Lagas Aegean Village in Kardamaina

Definitely not a 4 star hotel worn and tired,needs to be updated,the WIFI is hit and miss especially in the rooms,only supply a kettle so bring your coffee and tea,some staff miserable as is the owner who walks around with a brick of a mobile phone giving out orders and never smiles,much nicer hotels within the vicinity,hotel a little out of the way you can walk into Kardameina but the foot path is hit and miss and the area is certainly not clean,if you need to book a trip book this in Kardameina as nearly double with TUI ,would not return we did read other reviews so thought we would give it a try but sorry definitely not again weather ok but there are a lot of flies and even birds in the restaurant and staff didn’t do anything,this is a honest and true review

I would like to start by saying that I would gladly return to Lagas because it is a peaceful place where you can relax and enjoy the last days of summer, long after summer has ended in Italy. I found the resort clean and well maintained, both inside and in the beautiful outdoor areas. The pool was lovely, there was a nearby beach with deckchairs and a kitchen which, although not particularly well-stocked, was good and offered quality food. All in all, it could have been a relaxing stay. The value for money is really good in my opinion and for all these reasons I would have liked to return... However, there were some critical aspects that affected the serenity of the holiday and which are essentially the same complaints I read in many reviews and considered excessive before arriving at the resort. Instead, I found that they are all true and objective: the main and most serious one is having to pay for water at dinner. I'm not saying you should give me free drinks, I understand that customers could take advantage of that, but at least water should be free, after all, we are on half board. If it's because of waste, put in some dispensers, but water should be free. Instead, every evening at the end of the meal, we have to pay the bill, preferably in cash. Three euros for a 1.5-litre bottle, three euros and forty pence for 33 ml of sparkling water. Too much. Another incomprehensible rule is that you cannot choose which table to sit at, and while I understand that you should not occupy tables with more seats than there are members in your group, honestly, seeing young and old people being reprimanded, even vehemently, on the first day of their arrival because they did not know this rule was really terrible. Some were even asked to get up and change tables with the same number of seats. Absurd. What seems like a nice gesture of courtesy on the part of the maître d' who accompanies you to your seat is actually an unquestionable order. But then on the last evening we were also reprimanded: we had a flight after dinner, so we entered the dining room with our rucksacks on our shoulders. A bottle of water was sticking out of the side pocket of one of them (which, incidentally, had been purchased in the hotel shop). Well, after greeting us and accompanying us to our table, the maître d' saw the bottle and ran after us shouting, 'No outside water on the table, no outside water on the table!'. But who put it there? It's not like we took it out of our rucksacks! It's the last night, we know the military rules of this village by now! Then there's the sore point of the waiters' rudeness. Okay, in eight days there, I always saw the same people at breakfast and dinner without ever taking a break, and I imagine they are stressed, but apart from this justification, they are rather grumpy and rude, especially if you tell them you don't have cash to pay for drinks and have to use your card!
