Royal Sun in Chania Town

Very nice hotel, clean, with big rooms.
Room service is great, every day they refill our coffees. We can ask them to refill our water containers, thus saving plastic bottles.
The staff is amazing, always smiling and nice.
It has a huge pool overooking Chania town and a nice gym. We couldn't use the pool, as it was winter, but the gym we liked a lot.
You better have a car to move around, but they also have a free shuttle to and from the city.
Also they offer free laundly service.

The entire hotel aesthetics frln the room and restuarant to the hallways. Staff are very friendly and the shuttle service provided was class.

Modern hotel with clean rooms and well-maintained bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent, offering panoramic views of Chania from the dining area. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a non-alcoholic drink. The free hotel shuttle is very convenient (just coordinate the time with the host). The property also features a nice outdoor pool and a useful self-service laundry, free except for detergent capsules.

Nice hotel, a little bit out from the old town however there is a mini bus that is put on for guests every half an hour at no extra cost (pick up & drop off). Great view from the hotel and is peaceful all the time.

Breakfast options are good with a varied selection. The evening meals here were very nice (the beef ragu is worth mentioning as it was delicious even though the portion size was a little small - would still recommend however). Restaurant was also clean, tidy and organised.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Nikolas who we dealt with the majority of the time.

Only downfall for the hotel was some of the decoration was a bit worn/used. Peeling wallpaper / plaster was common throughout the hotel. Our bathroom (room 319) had the bathroom plug socket pulled loose from the wall, a public bathroom had the hand dryer removed with electrical cables on show (see picture). The walls in the rooms were very thin and could hear people getting ready, playing music and even a child crying.

Overall the hotel & experience was positive. Would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Chania.

I’m reluctant to leave a fabulous review as everyone will want to go there! It was our 4th visit to the hotel & it never fails to deliver on excellence, the staff are amazingly friendly & professional, nothing is too much trouble for them. The food in the restaurant is superb & the views over to the ocean are stunning, the nightly sunsets are priceless, love it there.

While this hotel is not really close to the city center, it makes that up by its awesome view above the city.
Our room was clean and a bit bigger at other hotels we stayed at crete.
What makes this hotel exceptional is the excellent service. We had to leaver early and the prepared a breakfast box for taking with us.
The hotel restaurant has great food and one of the best views for watching the sunset in chania. Just remember to reservate a front row seat in time.
There is also a big pool and a gym included in the room. Since it is a bit hard to reach the hotel either public transport they offer a shuttle service to the city Center and back,

We had an amazing stay at the Royal Sun from Aug 21- Aug 28. A wonderful hotel, close to the airport and overlooking Chania - what a wonderful view!
There are many excellent amenities: a large, clean pool with loungers, plentiful buffet breakfast, laundry facilities and shuttle into town.
A special thank you to front desk staff: Maria, Nikolas, Emma and Vaia. We truly appreciated their assistance with restaurant recommendations, places to visit and a car rental. Thank you to the shuttle drivers and Michalis too! It's the people who make this hotel stand out. We love Chania and the Royal Sun. Thank you!

City views
A extremely clean rooms, beautiful views, upgrade to city view was definitely worth it.

The hotel is too far to walk to town if that’s something that’s important for you probably choose elsewhere. However the shuttle busses are very easy and reliable. We used them every evening

Our stay at the Royal Sun Hotel was perfect. The room with the sea view and balcony was of a high standard, clean and comfortable. The Hill restaurant, where we ate breakfast each day, had a stunning view overlooking the old port and the sea, and was a delight to sit at each morning. The breakfast choice and quality was probably the best we’ve ever experienced. The pool was great with that brilliant view and plenty of chairs and sunbeds to choose from.
All the staff were so friendly and good natured it made the stay perfect. The reception staff were always happy, willing to help, full of information and again probably the best we’ve come across. The hotel provides a shuttle mini bus to transport the guests to and from the town of Chania.
We definitely recommend the Royal Sun Hotel if you are visiting Chania.
