Sunset Faros in Akrotiri

From arrival to departure, the experience was as if we were visiting family. No matter the request, Marta, Nick and Aggelos always came through. The views were spectacular, the facility crisp and clean. Marta and Nick were tremendous asset in finding a rental car and local excursions. Will visit again for the facility, view but mostly because of the kind nature of the ownership and management. Thank you and we shall meet again!

Before even getting to the review, we want to thank Niko, Martha and really all the staff at Sunset Faros for an unforgettable experience in Santorini. (Big thanks to the kid serving Breakfast, very young but already precise and professional!)
Their warm welcome, priceless suggestions and the relaxed chats in the warm Greek evenings are everything you can ask for and much, much more.

We stayed in the top room with terrace and jacuzzi for 7 nights in August 2021 and our overall evaluation of the hotel is definitely a 5 star experience.

Location - Sunset Faros is located at the southern end of Santorini, the less crowded and more intimate part of the island.
From here the view of the sunset is stunning and you can relax without tourists disturbing.
This also means that the hotel is a bit far from the main villages on the island, so it is really advised to rent a vehicle to move during your stay (possibly scooter / quad since parking is not always easy)

Facilities - our room was overall very good, particularly the terrace with sun ed and jacuzzi from which we could enjoy an amazing sunset in the warm water… simply great.
Room itself was maybe a little small (particularly the bathroom) but honestly we barely noticed it. We spent most of the time travelling Santorini or enjoying the terrace!
Hotel also offers a great infinity pool with a bar (quite expensive). This pool was also really nice and we did use it in the evenings.

Breakfast - I think a good breakfast is essential in any hotel. A good meal makes you start the day in the best way, and Sunset Faros breakfast was EXCELLENT.
Varied, abundant, different every day and with the possibility to be brought to your room. GOOD JOB!

If you want a genuine experience with great views of the island and THE BEST staff you can find, this is the place to be.

A more than wonderful hotel, they have respectful staff. A different place that enjoys natural and attractive scenery. Clean bedrooms. Wonderful treatment from the hotel. We had a wonderful stay here. Martha and her family + staff where awesome and really went out if there way to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend this location if you want a bit of peace and quiet outside of the normal tourist areas.
