Where to stay with pets in Kato Gouves

We didnt try the restaurants and stuck with Buffet which a wide range and variety of dishes - even Chinese! The cakes and desserts were exemplary! Drinks wise kids were happy with sodas and we drank the Minoan Era lager which we really liked

I had a Spa Day and treatment - staff were excellent, sauna and jacazzui lovely. On a duller day took kids to the Aquarium which was good and only 30 min walk e/w along the seafront

It’s also a great place if you like cats! The only negative is not being a beachfront resort but having said that, the five minute walk to the beach is quite pleasant

My family and I had a lovely holiday at Gouves. The staff were excellent, particularly Maria at Poseidon Bar who could not do enough for us

Food was excellent: I have two fussy eaters and they could always find something to eat at the Buffet

The pizza, gyros and ice cream during the day was very tasty! We didn't go to the a la carte restaurants, so can't comment on those

The food was good and mostly varied, we always managed to find something we liked each day. The hotel is in a good location and walking distance from local shops and restaurants too

Good location, atmosphere is amazing, all the staff are very friendly and i really liked the room with a sea view. In short, I definitely recommend this place

Beachfront resort in a very convenient location, just a short distance from the airport. Large private parking area available free of charge

The property has been recently renovated: the common areas are spacious, well designed and, above all, extremely clean, with staff constantly working to maintain every area spotless

A special thank you to the waitresses Georgia and Antigoni, who were serving our section. Besides being professional and extremely efficient, just like the rest of the staff, they always had a smile on their faces

Truly a 5 star hotel What an amazing hotel this was, booked two rooms with a sharing pool and they were amazing, I called the hotel to see if they could make sure we got rooms next to each other, they sorted that for us, what a treat to have our own pool

We made a complaint to the reception regarding our glass toilet door making an aweful noise when opening and closing as it was getting caught on something 3 times we reported it and was told nothing wrong with it

Lovely large hotel with 4 pools! Right beside the beach. ( over the road) Free sunbeds for residents. So much choice on the buffet meals, each breakfast and evening meal. Great shower and all toiletries in the room

Entertainment was good, but the DJ by the pool during the day may have been a bit too loud and struggled to find the right songs for daytime djing, put me off my relaxation and had to put earphones in at times

i took a video to reception of the door and now small shards of glass. they soon took notice and repaired the fault. Booked a massage/ they changed the time to fit other ppl in so moved our appointment

The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. A special mention goes to the lovely lady in the hotel shop – she is simply amazing, warm, and welcoming 💛

The beach with the sea right across the road from the resort, so it was a great location! The sea was beautiful, clean and the beach was also the cleanest I have ever seen

We spent 8 days (7 nights) at the Astir Beach Hotel and it was the best and most beautiful vacation I have ever had! It left strong memories and feelings in me

The staff was nice and helpful, the rooms were beautifully cleaned every day, the food was very very tasty. Overall, the hotel was clean, the pools were clean, the sunbeds were washed regularly, as were the sidewalks

Since the all-day animation programs were full of various activities and a different special program every evening, we didn't have time to go see much anywhere else, it was so delicious and fun

We took our water shoes, but in the end they were not needed, as the beach was just clean sand, nothing else. A shop with groceries and other things right next to the resort if not part of it

Another shopping arcade a few meters in front of the hotel, very close. The hotel is only a few minutes from the airport

I had a shoulder impingement and I am now able to move my shoulder and arm so much better! My daughter had a relaxing massage by Ifigeneia and she found it amazing and extremely relaxing. We would highly recommend both!!

Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Entertainment was good, if you go to hotels and like to be Entertained. They spoke French, English and German the entertainers. Kids Entertainment and kids club

The literature states that you can't save sunbeds for later which seemed to stop the breakfast rush to claim them! The rooftop pool was beautiful and quiet for the serious sunbathers and there were two lower pools which were more family friendly

I never went hungry though and everything was delicious. The bar had poocorn/peanuts and ice cream all day/evening if you wanted a snack and freshly made pizza and waffles were available from 3pm

The food was varied and there was something for everyone although, being vegetarian, it was disappointing that sometimes the bean salads had meat added to them which limited my options

The guests are mainly French so the entertainment is aimed towards them but they mix in English too. Even if we didn't always understand everything, it was still fun

Food was always excellent and had a great variety for all guests with excellent taste and quality. Great location near everything you need for your stay

The rooms are great and spacious for the cost read more below Service is thorough and give you everything you need on the get go such as eating times, WiFi etc There is plenty of activities such as pool, table tennis, karaoke and bar and a pool eith free toys like a beach ball The only downside i can think of for the actual hotel is that the toilet seat in our room wouldn't ever stay up Also the wifi...

Thalia is an amazing host! She gives the best advice helps with everything you need nothing is too small she goes out of her way to help and make you feel accommodated really recommend this hotel

just back after a 2 week family holiday for 12 7 adults 4 kids and a baby the hotel is at best 3 stars but very clean the food for me was awful so ate out every day the kids loved the pool and most of the staff are very helpful and friendly the man that does the excursions was extremely helpful and if you need to hire a car speak to him he is cheap and does all the hard work for you entertainment...

We also hired a car for a week (€315), and it was brilliant – hassle-free, no push for extra insurance, and a great way to see the island, which is huge. Highly recommend getting a car if you want to explore properly

We had a lovely stay at Club Lyda Hotel and would definitely return. The staff were absolutely fantastic – incredibly friendly and always willing to do whatever they could to make our stay better

Entertainment was minimal, but we stayed at the end of the season, so that might explain it. Overall, ignore the harsh reviews – this is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff, great pools, and good value for money

The food was the only real let-down. While there was variety, it would be nice to have some more simple options. It’s not terrible, but it is the one area where the hotel could really improve

The fact that it is adults only made this a quiet and peaceful retreat. We had great weather so we were able to take full advantage of the pool and outdoor spaces

Easy staying for eat and lay down near the pool, it’s more for old people in my opinion but there are big food portions and nice bar area with sea view.

We arrived late and they had a packed sandwich and fruit for us and offered a complimentary hot or alcoholic drink. The food was so tasty and plenty of options

Caveat: I love cats but possibly not the place to go if you are not inclined

Location- very close proximity to the sea, some sandy and rocky beaches within few minute walk

If you don’t want to sit near the pool there is a grass area a bit further away where you can lay on the sun bed and it’s a lot more quiet. Rooms in the main building are clean and comfortable

The guests are allowed to feed them on the premises. If you don't like cats the hotel might not be for you, but if you love animals, you'll adore it

Staff- they go above and beyond to help you and meet needs of families with babies. They offered to prepare food for our 6 month old without any salt and blended it

Reception and restaurant staff always greet you with a smile and make conversations. Lift in the main building which makes it easier with the pram

The only thing you need to buy is special shoes for swimming, so that it is pleasant to go into the sea on the rocks. Overall, we liked everything 👍

Great location for wandering to the main strip of Kato Gouves, even better for the beach and shops, and just a 15 minute walk to the main road for the excellent but services to the likes of Heraklion, Agios Nikolaus and Hersonissos

Locationwise, couldnt be better, was 200m from the beach and restaurants

Excellent no-frills location for a 10 night stay

The star of the show however is Savas who helped us check in late at night and was there from late afternoon every day - great to chat to, had a some superb local tips, really friendly and super useful knowledge and info

Maria and her staff are brilliant, breakfasts were good quality and delivered really fast. The pool is small but appropriate to the hotel sized, never felt too crammed even with 9 or 10 kids in playing

Breakfast is continental, but ask and they will cook something for you eg full breakfast or omelette. Staff really lovely and very helpful and friendly. You can buy snacks at the bar till 4pm

The Vasia is a very nice and modern hotel. I don't fully understand when they serve al a carte and when a buffet for the dinner, but the staff is really nice and they try to fulfill all of your needs and wishes

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking for a great experience on a budget. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the food was absolutely delicious

There were 2 separate pools, I chose the one further from the bar and had many hours with no one sitting near me- perfect. So peaceful for reading, relaxing and napping should you so desire

The placement of the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and there is a lot of noise from airplanes flying over the hotel every 15 minutes. There is a bus stop located right by the hotel, but nothing worth seeing by foot

I would return, however it would have to be self catering

Although they serve drinks in glasses round the pool, and one day one of the waiters dropped a whole tray of glasses which smashed and fell into the pool! Plastic would be a much better idea! No need to get up at silly o'clock to get a sunbed which was nice

They have a beautiful outside area where you can have breakfast, but the choice is minimal, and hot stuff is normally cold! The only other choice is the main buffet restaurant which is so hot and stuffy its uncomfortable

But if you ask for fries with the cheese and ham sandwich then you get charged for them??? The food in the main restaurant was awful, again, no aircon on in there despite there being a huge great unit

The only decent food we had in the hotel was at the a la carte restaurant. Out of the 7 days we were there we ate out 4 nights. The staff were all very friendly, very helpful and polite

Shout out to Dimos & the team! The location is less than 20 mins from the airport, ideal for; walks along the beachfront; swimming in the sea; short walks to local towns with plenty of shops, bars and tavernas; hire a car/quad/bike to explore the island/mountains; attend some tours!

Our stay was absolutely amazing. We had a private airport transfer, which was well organized for us. The room provided was in perfect location, very clean and well maintained. For two of us, there was plenty of space

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel So we will start with the positives first ▪️upon arrival at around 10:30pm we were greeted by a helpful man on reception who checked us in quickly and offered us food for us and our 3 children

These were delicious and what we pretty much lived on (see negatives) ▪️we found the location to be close to the beach which was handy with 3 children

Due to the lack of trust of the food after my husbands food poisoning we decided to eat out on two nights at some local taverns which we absolutely loved even though we had paid for half board at the hotel

Breakfast was very basic and the coffee was awful. ▪️although there is a sign saying the pool area gets slippy when wet i thought i wouldn't mention this for people who are thinking of going with children

This hotel is just a 10 minute walk away from the beach and endless amazing bars and restaurants, but also tucked away enough that it is quiet at night. All the cats were also a plus 🥰

Apartment was spacious & clean. Could have had a bit more to cook with, but it was ok for us as we didn't do that. Location on the main road is not great. Walk to the beach was approx 20 mins, but then we are pensioners!

We had a fantastic stay at Katerina & Fotis’ apartments. The place was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The location is peaceful and well cared for. What truly made our experience special were the hosts

Very nice and helpful staff. Nice pool and bar facilities and Very warm area with cjute cats everywhere. Rooms nice but not Amazing, small kitchen and completely empty livingroom with no sofas just small dining table.

I am here with my parents and two children and we have a 2 bedroom apartment which is very spacious and has a lovely size balcony I like that the pool area isn’t always too full and the food around the pool is beautiful so worth the money I would definitely come back the staff are friendly and attentive when there is any problem

It's in a great location - an easy walk to the beach but right next to the local bus stop to get to anywhere along the main road. The hotel is small, quiet and wonderfully decorated. The rooms are kept immaculately clean

Close to the beach and the local restaurants, this hotel has to offer really clean and spacious rooms with all the facilities,e. room service,parking space,bathroom amenities and a pool with a garden

The location is great, its really quiet but its only a few minutes walk down the road to the beach and numerous fantastic tavernas, or a few minutes in the opposite direction to filoxenia taverna (our favourite), supermarkets, main ***** or bus stop

Absolutely fantastic apartment's, spotlessly clean & well equipped and high specification. Very comfortable beds, great shower. Pool area is lovely with very comfortable sun loungers and there is a well equiped gym too

When we arrived the fridge was stocked with water, raki, juice, wine and snacks, and when we left we were even given a thoughtful box of gifts which was such a nice touch! There are plenty of lovely restaurants in the village a short walk away from the hotel, and it’s right next to the beach! You can also get a 20 minute bus ride to the main city Heraklion, so it’s ideally situated! I wouldn’t hesitate...

The room was beautifully decorated and the entire hotel was spotless! The pool area was lovely and relaxing - we even had it to ourselves some days! There was plenty of choice for breakfast and we enjoyed eating it on our balcony every morning

Great for my family of 5. Big space brand new. Had everything my family and I needed. Easy to checkin and check out. Many restaurants near by. Kids loved the jacuzzi especially since it was too cold to go in pool

We had spontaneously come to Michalannia Appartments because there was an overbooking in another hotel. Nikos and his wife welcomed us very hospitably and immediately prepared an apartment for us

Michalianna suites is thea best choice! They are really nea and fabulous close to bars, restaurants, shops and of course 3 minutes away from the beach. The guests are really pleasured

it's really luxurious and comfortable. Therr are many shops restaurant and bars near michalianna suites. The hosts are very friendly with great hospitality

We had an amazing week at this home! The host, Nikolaos, is a genuinely friendly family man who went out of his way to accommodate our needs

the complex has a very nice cosy and small local village feel to it too with everything close by. great library of books, pool table, good tv for sport, games for around the pool and indoors

the food at the snack bar is fantastic and the breakfast is brilliant. everything from a full English to Greek yoghurt with honey. personal fave is the special omelette

we have had the most wonderful week stay at the ourania. a very warm welcome from the amazing host, Cally, who has amazing english and is really good fun too

1 litre of water is a euro from the bar fridge so you don't need to go far if you do not want to. you can cook food if you want to but the breakfast kept us going until dinner time

Lovely family run apartments spotlessly clean. Rural location with cockerel, chickens and dogs barking. Close to main road and flight path.

We had a really lovely holiday at Kleanthi’s apartments and would highly recommend staying here! They are reasonably priced and a good location for exploring the island! Kleanthi and her son could not do enough to help us and we enjoyed relaxing in the pool area too! Thank you Kleanthi!

Book a hoilday through love hoilday for 7 days, amazing little place, greated with the lovely owner who welcomes you, beds get made Daily, great local places for food and shoes!, cooking facilities aren't that good, pool behind hotel looks good but have not been swimming in it!, great for a little family or couple all in all amazing place recommend if you dont need anything fancy for your stay! :

Kleanthi is a legend , she is fantastic her and her son Nikos can’t do enough for you , the rooms and the atmosphere are great and such a relaxing place to be.

The rooms are great for the money but don't expect anything too exotic. Don't expect to cook anything in the rooms the cooking facilities are very basic
