Hotels on first line in Kos

I would particularly like to pay compliment to William on front desk who was there to greet us with such a warm welcome. I had made a special request which he had arranged for me

We loved our stay at the Astron. On arrival we did think the corridor to room and room was a bit tired looking , it was late at night but next morning room is roomy and bright, lovely view of pool

Huge thank you William and also the young man in your bar, always so friendly and always smiling! This hotel is so well located, everything within walking distance, Old Town, bus station, great Tavernas all on your doorstep

Always so pleasant and friendly as we came and went. The real wow factor was the view from our balcony, room 205 , absolutely amazing view overlooking the beautiful marina

Myself and my husband have just returned after spending a wonderful week in this gem of a hotel located right on the marina in beautiful Kos Town

Bathroom is tiny and only a bath no shower but everything clean and tidy. We had the most amazing lady who looked after our room Afrodita

A heartfelt thanks to management and team - I was the last guest of the season … and wish them all a well-deserved break! Thank you for your special care and attention to my needs as my leg injury was healing 🫠

The room was evacuated and nicely decorated. Both the room and the swimming pool were very clean. The bar has good prices and the breakfast is very tasty. The staff were extremely polite and helpful

Such a fantastic space, people, tastefully designed - reminding me of a big garden with the buildings beautifully arranged … and a good size pool as well

The bar is well stocked and they also serve lovely light meals from the bar. Breakfast is good with a wide choice of food. It's close to town where there are many restaurants, bars and shops

The location is excellent - for anything and everything you might wish to do

Great apartments on a small complex. The staff are helpful and can't do enough for you. The apartments all have a balcony or terrace and are situated within lovely flower laden courtyards

The sea was lovely and warm, but the pool was bracing!!! We had a room with a jacuzzi, which was perfect for enjoying after a day out, looking over to Kastri Island and Nisyros

The Location is at the top of a hill, so be prepared! We personally enjoyed the walk to the beach through the little farm, but I can imagine at the height of summer, may be very hot/tiring! We hired a car, which allowed us to drive around to a number of other walks and beaches, and whilst the weather was not perfect for sunbathing, it was great for walking

The thing that made this hotel was the service of the staff, who were all outstanding- for the Waitresses at the restaurant, to Dimitris in the bar, and the reception staff/porters, we were made to feel welcome

We arrived late due to our flight being delayed, but from that moment onwards it was the staff that shone throughout our holiday. Check in was quick, courteous & our bags quickly dispatched to our room

We were there to celebrate a special birthday, and the atmosphere allowed us to thoroughly relax and enjoy the luxury of a la carte dining. Thank you to all the staff for this experience

It was a pleasant surprise to see a meal of cold meats, cheese & salad awaiting us. The following morning at breakfast we meet the fabulous group of girls serving in the restaurant

The room was spotless and cozy, and I really enjoyed relaxing on the sunbeds by the beach, listening to the waves. Such a peaceful place to unwind. I’d love to come back one day!

We liked the beach with sunbeds both on the sand and in the natural shade on the grass under pine trees. We didn't use the swimming pool, beach bar, or the massage service, but other people enjoyed it

Compared to reviews from previous years, the WiFi was available everywhere (and I think even on the beach) and the room air condition was free this year

A small hotel with a calm atmosphere. The quality is slightly above the Greek 3-star standard. Everything is clean and quite working. Food is not hedonistic, but it is fresh and varies every day

every 45 minutes and it stops just in front of the hotel. Since the packed drinking water is quite expensive in the hotel, a small shopping trip pays of. The staff is friendly and helpful

Since all rooms are double rooms, you will hardly ever encounter families with small children here. The nearest shop is 2 km away, but you can use a bus going to the Kos town approx

Just returned home from this lovely little place. The most stunning grounds and the sea so blue. The pools are lovely and quiet and not a sunbed war in sight. Staff are so lovely and very accomadating

There is a bus just outside reception to take you into Kardamena, which is a must. No good for kids, they would be bored unless they are very little, and just happy with pools and the sea

Loved the managed beach and the excellent dinner

If I could give more stars I would , I can not fault this hotel , it's like it's run by a family , so clean all staff are excellent, they try to learn your names , there all super friendly ,food is supper, different every day , good choice , the rooms cleaned everyday , towels fresh , would defo go back , in fact we started looking for next year , Hope it does not change Many thanks

If there was a higher score we’d rate it higher,the hotel was lovely,food great,rooms,great comfortable and clean. A nice quiet location but a bus stop at the entrance takes you to kardamena for €2

The room was spacious, and although not full of features, it suited us perfectly. We stayed half board and food quantity was not lots, like some hotels, but for sure made up for in quality

Only slightly negative thing we could say is that we wished they’d keep the pool open after 7pm, would be nice to go for a nighttime dip

21st July 2025 & 13th October 2025 I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the wonderful Gaia Gardens Hotel not once, but twice this year – first in July with my two teenage daughters (aged 14 and 16), and again in October as a solo traveller

The restaurant was another highlight: fresh, flavourful food with plenty of choice, served in a relaxed and friendly setting. Every meal felt like it was made with love

Our room was fabulous – recently renovated, spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and blissfully quiet. It was the perfect retreat after days spent exploring or relaxing

It was my sisters birthday whilst she way staying at Gaia gardens and I wanted to see if the hotel could arrange a small surprise for her as I was back in the UK

From the moment we arrived, Gaia Gardens felt less like a hotel and more like a loving home tucked away in paradise

From the hotel to the other end of the bay where there are a few more bars and restaurants is a good walk of about twenty mins if you are slow , walking on the sea front there is not for the disabled choose the main road

Breakfast was plenty full , loads of choice , ok you have to wait for the toaster , another one would make it easier but it is Greece and that’s fine ! I love Kefalos it’s quiet, peaceful, no rowdy gangs, just good restaurants and a few good bars nearby

All the staff in hotel were pleasant, the young man on reception tried his best to understand me but I guess he is learning but non the less he was very nice

There are sun beds belonging to the hotel just down a few steep steps, never crowded always got some with like minded book worms

The restaurant’s food is outstanding and with beautiful unencumbered views of the Egean sea and of Turkey on the background. The restaurant’s live music is sophisticated and romantic, but can disrupt early sleepers

Good hotel on the beach with very efficient and friendly staff. Good food the breakfast offers a good selection and great service

Rooms offer sea view but quite close to the road so some noise A smart choice in a central location

Extraordinary Service, friendly Staff ready to assist, the quality of the food is very good. Small parking space in front of the hotel. The location is close to everything and the views are stunning!

This place was absolutely mind blowing, I sent my parents for a special trip and they were not disappointed. The staff looked after them so well, they upgraded them to a much better Room

nice and clean hotel. the room space is more than enough. the pool bar is also good. the breakfast was better than most of the hotels in Greece.

We stayed here first and last night of our holiday before taking the ferry to get to and from Patmos. Our flight to Kos was delayed 2 1/2hours so it was gone 11. 00pm before we arrived, so straight up to the room

Rooms are tired and there's 6a lot of noise from the street. But breakfast is great, and the rooftop pool terrace was the best!

The rooms are very comfortable, equipped with everything you need, excellent bathroom with roomy shower. Breakfast is more than adequate and sets you up nicely for that day, and the resident parrot is very entertaining

We only stayed here for one night as we were travelling the next day. Room 200 was for 3 people and was very comfortable and clean with free water in the fridge. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and beanbag loungers

We had half board so we had breakfast at the hotel which was excellent. For lunch or dinner we had to eat down near the beach at a restaurant which the hotel must of had agreement

Perfect central location with everything you could want on your doorstep an abundance of restaurants, bars, shops pools and beaches to visit. The hotel is very clean with daily maid service

The Rio Hotel in Kardamena is beautiful and centrally located. The family who runs it is incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with great tips for restaurants, trips, and beaches

Centrally located, walking distance to centre and beach. Apartment was spotless and extremely clean. Friendly and helpful staff.

Each room has a fridge and facilities for making a brew. The hotel is run by the most wonderful family who have been warm and welcoming on every visit and are so helpful to every need, can’t wait to go again

Would highly recommend Rio Hotel service second to none , hosts are friendly nothing is too much and treat guests as friends make all feel extra welcome , go as strangers and leave as friends

Towels and bedding are refreshed every other day or so. There is a shower room available to use for freshening up if you have a late flight, also at no extra charge

Beach:
Several beaches are within a 5–10 minute walk, but I’d recommend going a bit further if you want nicer ones

breakfast was continental very basic but suffice. write up on hotel says across the road from the beach it’s not it’s the harbour!and also says a ten minute walk to main shops which is more like twenty

Hotel:
The hotel is older, but everything worked fine. The location is okay, but if you plan to go to Kos Town daily, you’ll probably need a bike or some other transport, as it’s about a 20–30 minute walk

It can be inconvenient, but since this is well-known in advance, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Despite having a room close to the reception, the WiFi wasn’t always reliable

Room:
I stayed alone and had to pay extra for the second bed, but honestly, I can’t imagine two people sharing it – it felt more like one and a half than a double bed

Overall, for the price it was fine as a place to sleep, but not really somewhere to spend much free time – so next time I would probably choose a different hotel

We were there in September 2014 and really enjoyed it. The staff was very helpful and polite. The food was varied and delicious. There was a special pool for kids. The water park wasn't huge, but it was still great!

Most of the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. A few were a bit frosty and the lifeguards were tyrants. Not being able to jump into pools at a family resort is wild

The rooms were spotless and the facilities in the rooms were amazing. The food, for an all inclusive hotel, was great. Loads of options and great choice for kids

All very tasty and the snack bars throughout the day were all class. All the pools were great, apart from the no jumping in rule and the height rule on the slides (1

My one complaint which would warrant losing half a star is that the indoor games for kids (pool, air hockey etc) required paying a euro or two

For an all inclusive I think this is pretty poor and is something that would for me set apart a 4 star and 5 star hotel. All in all would highly recommend and would definitely go again

They have sunbeds and umbrellas around the pool. Have a poolside bar, food was very nice and prices are good. Good choice of breakfast on buffet. Short walk to the beach, supermarket and other restaurants

I stayed in 1 bedroom apartment. Had a fridge, hob top, kettle and utensils etc. There is a balcony off the bedroom. Table & chairs & washing line. Large swimming pool which was very clean

Chrysoula Hotel itself is based in Kefalos Bay and it is just a short walk of 200 metres to the stunning sand and shingle beach of Saint Stefanos

Very beautiful family run hotel. We did not have a reservation but the owner was kind enough to give us his time and help us find the room even tho it was very late. Rooms are beautiful and clean

The location is perfect – about 10 minutes to both the old town and Lambi Beach, with plenty of great restaurants nearby. It's a family-run business that really makes you feel at home

It's above expectations! Definitely recommended to go, you are in Kos town so everything is within walking distance

Nice bar area close to the pool which served very nice food and all the usual drinks. Plenty of sunbeds/umbrellas for everyone. Literally a few footsteps from the beach/sea

We stayed at Mammis Beach Hotel and were absolutely delighted! Great location: just a couple of minutes to the beach. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious. The room was clean and cozy, with a sea view

Stayed at this hotel for a few days. Calm place right by the sea, we really liked. Room was simple,but clean, staff friendly and easy to talk. Beach is just in front, and sunsets from restaurant were really good

It's great to be able to relax in such a wonderful place. The main advantage, in my opinion, is that there is a swimming pool and the beach is nearby. That's great!

Very clean pool, nice breakfast, and very close to the airport (10 min drive). The atmosphere is very traditional and friendly. The only small thing is the 15-20 minute walk to the main town, but it's very peaceful here

The beds are comfortable and clean with the best pillows for a good night's sleep. There is a snack bar with very reasonable drinks and lunch options. The pool area is clean with plenty of sunbeds and a large deep pool

The pool is loveley but never many people using it with always sunbeds available

This is a really relaxing laid back hotel, great views of the beach and chapel, very comfy beds and very clean. The staff a friendly and chatty, the food is lovely and plentiful with drinks in a chilled glass

Prices are good except for the sunloungers and umberella on the beach and they tend to charge for 2 + an umberella even if your on your own and dont want the parasol !

I have to say Chrisoula did her best to make things better but the fact is that this hotel needs desperately upgrading a lot and I said this so no surprise and the family know this but alas I feel this won’t happen which is a shame as it is potentially very good with money spent and it is in a good spot with a nice pool and surroundings

But we went there every day for lunch and drinks ! Chris and her son nic were so helpful Looked forward to seeing them again ! If ever this hotel comes up as a package we will definitely stay there! Every thing about it was good location right on the beach 🏖️ it was very clean ! Food good massive portions

Just back from a 5 night stay. Excellent sevice and very clean hotel. Rooms cleaned daily, towels every 2 days. Fridge and kettle, air-conditioning on request for a fee and safe. Bar snacks spot on and alcohol

We had initially arrived at the hotel at 2am, tired and hungry from travelling, and the receptionist had offered to kindly help us out by ordering some tasty food to the hotel

The location of the hotel is amazing because you are very close to the town centre and you have 3 markets that are very close to the hotel

Very friendly staff and a great family establishment. The cleaners tidied our rooms daily and made sure we had fresh towels to use

The Personnel was very nice, the manager of the hotel Dimitris is a really nice person and also other personnel is very helpful

Great pool and location is a very short walk to the beach (down a footpath to the left of the building and a few yards down the road), here is is a great supermarket and many tavernas and the long and nice beach

Kettle and normal size fridge in the room, but you're asked not to eat and drink in the hotel room as they have a pool bar, although it wasn't open in the beginning of May. Nice swimming pool and also a paddling pool

Great family welcome. Clean rooms with several sheet and towel changes in the week. Beside restaurants bars and supermarket and a very shirt walk to the beach. A lovely spot and I totally recommend staying here

Great family-run hotel with pool, pool bar and lounge bar. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. 90% of the guests are repeat customers and that says it all. Can't recommend it highly enough.

A friendly family run hotel just a short walk from the beach, in a quiet area. Rooms are basic but very clean. All have balconies, air-conditioning /heater

Great food, excellent service. The staff is warm and welcoming. The view from the tables makes Sydney the best place to grab your lunch, dinner or favourite drink. 💯 recommend!

Easily the best meals we had in Kefalos. The service was superb and the food really was something else. Both the grilled Octopus (with bacon jam) and Vegan Burger were some of best food we have ever eaten

Came twice during our week to Kos, amazing cocktails but on the slightly higher side for Kefalos but very very good. Had the buffalo burger both times and quiet possibly one of the best burgers I've ever had

Sydney bar & grill was just fantastic. The food was amazing the service and staff are so friendly and even got to use the shishas which was a nice treat indeed! Amazing music choices too

I highly recommend this bar/restaurant for a night out. You can even stay there which i found out on my last evening of the holiday

The garden is lovely around the pool, got very busy round by the pool so its worth saving a bed when you go for breakfast which is 7 to 10. The pool bar and snacks are very reasonable but again can get busy

Good hotel, great versatile tasty food. Great location, 100 m away from sea. 20 min walk from a city center. Rooms are little dated, but clean, and big enough

Mixed bag this one,the hotel is clean and presentable but don't expect 4 star luxury because it isn't. Pool area is nice as is all communal areas,pool doesn't open until 10 which is far too late given the temperature

Only one thing I didn't like - tough mattresses So it is a good choice for a reasonable price

Location is about a 20 minute pleasant walk into Kos town,there is a bus stop outside but we found the buses unreliable. Decent enough beach right outside the hotel as well as a small supermarket

We are here for 7 nights, actually the second day. Room furniture is a bit old but everything works. Staff is very kind, professional and helpful. Especially the receptionist Irene, very kind and helpful person
