We stayed for a week in a suite with a private pool and loved it. The staff were excellent to a fault, especially the bar staff - couldn't rate them high enough. The food was much better than your average all inclusive resort, especially the Veranda for breakfast (courtesy of our room) and Abrazo Mexican. If you're going to Crete and want a 5 star resort then you should consider the Stella Palace....

Fantastic Holiday from start to finish the most amazing experience, service beyond expectation. Breakfast was varied and very nice every day. Dinners were also especially nice. The location of the hotel is ideal. It is near all the local amenities. There is a supermarket around the corner which I believe is open until late. Many beach side restaurants. Our stay at Insula Alba Resort & Spa was absolutely wonderful - the hotel is beautiful, relaxing, and truly perfect for a peaceful vacation. Thoroughly enjoyed a week here in mid-October. Great food options and some fun on-site activities. Pools were chilly, but it was near the end of the season so not surprising and because it is not a winter resort I don't expect outdoor pools to be heated.
