Monte Vardia Hotel in Chania Town

My partner and I stayed a couple of nights during off-season. The hosts were incredibly kind, made us feel like we were the only ones there. Breakfast buffet was closed but they were kind enough to provide us in our room. We were given great recommendations when asking about restaurants and the best way to get to town. The room was clean, views stunning and it was quiet. Honestly wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in the Chania area. Thanks again for your hospitality.

The hotel and rooms are very clean and nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. The only reason I could not give 5 stars is because the Wi-Fi is very spotty and slow.

A rare find of a hotel run beautifully by two sisters who truly care about their guests and make one feel welcome from the outset . Nothing appears too much from them pertaining to special dietary requests or advice and service in general. The Montevardia hotel is spotlessly clean and the huge array of breakfast choices are a sight to behold. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and courteous. This hotel is a rare find and without doubt my " go to" place when coming to Chania Crete. I highly recommend anyone to consider this hotel when coming to this area. Dr David Uri.

Our third year staying at this family run hotel with three generations involved. The two sisters - Eleni and Christina supported by their parents and Eleni’s sons - Niklas and John - are so welcoming and friendly. The hotel has a unique boutique feel about it as nothing is any problem for the owners or staff. The hotel pool is one of the best in Chania and the terrace view is the best in Chania. My daughter Jodie and I only stayed a few days, I wish it could have been longer. I can only reiterate what everyone else is saying about Eleni, her sister and sons. Nothing was too much, they were the perfect hosts The large pool was stunning, the rooms airy and we had two balconies. The breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. Laundry facilities available should you wish. We hope to go back and say hi to everyone. I Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We have just returned from our stay at the Monte Vardia hotel in Channia Crete. The hotel is situated just outside the main city of Channia which is around a 10 minute taxi ride into the city which is a stunning and beautiful place, alternatively you can get a bus that runs every 20 mins at a cost of 1.60 one way, we decided to do this as it stopped very close to the hotel. The Hotel is a family business run by Helen and her sister including her sons who went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable. The pool is beautiful with excellent sun loungers and umbrellas. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Channia and would personally like to thank everyone at Monte Varia for making our stay comfortable.

Words truly cannot do justice to how incredible our stay at Monte Vardia was. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations: the stunning location and it’s view, the beautifully maintained rooms, and the excellent facilities (especially the huge sunny pool) all contributed to a perfect experience.

But what truly made our stay unforgettable were Eleni, her wonderful family, and the entire staff at Monte Vardia. Their warmth, generosity, and genuine hospitality created an atmosphere that was both welcoming and deeply personal. They were always available with a smile, ready to help with anything we needed; they truly go above and beyond to make sure all the guests are comfortable and happy!

Their kindness, sincerity, and attention to detail transformed our vacation into something truly special.

I felt more personally pampered by Eleni and her staff at Monte Vardia than I have anywhere I’ve been. I recently traveled to Hungary, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, England, France, Scotland, Indonesia, The Dominican Republic, Argentina, Canada and many states in the USA.
Just one example of the excellent, personalized service was on our 1st night. Our party of 10 arrived at 9:30 pm. The hotel’s restaurant normally closed at 9 pm. After I confirmed the hours the restaurant was open, Eleni graciously offered to serve us all dinner. It was one of the most delicious, authentic Greek meals that we had in our 10 day stay in Crete, Santorini and Athens. We were extremely grateful since we had been traveling for 2 days and were very hungry!
I’m definitely planning to stay at the Monte Vardia hotel on any return trips to Chania!

After much research, we choose Monte Vardia, and are so glad we did! Sisters Christina & Elena went above and beyond to ensure our family of 6 (from 15 to 85 years old) were well taken care of at all times. The rooms were perfect for our needs (family room to singles) inclusive of balconies all around, the pool area wonderful for lazy afternoons, and an incredible views! And further bonus, the food was great - a comprehensive breakfast selection, lunch by the pool, and the restaurant Gems - which we ate at 3 of the 4 nights - included excellent options, from yummy salads, pizzas and pastas, to amazing Family recipe specials. We did not have a car for this part of our stay, but getting taxi's about was easy with Christina and Elena's help as well as their many other recommendations on things to do and where to eat in the area and further afield in Crete. We are already planning our next visit - thank you Elena and Christina!

made our tenth pilgrimage to this hotel treated like royalty, wether you stay fora night or month you will not be disappointed. Everybody I have spoken praise Helen and Christina who along with their mother run the hotel nothing is to much trouble ask and it will be done. nothing more to add except keep a room empty for us in April
