Stayed here with my wife, parents and my brother and sister-in-law. We all got private rooms and had sightseeing adventures set up for every day of our visit. Not your normal stay.. We like novelty stays and camping and this fit both in a country we never thought we would visit. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The communal facilities were spotlessly clean for a campsite and the accommodations were amazing. Thanks for the memory

The service staff in the hotel are very friendly and the prices in the restaurant are very reasonable. The room in the camping area has a comfortable temperature and the bed is very comfortable, but the space is a bit insufficient and not suitable for luggage. The bathroom and toilet are outside but it's warm and not cold at all.

We had unfortunate luck with the weather, but the stay was a cool experience. Check in was seamless and extremely pleasant. Felt very welcomed, and if we ever find ourselves back in Iceland we definitely would stay here again.

This stay made our trip! Clean, comfy, really well heated domes with heated mattresses etc. Best part was, after a cloudy night not spotting much I woke up at 6am for the bathroom and there was a whole light show above the domes! This was an unexpected delight. The owners take pride in their clamping decor and really made an extra special place for visitors to stay. They showed us around and explained things very well and the sleep area is huge with a full table n chairs, too. Loved it!!

The perfect cottage! I loved this cottage and was so sad to leave! I have never stayed at such a comfortable and cozy place. We arrived late at night and it was such a breath of fresh air walking into the cottage. Everything was just perfect. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. We were close to the golden circle and south coast so a slow exploration of the area was possible.

Four of us stayed in Cottage #2 for five nights. The cottages are really lovely - everything you could need to make simple meals. The location is perfect for seeing everything from the Golden Circle to Vik and the Westmann Islands. Selfoss is a short drive and the Food Hall there is a great place for dinner. Highly recommend these cottages.

Room was in a decent condition but not exactly comfortable. The couch in the room was little disgusting to sit on. I have stayed in the property 6 or 7 years ago and was in better shape at that time.

Really bad reception service, the doors couldn’t be locked from inside or outside. The door was opened by the wind at night. The electrify shouted down at night without knowing any reason then the room became all dark. The air condition is noisy and vibrated all night.

Surprised by so many rave reviews, I’d give this place a 3.5 at most. Views are great from the deck (get there by sunset if you can) but the bathroom is not ideal. Very good living environment and living conditions, suitable for business trips

It was a beautiful cottage with a river view. They had all the amenities we needed at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this place to families travelling with children.

Charming cabin within the sound of a rushing river. Peaceful despite being part of a larger campground, check in and out were very easy. We only stayed one night so did not get to use either the indoor sauna or back deck hot tub. A little tight for five adults, so if you stay longer than a night or two I don’t recommend a full complement of six.

Stayed at Gladheimar in one of the, one bedroom cabins. Great clean, comfortable and functional self catering facilities, with amenities within walking distance if required. Very helpful owner and Wifi within the cabin great as well, recommend a stay here if travelling in the area

It's ok, but needs some renovation. The rooms are clean, the beds ok. But the shower.... But there is a sauna and a hot pot.

I cannot recommend these cottages enough! They are in the perfect location: not too far from Reykjavik or the southern coast, next to the beautiful Thingvellir national park, surrounded by gorgeous mountains, and very quiet and secluded. The cottage space was utilized so well, including a cook top, kettle, and other kitchen necessities, as well as TV that rotates to the couch and bed, and easy-to-use...

The location is very clean, and you have a small kitchenette to cook some hot food if you like. It's a great spot to look at the Aurora when it appears. Also, they have some games that you can play with the family. It's a quiet location to enjoy some strolls near the lake or in a small forest.

The bathroom was a bit dirty, likely because the window above the toilet was always open, resulting in dust accumulation on the toilet, sink, and floor. The kitchen had a portable induction cooker, and the tableware was fairly complete, but some dishes had some grease residue. The overall environment was quite nice.

This place was awesome! We stayed at several places along the Ring Road, and this was our favorite place. The views are beautiful and the cabin has everything you need…even a towel warmer. I’d definitely recommended staying here.

Cottage lovely, food good. No sleep due to blasting music and drunken shouting by a group 9pm-2am, got a migraine. Nothing about quiet time or expected behaviour. When I complained, the guy knew but 'nothing I can do'. Messaged for hours during the noise, noone ever replied. Not good enough. Real shame as a repeat guest I came for peace and got none.

The location is good, about 40 minutes from the geyser, and it is quite dark around at night. The houses are built around three hot spring pools. You can soak in the hot springs at night while watching the stars and the aurora. At least one of them is hot 24 hours a day. Self check-in and check-out. 2 rooms and a living room. The rooms are clean. All necessary information is in the file. We checked in at 2 a.m. and checked out at 7 a.m. It was very easy.

It was lovely and warm. The cottages facilities were satisfactory for our needs. The location was very convenient for exploring the Myvatan area. I absolutely loved staying in this cabin. The remoteness and ability to disconnect is exactly what I was looking for. The hot tub, outdoor BBQ and kitchen were fantastic. The peaceful surroundings were so nice as well as the hiking trail next to the cabin.

The pastoral setting for these cottages was beautiful. I loved taking a walk on the trail mowed into the adjacent field for that purpose watching and listening to the birds that were nesting there. I even saw an owl on one of those walks. The private hot tub was the highlight of the cottage itself, and we appreciated having access to the grill. We had a good time. We left everything in order. But the landlady sent a message: I want to say that my house is a mess; you left it in a terrible state, completely unusable. And did you also scatter food in the forest? My dogs found it and ate it. I hope they don't get sick. And what's worse, you left the door open! There are mice in the forest, I don't want them in my house! I don't understand...

This was a very cute stay. The view from the property was awesome. And there were many things to do around the area, even though it felt secluded.

The cottage was perfect for a couple days exploring the area. Very clean and cosy. The kitchen had everything we could need. Only challenge was that we never received check-in instructions and key code. We had to call the property owner to get the key code.

Perfect place to stay This beautiful cottage was an excellent place to stay for our family. We slept well, it was quiet and having a full kitchen was perfect for our dinner and breakfast. It was a bit confusing with finding a code to open the door in our reservation materials. Thankfully the key box was not locked (so we didn’t need the code) to obtain the house key.

Property itself is nice but there were lots of midges around and we all got a good bite. Insect still got into the property even with windows closed. It would have been nice if we knew it beforehand then we can bring some repellent. Another thing was we never received any check-in information (code for lock) but luckily we were able to reach the property owner by phone.

We really loved this place. It is in the middle of nowhere - but everything in Iceland kind of is. It was so peaceful here. The cottage was bigger than i imagined. The kitchen has basics like salt/pepper/oil. Close to the famous golden circle destinations so you get an early start in the loop before the rest of the tourists join in.

This is my 2nd time in Iceland and my second stay at these cottages. The location is ideal between the west and the north. The cottages are very nicely appointed and spacious. Was lucky enough to see the Northern lights here 2x now. Horseback riding is offered which I also did and was quite nice, horses are well behaved. This place exceeded our expectations! It was beautiful, clean, and peaceful. The hot tub was amazing! We only spent one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. The property sent a message immediately after booking with clear check instructions and the address.

Communication was excellent. Nice, quiet location. You have to fill the tub yourself on arrival which takes some time, but instructions were clear and easy. A great spot!

We had a great winter stay. The views were sunning. Loved looking at the snow covered views from the hot tub. Star gazing and northern lights when it got dark. Plenty of space around the accommodation for the children to explore/ go sledging. Also conveniently located for whale watching from Dalvik

Great property just outside Dalvik. Our cottage was clean and the communication with the host was great. We really enjoyed the view of the valley from the deck and had an amazing time using the BBQ and relaxing on the hot tub. Fast Wi-Fi connection, our family had a great time here. Value for money too

We enjoyed this property for our 2 night stay. The rental unit looks brand new and is furnished very well. It was probably the largest and nicest rental units we stayed in for our entire two week trip. It was nice to have the space! We stayed in a campervan not a cottage, but this had everything we needed! It was about 5000 ISK for 2 people. We stayed in October so there were only about 4 other vans and no midges (bugs) that other people experienced. The amenities were nice and had everything we needed: showers, toilets, cooking tent. The toilets had the heat cranked inside so it was very warm. Showers are communal with no curtains

Cozy cabin with great views close to everything. Loft is kind of cramped but would work great for kids. Not sure why previous guests complain about the bugs as they must have came the wrong time of year, so that’s on them. Hardly any bugs here in mid Aug, perfect cool weather.

We had a wonderful stay at Sea Side Cottages in heavenly calm Eyrarbakki. The cottage and especially the kitchen was extremely well equipped. This was quite important as the town is very small and you need a car to get anything. Internet service was stable at all times.

Cottages need to be just assigned by the numbers. 2 rooms with 2 single beds in each and a sofa that pulls out to a double bed. Very cute cottages. They have signs for different sights to see in the area. The view from the cottage was beautiful. They have a restaurant but it closes in August.

I heard this cottage’s location is really good (from my friend who travelled Iceland more than ten times). also, google map let me know the right direction. I had to pay extra for the linen cover etc. I already knew about that. so it was not a problem for me. The day we(couple) wanted to stay at, there was no room left except the big room which is for 10 people maybe. I made a reservation anyway...
