Hotel Certosa Di Maggiano in Siena

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at La Certosa last August, and it was hands-down the best hotel experience we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed . The team was instrumental in helping my now-fiancé set everything up perfectly for our engagement , turning a beautiful moment into pure magic. We had the chance to chat with several staff members, who made us feel so genuinely welcome . La Certosa elevated our entire vacation to another level – the ambiance, service, and little touches made it unforgettable. We can't wait to return and create more memories. If you're planning a trip to Italy, this is the hotel to choose. Five stars all the way! Highly recommended!

We had the great fortune to stay at Cerosa di Maggiano in late September 2025. The property was absolutely lovely and our room was very well appointed. There was a wonderful full restaurant overlooking an inside courtyard which was lovely and the food was excellent. From the moment we arrived to the time left we were blown away by the service. If we could have rated it 10 stars we would have. The best way I can describe it is we were treated like family in a very professional manner. Our every request was met graciously. Our favorite server from the bar, Ricardo, made sure we were well looked after and even shared his homemade limoncello with us. We would not hesitate to stay agin or recommend the hotel to anyone.

A wonderfully characterful hotel set in beautifully arranged gardens with a great pool area. Service was warm and attentive overall, though dinner service felt stretched, with long waits to order and no offer of dessert despite each of us having starters and mains. Breakfast was generous with a wide selection, and the lunch/snack options and dinner menu were strong, complemented by a very good cocktail bar. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, though the bathroom in our executive suite would benefit from a refresh. Conveniently, there’s an easy bus connection into Siena right outside the hotel. A delightful stay with only minor service tweaks needed.

10/10, the property itself is mind blowing, the rooms are spacious and very clean, bed and pillows are very comfortable, the pool is gorgeous, the restaurant is very good, lovely breakfast, bar is very high quality, but what makes this place even more amazing is the people who work here, everyone is just so nice and friendly, they made us feel at home.
We traveled with our 1.5 year old daughter and the staff was so nice to her.
We will definitely come back to another visit.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. There were a few issues with our bills: our first meal at the restaurant we were charged for 2 wines we did not order but they corrected it after I said something. Then when we checked out there was an extra 148€ restaurant bill that was not ours that had been charged to our room. Would not have noticed we got charged someone else’s meal if I had not gone through each receipt. After I pointed it out they paid me back the money in cash. Also, some indication of how much the laundry service cost would have been nice. When we checked out we had to pay much more than we expected for laundry. The outdoor sitting areas under the magnolia tree/by the fire pit are nice but considered the restaurant so you cannot sit there unless you order drinks from the bar - we tried having a sunset picnic with our own food and were not allowed. We liked relaxing by the pool and the breakfast was very good! A taxi back at night from Siena was only 12€. The S27 bus was also very easy to go to and from Siena.

We received warm service from the moment we checked in. Lorenzo even took us on a tour of the chapel. While the frescoes and ceiling paintings inside weren't as breathtaking as those in the cathedral, their presence here was still a testament to the power of religion. The room was spacious, and the view of the courtyard and bell tower from the balcony was very peaceful; enjoying a beer there was quite pleasant. At sunset, I recommend taking a stroll along the path through the olive grove in the backyard, looking out at the distant town and mountain ridges, and quietly waiting for the sun to set – it's a wonderful experience.

The hotel has a good location, but there is no special service. The hotel environment is great, but the room is very average. I just feel that the price-performance ratio is not good enough. The breakfast is also very simple or of good quality! Ate in the restaurant in the evening, the food was not amazing!

A very romantic small hotel, rich breakfast, beautiful environment, warm service, beautiful view outside the window, everything makes up a wonderful feeling, recommended

Perfect for relaxation. Everything is great. Located remotely but they can always call taxi on request.
