The hotel is very close to the city center, especially since we rented a car, and there are plenty of supermarkets and shops nearby. The restaurant downstairs serves delicious dinner, and the breakfast is surprisingly rich, even offering instant noodles!

Well located, the main turistic street in Rekyavik starts right in front of the hotel. The hotel is cosy, with good size rooms and refreshed. The breakfast is great as well and the restaurant is open also for lunch and dinner. The SPA is lovely has two warm tubs and a saun and a small gym I.

We paid an upgrade to a twin superior and had early access to the room which we were grateful for, following an early flight. Twin superior room was spacious, coffee machine, fridge and kettle provided, bathroom was great. Really comfy beds. Staff were fantastic and breakfast was superb, loads of choice. Would thoroughly recommend.

Group of people from an undisclosed Asian country came in with a large group and “unpacked” for 3 plus hours, leaving all of their doors open so they could more efficiently communicate room to room and sit in the hallway we all shared. The hotel sits on a street corner, with easy access to the city centre and a nice view of the harbour. Clean and warm, with enjoyable breakfast. The sauna and relaxation areas are not huge, but offer a nice opportunity to unwind after a long day out in the cold weather. The staff are friendly and happy to help with eating suggestions and deals available. I would definitely go back in the future.

Hotel is in a great location (close to bus stop 5 which you'll get why knowing bus stop numbers is ideal as this is where you wait for yours to pick up or bus to the airport). Breakfast is good and close to harbour means nice views. Just come with an idea of spending more than you think as that is how Iceland is! Blue Lagoon is a must...!

The room facilities are complete and the space is quite large. It's very close to the pier, making it a great choice if you're planning a whale-watching trip. The hotel's hygiene is good, and it's super close to Boss Zhu's restaurant, highly recommended!

The location is excellent, within walking distance to the city's popular attractions, restaurants, cafes, etc. The room is relatively small, but comfortable. The bathroom is relatively small, especially the wash basin. The so-called buffet breakfast is not bad, but there is not much choice of food. The hotel service and staff are very friendly and helpful.

We had a great stay at Stracta - the chalet style rooms were not a surprise as we looked through all photos on booking before choosing to stay. The only negative I can say is that the shower was really tight, the two doors don’t really work well. Highly recommend! We stayed in one of the rooms with the private hot tubs. The room was very spacious and well laid out. The rooms were very clean and so was the hotel. The only thing was the shower is the room wasn’t working at its best, only the one showerhead was working. The food was good. In the area there isn’t a lot so you have to drive. Spent 2 nights in Stracta hotel during summer. We were given a room in the outdoor without shelter, so it was quite a hassle when it rained. Otherwise the room was pretty standard size, squeezy for 3 people, would be fine for 2. Didn't manage to try the hot tub as it was full with patrons. Do not forget the complimentary drinks, Cheers!

I stayed for 13 days, room 305. I felt so much at home I didnt want to leave. Location, can't really beat it, the sushi across the street was to die for. Great spot, central to alot of amazing places in Reykjavik. Clean, comfortable, and friendly staff. Perfect spot for walking and exploring the city. Morning breakfast was full of yummy options, and easy on the wallet. Allowing the ability to splurge guilt free on other Iclandic goodies (try the shark) Great happy hour prices as well!! Cannot wait to stay here again on our next adventure.

Location cleanliness and amenities 

Really good location, near the city centre area and the service is awesome. Super friendly service staff and bar tender. Hotel looks great and the rooms are clean. Just take note some of their rooms at the top floor has the constraints of the roof where the ceiling is slanted, you may knock your head like i did. And the lighting can be quite dim. We arrived late but Cindy was there to greet us and give us our key and overview of the property. She was also there at the excellent breakfast and chatted with us about her life in Iceland and gave us recommendations for things to do in the area. We saw whales from the pier and walked along the quiet beach. Overall an excellent stay.

My family of four had a lovely stay at the Holt Inn. The room was spacious and clean; the property nestled in a gorgeous and peaceful valley; and the hostess Cindy (whom my 2.5 and 4.5 year olds loved) was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. To top it off, we saw the northern lights and about a million stars from the hot tub!

This was an excellent experience. The Inn is fairly simple. It's comfortable. The rooms are pretty basic, very clean and comfortable. The common areas are basic and clean and comfortable. There's a microwave in the dining area if you have leftovers or bring something simple. There's a cookie basket in the evenings. There's also a communal refrigerator in there. Breakfast is a buffet . The hotel in Iceland was not too bad, but for the price, I expected more in terms of equipment and services. The room was quite basic, and amenities were limited. This hotel ceases to be a student residence during the summer. The rooms are clearly for student use. There is an elevator available upon request and only for people with reduced mobility. The breakfast buffet is acceptable. There is a proper restaurant on the other side.

Great location, simple, clean room. Walls are a little thin, could hear other doors being opened and closed. There was some space along the street to drop off luggages, hotel recommended a couple of nearby parking garages which were all walkable even in the insane wind. Our room was clean and well organized, and the bed was very comfortable. It was easy to regulate the heat/cold by simply adjusting the radiators and/or opening the windows. This was one of the better hotels I stayed at during my trip to Iceland. The environment was clean and tidy, and the room was quite spacious. The female front desk staff's attitude towards Asians was a bit indifferent, while the male staff was very enthusiastic; the difference in attitude was quite noticeable. Hotel was clean and nice. Location is 1.5hr away to Vik etc but was a great stop for us coming down from the north. Didn’t manage to see any aurora here as the weather was cloudy.

The place to stay is very close to the church. Service is so-so. Breakfast is okay. Eating at KFC nearby is the most cost-effective option; places like Da Shi Dai are just a few minutes' walk away. I ate there. The pizza was over 200 kilos, and the crust was completely burnt. I saw other people were also complaining. A bowl of noodles was 170 kilos, a fried rice was 200 kilos, a taco was 120 kilos...

This hotel has a very stylish design, and the price is surprisingly reasonable. The bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, and small windows are all very tasteful. The hotel also has free parking, which is very convenient.

This was our second time staying at Hótel Húsafell. Both times have been amazing. The staff is all very friendly. The restaurant meals were delicious. The room and hotel is comfortable and cozy. The hotel can coordinate several great excursions. We did the lava cave tour and the cannon baths; both were great. They provide a Northern Lights wake-up call, which helped us catch the lights.

What an incredible stay! I was traveling with my grandmother and they went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. We saw the auroa borealis and had an incredible meal. The rooms were clean and the location was nice, but the rooms were a little dated looking. For the price I wasn’t too impressed with the quality of the rooms, and I thought breakfast was lackluster. I can not say enough about this Hotel! The location is perfect if want to see the Northern Lights. The staff at Landhotel are amazing. Adel helped us map out all the must see places and then told us about ones only the locals know about. The food at Tindur was delicious. Erik’s recommendations were on point every time. Can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ion. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the lava spa was very relaxing. We had a great dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. If you're sensitive to smells, definitely don't stay here. The sulfur smell is overwhelming; it woke me up twice in the middle of the night. The water also has a strong sulfur smell. Writing this review reminds me of that stench, and it makes me shudder.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Golden Circle attractions and a park. Nearby, you can witness geothermal steam rising from the ground.

Good hotel in a great location, close to many interesting places. Rooms clean and reasonably large. Mattresses in bed rather hard for those who like soft beds. Staff helpful.

This hotel room was super clean . The staff was helpful and the location of this hotel just beside the road side . Easy to get here. We are lucky to see the aurora just behind the hotel. Will come back again next time .

Stayed 1 night in well located spot very near petrol station, supermarkets and even a 4.8 score restaurant for dinner. Rooms are clean, comfortable and fairly big size. Reception staff was extremely responsive when he spotted us having difficulty opening the main door fighting with strong gusty winds.
