We stayed in that hotel for a week with our two children. This is a very nice hotel in a fantastic location. The plus are clearly the beach and the swimming pool. The beach is extremely nice with beautiful pine trees and a very nice restaurant in some kind of a hut (the beach area is protected and it seems difficult/impossible to put uggly buildings on this sea shore). The rooms are nice and the main restaurant is quite nice too. The clientele is a bit old fashioned which is kind of nice. Some people dress really well for dinner and there is a great piano player for after dinner drinks. Overall a good experience. It is clearly not perfect but I would not mind going back.

I had a nice stay although I prefere old historical buildings. But surprisingly I found some old rustic pieces of furniture on the halls of the hotel and I also liked pictures of old ships on the walls. The check in was smooth and I got the room with a nice terrace and a view on the garden with pool. Room was spacious, nice decorated, with a welcome plate of fruits and cakes. Bathroom was also big with everithing I needed. I liked ceramic containers for shampoo and bath foam - not just nice, even eco friendly as they are easily refillable. Breakfast was great, lots of selection, attentive waiters, Parking space is in shadow of big trees. I surprisengly found out they are cork oak trees. I didnt spend much time on the beach. But it is just a short walk away (5 min). And if you dont feel to walk, there is a nice option - shutle in form of an old historical fiat converted in to open roof car.

A memorable stay at the Gallia Palace. Charming hotel of character, which stands out from the often cold and standardized tone of large hotels, great service. Spacious and very pleasant rooms. The cuisine is excellent, from breakfast, to lunch on the beach to dinner, varied and sophisticated menu, a wide choice of great wines. Absolutely up to expectations also the private beach club, to enjoy the tranquillity or take advantage of the equipment available to customers (pedal boats, boards etc.). Also worth mentioning are the spa, for the competence and kindness of the staff, and the small gym very well equipped. The atmosphere of the hotel is unique, you will find loyal customers returning to the place for generations, families with children of all ages, and many couples. A holiday for those looking for a luxurious and refined place, in a relaxing and warm environment, surrounded by an enchanting nature.

Hi We are a family of five and recently stayed at Gallia Palace Hotel in Punta Ala. Maybe first our idea of Punta Ala. It is what one calls ‘past glory’. One could describe it as a development from the sixties with weird concrete architecture. If you are looking for authentic Italian borgos, this is no place for you. Some buildings are Bauhaus, some are … not worth being there. A desolate and shabby shopping mall from the seventies (with some fancy boutiques however)…i don’t think so. When it comes to the hotel, it has the flair of a well maintained building from the sixties or seventies. But it is not pretty, it is an uninviting concrete block with pigeonhole room divisions and dreadful terraces. It gets partly compensated by a very lush and pretty garden and pool area. I suppose this is why you hardly find pictures of the building itself on the official website. There is no sea view since the hotel is located too far from the sea. This however we knew beforehand so this was no issue. Where it goes very wrong is that the official site and *********** mention rooms with park view whereas they are in fact parking view rooms! At a hefty 700€ per room per night it is a definite no go! The rooms with poolview are more costly and have the same dated furniture. So the hotel urgently needs to renovate the rooms if they want to keep attracting clients with deep pockets. For us they were not up for five star expectations. The breakfast buffet is perfect i must admit. All you can wish for is available, the bread is…. Italian and therefore less tasty than French or Northern European breads. In the evening the same restaurant serves as the dining area but that is ok. Waiters are all old-school trained and therefore very attentive, multilingual and polite. The food is top notch and was certainly a plus for us. The shuttle that takes you to the beach is a cute FIAT 850 transformed to a Club car like vehicle. The beach itself is public but the hotel has a reserved area and has enough lounge chairs so no queuing there. The hotel’s beach facilities comprise cute spacious changing cabins set like little round bungalows amidst nature. However, the beach restaurant is like a seventies Club Med circular wooden barn like space. Weird and not cosy at all. There are more restaurants around, so plenty of choice. If you want a lunch at the hotel’s beach restaurant, make sure you reserve a table in the weekend. Otherwise you only get seats away from the sea (compare it to the worst seats in a shopping mall restaurant) where the air is very sticky! So if your budget is unlimited, you mentally got stuck in the late sixties or seventies and you have seen all other coastal areas in Italy, Punta Ala and Gallia Palace Hotel are maybe right for you. For us however, there are nicer places to visit that tick more boxes for the same budget. If you like Italian seaside, go to Forte dei Marmi for instace, it has it all and is no sixties development. This is a Relais & Chateau, and the staff is as responsive as this expects. Rooms are nice if a bit dated. Pool area is good. Spa has a whirlpool, jacuzzi, and wet & dry saunas available on request but monitored to ensure they’re not too busy.

Dining was excellent. I am celiac/gluten-free and staff ensured I was kept safe.

Beach facility is a short shuttle ride (on request) from the hotel. All is nicely laid out and ready. It was a bit reduced by the lateness in the season.

We would visit again.

What it is not--If you are looking for pre-Roman, very cute town with narrow winding streets, overlooking the Mediterrean, with numerous restarants and lovely churches such as Positano (think Siranuse) or, on a smaller scale, Portofino (think Splendido), Gallia Palace is not for you. What it is--a lovely hotel pearched above the Mediterrean with a beach club right on the beach. It is a fantastic venue for rest and relaxation--which is just what we wanted and needed. We stayed a week. The hotel itself is a very fine property. The rooms are large (we had a small suite with a large balcony). The bathroom was very ample with both bath and shower, bidet and the usual amenities. Maid service was great--they seemed to know when you left for breakfast to clean your room and again when you left for dinner for full turn-down service. Lovely bar with pianist in the evenings, beautiful patio overlooking the swimming pool, game room with pool table and games. Many trees and lovely flowers. Golf and tennis available. Dining room is excellent; food truly superb. Formal--linen, etc. For dinner, men wore trousers, most with coats, some with coat and tie. Women very dressy. Table service was superb. On some nights, we were not in the mood for a formal dinner. There were several places on the beach where one could have a pizza, simple fish or pasta. Speaking of the beach, the hotel's beach club was a ten minute walk, but a shuttle (fully restored VW T1 or similar Fiat that was at your service immediately or within 5 minutes) that took less than 5 minutes to get to or from the beach to the hotel. Beach club food was fine; service good. Guests had access to their own umbrella, lounges and a chair. Life guard on duty. What is really special is the atmosphere. The hotel has been operated by the same family from the beginning and is today managed by two of the founder's grandchildren. They are superb--truly superb--hoteliers. On arrival, you are greeted as if you were cousins from abroad coming for a visit to their home. This attitude characterized the entire staff. We noted that the vast majority of the guests we met had stayed at the Gallia for many--some a great many--years. This is a testament to the hospitality provided by the the Gallia. We will return.

The hotel is a bit dated but they have paid excellent attention to updates. It felt a bit like being in the islands (Hawaii, Bermuda, Nevis) where the grand spots are out of touch but we’ll maintained and salt and sand are sort of fixtures. The staff were exceptional, the attention to detail very high, and the location—grounds, bar, and beach—were well manicured and lovely. It’s not in the most convenient location as Punta Als has very few restaurants (though I was there off-season) and limited commercial spaces (the one small grocery store closed at 1pm).

Absolutely superb in every way.A quality location within a short distance of the beach resort where amenities were superb. Interesting attractions locally with the established POLO centre and golf course and range of water sports. The local mini shopping centre had an amazing Art Gallery as well as a range of boutiques.

A very memorable stay at this hotel, discreet and unpretentious with a true class of the old-school. We were made to feel like family by the owner and the wonderful staff throughout our stay, with nothing being too much trouble. We will be back…

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Gallia Palace Hotel and would definitely return. From the moment we entered the hotel, to the moment we left, Ginevra and her whole team were outstanding; in the hotel and at the beach club. They were friendly, attentive and the service was outstanding - the front of house team, the back of house team and everything in between. The hotel, and all the facilities were spotlessly clean, and the food in the restaurants was excellent, presented well and tasted delicious. Thank you Ginevra, and the whole team, for a very special and memorable stay.
