We had a great stay. Very attentive staff and Elenor made our checkin very smooth and answered all our questions. Perfect location to see the city. Rooms are clean and spacious. Would definitely stay there if we got back to Reykjavík. We also drove ten mins to the lighthouse and saw the best view of northern lights!

They said they'd provide a breakfast box, but I didn't receive one. I guess they forgot.

The location is great and convenient especially for us who booked the day tours and it’s 4-5min walk to bus stop 4.

Especially the receptionist Rica is really kind and helpful and she generously offered us an upgraded.

And we do appreciate the CNY greetings both from the reception but also for the card with orange. Also as my hubby’s birthday is during the stay, I asked months before if birthday decorations is available and eventually got a birthday cake and a card but with wrong name lol

The facility (needs to turn off the lights one by one instead of all-in-one) and hygine situation is not that good in terms of the 5-star hotel. (Hair in the sheet cover and the toilet)(no clean up for the desserts)

The tides restaurant and cafe is good and worth trying with ISK 7000 credit for the restaurant.

No chance to try the spa.

From the moment you arrive, The Reykjavik EDITION sets the tone: understated luxury, cool Nordic design, and a calm confidence that makes you instantly feel at home.
The ambience is effortlessly stylish — modern yet warm, with clean lines, beautiful materials, and a subtle buzz in the lobby and bar that makes it feel alive without ever being loud. It strikes that rare balance between boutique intimacy and international sophistication.
What truly elevates the experience, though, is the staff. Sweet, attentive, and exceptionally well trained, they combine professionalism with genuine warmth. You feel welcomed, not processed. Every interaction — from check-in to restaurant service — reflects care and precision.
The restaurant is a highlight in itself. Thoughtfully curated dishes, high-quality ingredients, and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere make it a destination even if you’re not staying at the hotel. It’s the kind of place where dinner easily turns into a long, enjoyable evening.
Perfect location. Right by the harbor, within walking distance to Reykjavik’s main streets, shops, and cultural spots — yet peaceful enough to retreat from the city’s energy whenever you choose.
The Reykjavik EDITION delivers exactly what a modern luxury stay should: cool ambience, excellent service, strong culinary offering, and a location that makes exploring effortless. A place you genuinely look forward to returning to.

A once-in-a-lifetime trip made more meaningful and charming by world-leading staff and service.
We messaged ahead and told them that we were on our honeymoon. Iceland is a unique place on Earth, but almost as surprising as the geology, geography and weather was just how remarkable and excellent this hotel was. Its location was outstanding right in the old city centre and an easy walk to boat trips (for organised bus trips, which all use the same bus stop numbering, the nearest bus stop is number 5, about 5 minutes’ walk away), the breakfast was splendid and the room was unbelievably cosy, which was particularly welcome after a winter’s day adventuring amongst the ice and snow and especially the epic and cold wind.

This once-in-a-lifetime trip was made extraordinarily special by the outstanding and attentive staff who really impressed with their thoughtfulness and commitment to excellence throughout. We cannot thank the whole team enough, both everyone we met as well as everyone who worked behind the scenes, for delivering a world-leading stay.

We felt exceptionally lucky to have chosen this hotel, and so delighted that we did!

My Fiancé and I had a wonderful experience at the Edition in Reykjavik. We dined at the Tides restaurant earlier in the week for my birthday and had an exceptional meal and service. The food was an explosion of flavours and so well balanced. We then returned yesterday for our Anniversary after travelling around the island. The staff were exceptional and made us feel exceptionally welcome. Massive acknowledgment for Morgan and Daniele who welcomed us with open arms and were so wonderfully polite and kind. They offered us tips and a gin masterclass which we joined and was exceptional. The room was stunning with magical views of the harbour we felt we had struck gold. We did have a not so good experience in the sky bar with a waitress's but Enrique more than made up for it and showered us like kings. We had met Enrique earlier on on my birthday and what an asset to the hotel he is. He and the director of F&B went above and beyond. Sometimes things go wrong I’ve worked in hospitality before but the treatment the staff gave was top tier and we were extremely greatful for the care and service we received afterwards. We will definitely recommend the edition for a premium experience with some superstar members of staff. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you Edition team! Jason & Fabio

We had a brilliant 4 nights in the Edition in Reykjavik, I highly recommend this hotel. There was always someone there greeting at the door which made us feel so welcome.

The room was spacious and warm with under floor heating in the bathroom. The GHD hair dryer was a really nice touch. Plenty of toiletries and towels ect, robes were amazing!

We were always greeted by the lovely lady in the spa. The spa has a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna which were really well kept and really nice after a long day of exploring beautiful Iceland in the cold.

The true star of the show was Themas in the restaurant bar. He was very kind, patient and helpful. We had great chats with him when we were there in the evenings. He gave us many recommendations and he was a really kind and genuine person.

Another shining star was Radek who also looked after us really well. He was so kind and genuine, giving us many recommendations and having great conversations!

Overall the staff in the hotel definitely went above and beyond to meet our needs, and everyone was so kind! They truly are an asset to the hotel!

The rooftop bar was amazing we even managed to see the northern lights from the top! They also provided many free snacks lol nuts and popcorn which I thought was a really nice touch.

There was great buzz here and great views! The hotel is centrally located near bus stop #5. This made it really easy to get around.

We truly recommend this hotel. We had a brilliant stay and hope to come back soon in the future!

*** update to this, we did not receive our full deposit back due to *city tax* which was not specified to us in the beginning. The way it was explained to us was that we had already paid this in advance, and that we received credit to spend in the hotel each night as they *care about their guests*. We were not told that this was a different charge and would not be refunded. We were explicitly told the full amount would be refunded back after our stay (minus whatever charges) Honestly this has really dampened the experience as it was not properly explained which is annoying because I asked for clarification a number of times. I would recommend to anyone to call the hotel and confirm any extra charges before booking, so you are not blindsided the same way we have been, as we feel like we’ve been swindled. It really did feel like the hotel was trying to up-charge everything.***

Nice hotel, very close to the city center and right by the sea. The room design is great, although everything in the mini-bar is chargeable. On the bright side, you can get cold water directly from the bathroom tap. Overall, it was a good experience.

The hotel location is great, very quiet, right next to the pier with a beautiful view.
