its big. the nights we were there the kitchen area turned into a lot of fun. A bunch of people trying to cook in, and have a few drinks to save money turned into a big group out on the town.
Probably the cheapest accommodation in whole Iceland and the equipment is accordingly. The rooms consisted of concrete floor, 4 walls, one jacket rack and beds. No table, no chair and nothing else. This is fine though, since you get what you pay for. The comon area is spacious and the kitchen has everything that you need for simple meals. Also the location is decent and only a 15 minute walk from the...
Took this photo in the lobby on my vacation a few months ago. Tried to figure it out who it was. Took me a minute but that's Eddie Sparks. The guy who found anonymous in the US. He's super famous in tech. Hotel was nice with the bar and outside area with roof access too.

Stayed here 5 nights from Dec 13-18. Staff: very friendly staff, especially the gentleman at the front. Very helpful and courteous - the gentleman at the front was very kind to guide me to the best spots and tell me what to avoid. Made my life so much easier. Cleanliness: I saw them with my own eyes clean the bed, bedsheets, and pillow after my roommate had left, literally 30 minutes later. Gave...
We had a good night here. You can easily reach the city centre and our room was cozy and clean. The guy at the reception was really friendly and helpful. Check in, check out and every special handling we needed because of catching our flight was easy and comfortable. We can recommend to stay here.
The location is great only few minutes walking from the center, there is plenty of parking outside the hostel. The room was big and clean, the beds are good. We have shared toilet, but never saw anyone else. The kitchen is well equipped for breakfasts and cooking. The receptionist was nice, but not so informative. Overall a good place.
This place sucks. No amenities. No helpful staff. “Common area” is a tent outside. Vacuuming and yelling at 11pm. When it says “parking on site” that’s a lie. Yeah, no. Don’t stay here.
THEY SAVED MY VACATION: I'm a backpack traveler who wanted a cheap place to stay. This place is great, I stayed in the other building which is a block or so away. There was one key for my room and one key for the other building which made it feel a lot like I lived there. The front desk gave me a map that showed the main building, my building, and were to find the bus terminal for all of the out of...
Really comfortable and warm. Staff were great. We had a private which was small but enough room for two and our bags. Showers are clean, warm and have great water pressure. It's right near the centre with free parking all around. Defiantly recommend.

Reykjavik, Skógarhlíd 10 🧭 Map
Not badly located, not far from the center and the bus terminal. The inconvenience was that there was no socket near the bed.
The bus hostel is really near the airport and quite walkable to major sightseeing like 20-30 minutes. Yet the Windows curtain could not even cover it well so if you sleep near a Windows in summer (as the night will be very bright) You will affect by the light. There was men snoring really hard so it affect as well (though this is not about the hotel) I got nose allergy and the entire time I stay...
Awesome traveling experience here.
As a hostel, the cleanliness is good. But the kitchen area is really small for big groups of travellers. Location wise, it is a little far from the city center. But for us, it only takes 20-25 minutes of walking. It is acceptable. The convenient thing is that we can depart the hostel and to the airport directly (usually it needs to transit at the Reykjavik terminal for airport shuttles).
Always nice and clean! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Not so many travelers during my stay, so no waiting for the shower rooms. Perfect for the price.
nice hostel, nice staff and with bus connecting the airport.

It's a lovely place. Pocket friendly and spacious rooms, 24 hour access to guest kitchen. Kids playing are is very good my kids loved it.very generous staff. Beautiful hearted people. I recommend this place 😊
I really loved this place. Everything was clean and easy in use. The people are really friendly. I would recommended this hostel. I took a room with 4 beds and only for women.
Easy check-in. Friendly staff. Nice bedding. You pay extra for bedding and towels. Towels were expensive to rent. The property has lots of great amenities and very family friendly. A very welcoming atmosphere. The washing machines and dryer were free. Which is great except the dryer doesn't really work (one was broken and the other barely worked). I'd prefer to pay a little and get a working dryer...
HI Dalur Hostel is excellent!! Its in a part of Reykjavik that tourists rarely see. That has a lot of nice amenities (botanical garden, zoo, etc) Great way to change up your trip. The city swimming pool is a very short walk. Facilities are clean and friendly (with laundry available) The front desk girls Katie and Morgan are absolute dolls. Cute and great customer service.
We had a rental car so being just outside downtown wasn't an issue for us. Great location and just a few short minutes to drive anywhere in town. We had a private room and never had any issues. We especially loved the kitchen and being able to make our own meals since eating out is crazy expensive compared to the US. Another thing we loved was their focus on being green. There were proper trash/compost...
Great hostel, only water pressure in showers is bad and bathrooms can be cleaner. Kitchens and rooms are clean. They have big parking space. Hostel is in quite place, near city center. Big place to hanging.

The front staff were friendly and always available. The room and all bedding were clean. The bathrooms were of a public restroom style and the showers were in a locker room style. The kitchen area was a bit cramped for countertop space with no place to store non-refrigerated foods. The refrigerator was packed full and was hard to find room for my items. The location and price were great.
A good hostel/hotel. The students stayed in dorms which served the purpose and were clean with shared showers. Staff had comfortable rooms on the same floor or better rooms in the hotel above. Was a little crowded at one point as they had three big groups in, but they managed the breakfast sittings well. Good food in the packed lunches and for dinner was very good.
Very clean, pleasant accommodations. Staff was friendly, and helpful if you needed any sort of assistance. Great place to stay, walking distance to most shops and bars with one inside of the Hostel itself. I would definitely stay there again, but would probably inquire into getting a private room.
The location is really great - walking distance to the city center, but also one of the main stops for any tours/excursions that include ground transportation. Beds were clean and comfy though the photos online make the (hostel) rooms look a bit more luxury than they actually are. The bathrooms (specifically the showers) were not great - tiny shower stalls with vinyl curtains that you have to try not...
The lobby, bar, bistro and lounge areas are wonderful. But the rooms, kitchens, bathrooms are yucky. At least four outlets in the 12 bed room didn't work. At least two of the bed lamps didn't work. The kitchen was a dirty disaster from people being pigs and not cleaning up properly. There were fabric seat cushions in the kitchen that we're practically black with stains and grime. There was a two person...
The staff were incredibly kind helpful, I arrived 8 hrs too early for check in and they let me stay in the socializing room while I waited for a bed and allowed me to store my things if I had wanted to leave. The entire place is clean and it’s got a great community feel with pretty good social vibes. Was able to connect with people and get groups to travel with and go out with. The bar is nice but...

The facilities are good but I was so angry that the staff took away our food stored in the fridge just because we forgot to write down the date , we have written down our names. One of the staff said that someone might have stolen our food. They advised us to close the floor door so that outsiders couldn't come in. The property looked really beautiful and stylish. Outside you can see horses ( there were even babies:) ) owner was very lovely and welcoming.
Amazing palce to stay with amazing views. Very clean, very good facilities, good communication with the owners, good location. It looks like brand new facility, with all kitchen supplies that you need. I would definitely stay there for longer than one night. The value for price is great, I would definitely recommend it to others.
Great for big groups, well equipped kitchen. No kitchen scissors though. Clean and spacious. Be sure to read their different bins to help with the recycling effort.
Very welcoming and warm! Had a latte and a muffin which were perfect. Free wifi is a plus.
Very nice place, everything is new. The rooms are for 4 people. The kitchen has everything that you need for cooking and there are 6 tables for playing games and eating. This place was a lifesaver. We were almost blown away from our camp site with very high winds and decided to find a room inside. Great kitchen facilities, the most comfortable bed I've slept on in weeks and a lovely cafe behind the hostel. Highly recommend.

Hotel was quite charming. Cleanly and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was included and wasn't lacking anything. We had some car trouble during or stay on a Sunday morning and the host went out of her way to assist us in getting help. We appreciated the kindness. Will be back if our travels bring us to Iceland again.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. Each room has its own private bathroom with a shower. The common/public room has very nice view of the fjord. The complimentary breakfast was very good with a nice variety of "cold" breakfast options. Would happily stay here again. However, do be aware that check-in is at 1600; staff not there for check in prior to 1600.

This is not a Hostel, it's a 3 star hotel, loved my stay. Rooms were very clean, kitchen was fully setup. Free coffee available. Very friendly staff and service. Highly recommended this place for stay. I wish I could have stayed for little longer.
Good hostel to stay at. It was very large, which made it quite busy and loud at times. Cooking facilities and bathrooms were nice (can get busy though). Overall clean and nice facilities, we would return.
Best hostel I have ever stayed at. Cosy and warm, spotlessly clean, excellent facilities and the staff and amazing. Cheaper than much lower standard hostels!
Rooms were clean and the bathroom was alright, had a bit of a weird smell though. Staff was very kind, and the kitchen big with 3 stoves and work spaces. In the morning it gets really crowded though, and the floor gets dirty. Loved the in-between sitting spaces with floor heating, that was really comfortable.
Very clean, had all amenities. Nice sitting area outside the kitchen and dining space. Kitchen was big and fully equipped. Loved the vibe of this hostel. We traveled with 2 kids and they also enjoyed their stay here.

The service is very good. The location of the hotel is very convenient. You can take the bus from the airport to the terminal and walk directly there. No problem. We are a very good hotel in summer. When you get to the bus terminal, you don’t have to enter the reception hall. Just go through the flowers and grass on the path. Of course, you can take your luggage with you. Don't press on the flowers...
It is very convenient to various attractions in the city, cost-effective, and you can do laundry and cooking.
I stayed in a room with an attached bathroom. The space was not large, but the public space had a large kitchen with fully equipped kitchenware and tableware, as well as laundry facilities. This hotel is a bit far from the city. There are no shops or restaurants around, so shopping and dining are inconvenient, but it is relatively quiet. It is next to Toning Lake. It is very comfortable to go for a...
The apartment is right next to the University of Iceland. It is the best international youth hostel I have ever stayed in. Transportation is convenient. It's also convenient to go to the city center. I'm glad I chose the student hostel for my vacation. The rooms and sanitary facilities are clean and functional. The shared kitchen is well stocked and allows flexible meal times. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for exploring the city. Meeting points for excursions can be reached quickly. I am happy to recommend the student Hostel.
This was the perfect place for me and my daughter to stay at. Very clean, very well located (we walked to everywhere in Reykjavik from the hostel), very comfortable and with all the facilities you could wish for. We especially liked the well equipped kitchen and the lovely, big sitting room.

Good place to crash for a night on your way somewhere. Expect paper thin walls, smell of cigarette smoke throughout the nite. Symphony of opening and closing doors. Looks like a bunch of homeless people have established residency here, walking around drinking beer at 9 in the morning. Kitchen was neglected. Staff seemed bored with their lives. Not a holiday place!
One of the best places I stayed at in Iceland! Beats many more expensive places. We stayed in a double room with private bathroom, room was spacious, warm and clean. Kitchen is large and fully equipped, coffee or tea is free all day for the guests and there's a nice and cosy TV room. I would stay here again.
Definitely the best place I've stayed in so far in Iceland (my 4th night here). The room is basic and simple, but it's warm, clean, and comfy, and the bathroom is spacious and placed near to the rooms. What stand out are the common areas -- well-stocked and clean kitchens spread in several places, several sofa and hang out areas, and bright well-lit main dining room. The hostel also provides complimentary...
Very comfortable hostel despite its run down exterior. The lounge and kitchen area were nice to relax in and the dorms were what you would expect. I couldn't seem to find any lockers and the showers were a bit of a let down but this is a low budget place to stay so it helped save a few dollars. Oh and the staff are super friendly and helpful!
We stayed here after high winds in the peninsula kept us from camping. The owner was incredibly friendly and the place was spacious and clean. There were two kitchens and the beds were comfortable. Nice common areas too! We paid $55 each and had a room to ourselves. Lots of hiking around the area too. Highly recommended.

[one of the best campsites I tried in Iceland. great common lounge area with board games, books, live music and bar. kitchen is very well equipped and quite comfortable. showers and wc clean and tidy. highly recommend staying.]
You should go to this hostel! Very friendly owner and service, everthing was super clean yet artsy and cozy. The only reason I am giving 4/5 stars for the room is because the upper beds were very squeaky and I woke up during the night several times and the person was moving. But all in all worth it.
One of the best campsites we visited in our tour around Iceland. There's a communal area with table games, a bar, a well fitted kitchen, two clean showers and toilets... 1500 isk per night and person with a campervan. We arrived quite late (almost midnight) but we could still check in and they were really nice to us.
Amazing surrealistic place in the middle of nowhere! The cultural spirit and creativity are exploding in this place in magical Snafellsnes. Warmly welcoming, home-like feeling and down to earth approach / just brilliant!

This place was really clean for a hostel but it was a bit expensive (it's Iceland though so it's to be expected) and the towels had to be rented. Great hostel. Everything is well thought. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment and bathrooms were clean. The room was also simple, fresh and new.
Beautiful location, right in front of the water. Cozy rooms with everything you need. Very friendly hotel staff with quick and easy check-in.
Very cozy charming accommodations full of icelandic history. Very small establishment so service is slow because of limited staff available. Food was okay, we ate lamb (not very tender), soup didn't have a lot of flavor and the yogurt dessert is an acquired taste. This is not a place I would recommend if you are looking for northern lights. You will have to drive away from the area.
Great place to rest, they have kitchen so preparing food will be easy, i could recommend from bottom of the heart.
Great location to see northern lights. Could use a northern lights service and an option for feather free pillows and blankets. A reminder to check the radiator upon arrival would be helpful. My weren't already on so the room was a bit chilly. Food is good at hotel restaurant. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean but could use updating.
For the same price in Reykjavik we had a bad hostel. Cleaned, elegant and lovely hotel just in front of the harbor (the anciest in Iceland). Really appreciated.
