Lena Beach Hotel in Kalathas

We’ve been travelling a lot in the world but I must say the staff at this hotel as amazing. Iro and Mari are so nice and helpful. We had an amazing time there. The breakfast was really nice, the restaurant too. We had sea view rooms which is a must . We would definitely go back there. The sunset is beautiful

Lena Beach Hotel is a hidden gem. Stunning location and truly excellent service from all the staff. The shared areas of the hotel are so well maintained and the dining area, terrace and pool area are beautiful. The rooms are basic but clean and functional. It didn't bother us at all but if you like a touch of extra quality in your bedroom furnishings then maybe not for you.

The hotel is extremely well situated on a hill overlooking the beach, offering free parking and proximity to many places for daily visits. Staff was very professional, helpful at any time, pleasant and friendly. Rooms are comfortable, equipped with all that is necessary and clean. Hotel's very charmy restaurant offers superbe view and delicious dishes. All this at very reasonable prices. A wonderful beach within two-three minutes walking distance. We will definitely revisit in the near future while we do firmly recommend this excellent Hotel-Restaurant.

Lena Beach is the perfect location for a holiday in Chania. It’s well run and the staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean and spacious. Location is next to Kalathas Beach just a 200m walk away and it’s a sandy beach. A large pool at the hotel is also another option to swim. The food at the hotel is very good and well priced. Whether is breakfast, lunch or dinner sitting under the large verandah you enjoy amazing ocean views across the bay. I have stayed at this hotel several times. When eight friends from Australia wanted a relaxing hotel I suggested Lena Beach. We celebrated our friends 70th birthday there. The food and hospitality provided by the hotel made this event a success. After a weeks stay and when it was time to leave everyone would have liked to have stayed another week. It’s generally fully booked so book early to secure the ocean view rooms with a balcony.

Stayed here for two nights during my and my wife's anniversary trip, and they helped make it amazing.

Mary was so helpful in giving us ideas on where to go to get out and have some fun.

They had outings available if you wanted, but that is not my wife's style, we had rented a car ( they can help you with that)

They also have a breakfast bar, which will start your day off well.

We’ve just returned from a 12 night break at this hotel. Can’t recommend it enough! If you’re after a quiet relaxing break away from the bustle of a busy tourist resort then do consider Lena Beach Hotel. THE HOTEL stands just above the sea in the beautiful bay of Kalathas. There is a lovely sandy beach a 2 minute walk away. It’s just a 20 minute drive from the airport where you can pick up a hire car or the hotel will arrange a taxi for you at a cost of 27€. Noise from commercial planes is minimal. However there is a NATO airbase next to the main airport and so you should be aware that the noise of military aircraft is quite noticeable maybe 4 times a day. This would NOT stop us going again though! THE STAFF are what make this hotel outstanding in our opinion. They all do their jobs beautifully and with smiles! From the cleaners who kept our rooms spotless, to the reception staff who were always willing to help with any queries we had, and the bar and restaurant staff who even on very busy nights still kept smiling……. We are so grateful to you all for making our stay so enjoyable! THE FOOD…… Although we had a few meals out in Chania and Stavros it was always a delight to eat at the Lena Beach Restaurant. The menu was extensive and varied and everything was beautifully cooked and presented. We found plenty to choose from each day. THE ROOMS…… the hotel is traditional in style, not the most modern of furnishings but the important thing for me is always whether the bed is comfortable. Yes it was! I often have trouble sleeping in hotel beds but the king size bed was perfect both size and comfort wise. The air con in the bedroom was very efficient when the temperature outside was in the 30s and exterior roller blinds darkened the rooms well at night. IN SUMMARY….. we can highly recommend staying at The Lena Beach Hotel and hope to return next year.

We LOVED this hotel! The value for the price absolutely floored me! Gorgeous views of the harbor, the main pool is DEEP but relaxing and beautiful! the kid section of the pool is perfect for them. Kind taxi driver coordinated by the hotel got me at the airport (download WhatsApp to communicate easily with staff for this) Big breakfast with lots of food options, kind staff who all speak English and are so helpful, easy walk over to the beach (side of the winding road so walk quick, but it’s maybe 5 min walk to a calm beach), delicious food at the restaurant!! Will be staying here again for sure!!! Bring your toiletries as none are provided in room (which i think is standard here, but just to note!), try for a sea view room as it’s stunning day and night! We can’t wait to return!!!!

We stayed at Lena Beach Hotel for three nights and we really enjoyed our time there. The staff was very helpful and kind, always happy to help. We liked the breakfast very much. It was diverse, tasty and fresh.
The pool was great, and there is also a beach near by with some shadow.

We have spent 1 week with a 10years old at Lena Beach Hotel in July 2024. The location of the hotel is excellent, the great sandy beach is only 400 steps from the hotel (one of the best beach in the island in my opinion) and the view from the room is excellent. With a rented car you can reach Chania center within 15min, which is great! The room furnitures are not the latest design, but it was not an issue for us, as the beds were comfortable, the AC worked properly and the entire room was very clean (Thank you for the ladies for their everyday's effort for it!)! To be honest we have had only 2 trips during our holiday as all the needs could be covered at Lena Beach hotel and the beach next to. We have tried at least 10 type of meals from the menu at the restaurant which were also very nice. There were no day for me without Lena's White Sangria;)
