A really clean, warm and quiet room with a large TV, fridge, safe, a kettle & decent quality tea & coffee.

The bathroom is fine, and the shower flow rate is good.

Breakfast is amazing and worth it 👏 & happy hour is also worth taking advantage of.

The location is on the outskirts of the very busiest part of downtown Reykjavik, but still central and a stones throw from the ocean walkway.

Down points - one lift to facilitate floors 0 - 5 and so can sometimes incur a noticeable wait.

Also, if you smoke, at night you may be left at the porch in
subzero temperatures, if the night shift person is doing errands and isn't there to let you back in when you've finished smoking.

Great hotel, the staff super friendly and service is amazing. Just a little nitpick is the placement of the TV position is a little odd. But the room is super spacious and with a little balcony that faces the seaside which makes winter night viewing in Iceland just on another level entierly.

The accommodation seemed old, but it was in good condition.
The only downside was that the bathroom didn't drain properly.
It's fine for a short overnight stay.

The shower was so tiny; the shower head is not adjustable so my hair got wet every time I got in the shower, the shower curtain clung to my body, and the water got all over the bathroom floor. The blow dryer worked for 60 seconds and then needed to charge for a full minute before using it again. The two single beds pushed together were not comfortable - I could feel the springs; however the pillows & comforter were nice.  The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is the best part, but I probably wouldn’t stay here again for the price due to the shower and bed.

Near the beach. Caught northern lights just outside hotel opposite the road. Freezing cold, windy but worth all the effort when northern lights appears .

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and it was my second time here, which really says it all. Once again, everything was excellent from start to finish. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The location is ideal, making it easy to get around and enjoy the area. Having stayed here before, I knew what to expect, and the hotel still managed to meet (and even exceed) my expectations. I felt very comfortable and well looked after during my stay. I would happily return again and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Location & Environment: Located in the city center or by the sea, the hotel is surrounded by attractions, shopping malls, and restaurants within walking distance, offering excellent transportation access. It's close to bus stops and the pier, perfect for exploring the local area on foot. Most travelers emphasize its excellent location, providing quick access to major tourist areas and shopping centers, and the availability of supermarkets and other amenities nearby, enhancing the convenience of your stay.

Facilities & Cleanliness: Rooms are generally clean and well-equipped, including comfortable beds, ample storage space, and modern appliances. Some room types offer spacious rooms and good soundproofing, ensuring a high quality of accommodation. While some reviews mentioned a slightly cramped bathroom design, overall cleanliness was generally well-received and met expectations.

Service Quality: Front desk staff are friendly and professional, proactively assisting guests with itinerary planning, providing transportation information, and resolving unexpected needs. Service processes are efficient, such as quick check-in and check-out.

It's a very basic hotel, like a guesthouse. They even charge extra for parking. It's probably one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is also mediocre; it's not very close to the city center, and you have to walk a while to get anywhere.

Great pizza. ?

Told there was a 30 minute wait for food, we were there for an hour and a half because they 'gave our pizza to someone else'. They didnt have a record of our order when it came to getting a refund. Total waste of time. If you're dead set on pizza go somewhere else.
27.10.2017 David
They somehow lost my pizza, probably gave it away accidentally. Over 1 hour waiting. Also quite expensive. Avoid.

Amazing pizza. The crust is thinned to the perfect size. The menu is completely in Icelandic, so it was hard to figure out, but very good either way

Excellent lobster soup, tasty porterhouse steak cooked to perfection. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Ambient could benefit from some improvements.

Food was good, service was good, prices were as expected. Food prices in Iceland are very high compared to other countries, especially for beef. This premium steakhouse is no exception.

The service was pretty good compared to other restaurants I visited in Iceland.

Nothing about my experience was bad, but this isn't a *MUST GO* restaurant for tourists in Iceland.

I had 2 pizzas in this town. First one was in "No name pizza" place, and that one was outstanding. In this pizzeria it was just normal, good pizza. So it is safe to visit. But... It is just normal...

Delicious wood fired pizza (you can see the pizza oven in the kitchen). Medium pizza was plenty for 1 person and reasonably priced compared to internationally well known pizza chains. Free fizzy drink refills. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only in Reykjavik for 4 nights, but having tried a few other restaurants here, we've decided to return to Eldsmidjan for our final night evening meal.

Best pizza we've had! Staff friendly, fast service and great tasting pizza, highly reccomend. Well worth it and get more than your moneys worth
23.09.2017 Jonas
This pizza spot is right on the main shopping street in downtown Reykjavik. Nice beer selection and laid back atmosphere. My only negative comment here is the sauce. Very basic with very little flavor. Crust was excellent.
21.06.2017 Richard
Summary based on one dinner:
-very good pizza, easily comparable to just about any expectation
-service upstairs friendly, but can be a bit slow when busy, which is understandable. We didn't have to wait for seating.
-medium sized is good for dinner, perhaps small. We mistakenly got a large & a medium after ordering two mediums and had enough for another dinner the next night. Take away box provided and we weren't charged extra for the large.
-typical prices for this area
-credit cards accepted
-didn't ask about wifi
-parking wasn't an issue since we walked
