Super Hotel. We had everything we needed. Calm room. Good beds. Nice ocean view. Simple but lovely breakfast. Spacious balcony. It's a nice area with less traffic. We can recommend it.

I stayed at Crete Mare probably about 20 total nights between my visits to plakias in 2021 and 2022. The rooms are very clean, the showers are a little bigger than most in crete and have glass enclosures that prevent the whole bathroom from getting wet. The option for a queen bed is nice, especially because it’s an actual queen bed and not two doubles stacked next to each other. The bed was very comfortable. The service is super friendly. The location is nice, with a calm beach right in front cause the water is protected by rocks to slow the sometimes wind-blown sea. The wifi could perhaps be a little stronger. The view tops everything off though. Beautiful views from every room, and close enough to hear the ocean at night. I can’t speak for the breakfast, because I usually didn’t get up early enough for it, but the breakfast next-door at nikos on the rocks serves breakfast all day, and is very good. One other benefit is that nikos bar (next door) stays open later than most other bars in plakias (if your into that, which I was). Service at nikos is also excellent.

It’s a terrible hotel with very bad behaviour of the owners…
That’s a pity because I have read requests before booking and had some expectations..
1. Nobody was waiting for us on the reception!!!
We were waiting around 30 min for someone to get key 🔑
2. I have booked a room for 3 person with 3 separate bad and I have the terrible one for 2 person with 1 bed (for me and my 17 years old son!!!) and one additional ugly and very uncomfortable small bed for my daughter. And the owner told me it’s because of all triple rooms are occupied at the moment.
After my trying to talk with the owner, he replied that he is a very old and sick man and could not help me 😅
The balcony door could not be open because neighbours are permanently smoking 🚬!!!!
For the air conditioner you have to paid additional 8 euro!
In the bathroom there are hairs from previous guests….
Shower “cabins” is too small…
Towels are veeery old but clean
In the bathroom very intensive smell from canalisation, it’s ugly…
Only location and a breakfast is good enough, honestly to say
I willing the owner change the furniture 🪑 in the breakfast area and in the room, renovate canalisation system in the bathroom (to liquidate smell in the room), because they must be renovated, also 🍴 please, because they are very low quality.

This was an unexpected find in a very quiet city on the south shore of Crete. The rooms are big and very clean. Strong wifi. Great view. A very nice breakfast and the staff are amazing people. They also have a small private beach with trees where u can hide during noon. Very quiet place and a plethora of taverns where you can eat and watch the sunset nearby. They also have parking available.

Compared to the lady visita, this Place gas reslly improved, the breakfast Is now satisfying, the air conditioned works perfectly, the owners are always nice although the man dorsn't speak a Word of English, nice location front the Sea, we' ll sure come back

Second time i stayed here. First time was 4 years ago. Clean ,great view, perfect beds, breakfast, very warm people.

Adequate, nice spacious rooms, friendly personnel. Very nice view of the Mediterranean from the rooms with the rebuilt, glassed balconies.

Very good hotel amazing views with small reminders.The breakfast is not included in the price of the stay.Incredible bathroom but does not include shampoo!!!!?
