Best Hotels in Athens

Our taxi did drop us off a street over which was fine, just a short walk with our suitcases & up the entrance stairs. The entrance to the hotel is in an alleyway (which is why the taxi could not get closer)

I wish I had taken pictures of the hotel to recommend it to other people. The location is perfect - with numerous brunch places and attractions nearby and the subway being less than 10 minutes away

The room was beautifully furnished and perfectly adequate in size. It was very clean, with daily housekeeping. The staff responded quickly to any written inquiries, and the location is excellent

There are a lot of restaurants and bars nearby, which made me choose the hotel. I had the room with two beds, and it was enough for two people with two small luggages open. The bathroom was also very clean and wide

I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely choose this hotel again

Best value hotel. 2mins walk to metro (M2 red line), walking distance to Acropolis, rooftop bar with beautiful view of Acropolis. Helpful concierge and generous breakfast buffet.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Europe. The location is in the heart of Athens city, near by the main station along the Acropolis. The balcony in my room was in front if the acropolis itself

The people there are very nice and to be honest, I don’t have anything to complain about. Rooms was so clean and the room service folks clean it everyday. Also the rate is soo good comparing to the location

Service was excellent and so was the breakfast. Walkable to Acropolis museum and entrance. I really like my room with balcony with views of the Acropolis especially at night .

The rooftop restaurant offers great views, quality, and service. The Christmas set menu was quite good, and the breakfast buffet in the lobby had many choices, though the taste was just average

The room itself was decent, but there's room for improvement in terms of cleanliness. The location is excellent, making it very convenient to walk to the Acropolis

A really great hotel with a rooftop view of the acropolis. Beautiful rooms and incredible bed. The only thing better was the staff, they were so helpful and able to organise us transportation during a strike

The most comfortable bedding I’ve ever experienced in 50 years of travel. Finally a hotel that has firm useful pillows rather than just plastic bags filled with air. Great food around every corner

The only slight improvement I would make is an update to the room’s LG Smart Television’s — the streaming connection is an outdated version that doesn’t really work anymore

the hotel was really beautiful with an interesting concept, very clean, contemporary, the rooms are incredibly spacious and the staff was super friendly

Perhaps invest in smart TV’s that have the most common Chromecast and/or ApplePlay systems which are much more simple and require less intervention

Enjoyed the breakfast daily and they also have a roof top with killer views

The room was spotless and spectacular with high end touches like a wall bar, coffee station, multiple indoor and outdoor seating, luxurious linens and bath products. They even surprised us with a welcome gift

The sweeping views of the river and the most magnificent penthouse stay includes dreamy comforts, warm service, great style and a harmonious elegance

We chased the best sunsets and linger for sunrises, perched on the top with views of the river banks and the city

The pool is its own kind of quite magic that makes you feel like you stepped into a private greenhouse with blue waters surrounded by trees, flowering plants, outdoor shower and a lounge area

The location is excellent, close to all the main attractions, restaurants and shops. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They also had a roof top bar with great views

I chose this hotel primarily for its excellent location, being very close to the Acropolis and within walking distance. Even with a short layover, I could easily fit in a half-day tour of the Acropolis the next morning

Clean, location, good breakfast, friendly staff

The staff was OUTSTANDING! We interacted with Elina, Dionisis, Diumtris, George and Lefteris at the front desk and they went above and beyond to help us as one of our member of our party had flight cancelation and delay issues

The team at the front desk help us arrange transportation to pick her up when her flight finally arrived. The room staff did a great job having our room ready and keeping it clean for us

The hotel has a classic style and is very clean. The breakfast selection is limited, but the food is healthy, delicious, and very tasty. You can see the Acropolis from the small balcony

It completely ruined my sleep that night and I am normally a heavy sleeper. They moved me to a different floor the next day which was nice, but the staff should have had much more control and not let it go on for hours

They were acting like little children, running through the hall and knocking on doors from midnight to 4am. Both hotel staff and their teachers failed to keep them quiet for more than a few minutes at a time

There is outdoor noise, which can be expected from the location, but can be quite easily ignored by drawing the curtains. That was not really a bother so much as the indoor noise from the other guests

Even with better behaved guests you can hear everything from the hall. Would not recommend this hotel to light sleepers. That said, the noise from other guests is the only reason my review is not 5 stars

Best part of the hotel was the greeting we had, check-in and explanation of the city

I was here for 3 nights in early December, so the tourist off-season. The rooms were superb, very comfortable and high quality and clean

Wow must be the best value hotel in the fabulous city of Athens,everything was first class from the location to the comfortable room to the friendly staff and the very tasty breakfast  Have stayed here before and will definitely return

The staff were all friendly and helpful. Front desk service was excellent, very knowledgeable and positive. Could not be happier with the hospitality here, felt safe and and well cared for during our short stay

The hotel is in the middle of the Plaka area surrounded by shopping and many good restaurants; with easy walking access to all of the major historical sites, and the rooftop terrace/bar/restaurant has a stunning view of the Acropolis

I've overall good experience but the customer service could be better and respectful. I was ready to checkout at 11:30 just 30 mins from the actual checkout time

The location is excellent, with many restaurants nearby, right next to the Plaka pedestrian street. The breakfast was also quite substantial

Plenty areas to visit within walking distance and an awesome bakery around the corner 😁 If you're travelling to the hotel by train, it stops at the stadium

Apparently we didn’t have the breakfast included in our stay. The cost was $15 euros each for breakfast if we paid at the hotel

We opted to go across the street to a nice bakery and have a coffee and fresh baked good for around $4-5 euros each. We no big breakfast people fit was good for us

For new visitors to Athens, the Big Bus stops across the street so can shuttle you in to the old town and also the cruise port if you arrive that way

Super nice hotel, room was gorgeous, bathrooms impeccable, good breakfast (although due to covid was not buffet-style) but the coffee was amazing!! The only thing to consider is that if you prefer a firmer mattress, be prepared for a very soft one

Nice big, modern room with good shower. Street is a bit noisy but its a great location close to cafes, restaurants and bars. Easy to get to the Acropolis site and museum. Good for shopping and transport links

Breakfast was great with omelettes cooked to order and a good selection of food

We had no issues checking in and they are very informative. Our time spent in Greece was chaotic during the COVID-19 pandemic, but our last night at the Editor Hotel Athens tied up this trip into a wonderful experience

It’s our second time at this hotel and we had a great experience at Azur. The staff were amazing , rooms were cleaned everyday and the breakfast was excellent.

Absolutely fantastic! The quality, service, and room were all exceptional. The food was amazing, literally the best Greek salad in town!! I highly recommend it and the location is just 2 min walk from the beach

The location is great, just 15 minutes walk from the Plaka and Monastiraki. The hotel itself is very nice, clean and friendly. Great view to the Acropolis from the room. Breakfast is fresh and diverse

The rooms are comfortable and clean with good soundproofing. We ate one night on the rooftop with a view of the Acropolis and the food was delicious

Pizzas crisp up generous, cocktails flow from charmers like George, Adonis, Tony, and Fabiana who banter and recommend hidden eateries, turning drinks into events

Please be aware that on the street itself there are several motorbike workshops but everything you might need is a brief walking distance

Spotlessly clean and the staff fantastic. The breakfast was excellent with many choices that varied every day so it wouldn't get boring when you stay for many days

This is my home away from home the only issue we had was the temperature one but was solved eventually. The breakfast is good lots of options however the plant based milk wasn’t good which made the coffee taste bad

I am very impressed that the hotel provides complimentary wines in the evening between 7:00pm-8:00pm and morning Pilate lesson at roof top garden overlooking view of the city and Acropolis, bottled fresh smoothies were served after the lesson

The hotel's location and facilities are very good, close to the subway and the street, but the outdoor bathtub is very dirty. My wife tried to clean it but still didn't dare to use it. It was a waste of money to upgrade.

Small hotel with a good location in the city to go by foot. Don't expect a hotel lobby or window views - it's in a narrow building complex not a Vegas Hotel. All in all nice people and normal hygiene in the rooms

This is a beautiful hotel, with neatly appointed rooms of a good size. At a moderate price, the finishes feel luxurious

We went to the wedding which was the whole reason at staying at the hotel. On our return after the wedding outside where we initially parked was a BMW X5 obviously our hire car was not good enough for them

The hotel seems to be in a good area at least close to where our event was on Lake Vouliagmeni, only 5 minutes away, however is almost 1 hour by car from downtown

It feels like a proper hotel rather than a collection of apartments converted into rooms. The rooms were spotless and fresh, with a real bed, a fully functioning, well-designed bathroom, and a large balcony

Breakfast itself was delicious and plentiful, though it could use a little more attention from staff. Tables weren’t cleaned as quickly as expected, and fresh eggs didn’t always come out fast enough

We stayed two nights but never managed to try the banitsa, as the small plates disappeared the moment they were brought out. A bit more assistance here would make the experience perfect

On the downside, the swimming pool was disappointing. The photos gave the impression of a larger rooftop pool, but in reality it was very small—almost microscopic—with only two sunbeds

The hotel also offers luggage storage if you arrive early, and for a small fee, you can use the breakfast service before check-in, which was a nice convenience

The hotel is quite good, the room is spacious, dry and wet are separated, and the terrace is beautiful. The overall feeling is good. The advantage of large rooms is quite prominent in Europe.

Seriously, the shower was very large with great pressure and a rainfall shower head that I've missed since we left. The breakfast every morning is probably the best hotel breakfast I've ever had

The location is good, and the rooms are kind of new and modern. We got a 3-bed (family?) room. Quite noisy street traffic in the morning if the room is facing the street

The hotel was conveniently located next to shopping, restaurants and the train station. It was a 15 minute walk to the Acropolis.

We did have to carry our luggage up a lot of stairs which was not easy, but otherwise a positive experience

The rooftop restaurant was also beautiful, and the food there was excellent. We were served by Danaé, a wonderful and very helpful person. Of course, these compliments go out to all the staff at the establishment

We had the best stay at Heritage Hill. The room was small but very nice. We had dinner at the rooftop bar and restaurant Zales. The food was incredible, and we had a stunning view of the Acropolis
