Grifo Hotel Charme & Spa in Ischia Town

Charming place and charming people. Beautiful and calm location, views and more importantly, helping and kind people feeling like home. The dinner is succulent, yhe ahuttle is so convenient. Ischia is charming local island more human than Capri… just go

Grifo Hotel is a truly authentic Italian experience, set in amazing surroundings overlooking the beautiful island of Ischia. From the moment you arrive, it has everything you need to relax, switch off and properly recharge. The pool area is fantastic, with incredible views and plenty of space to soak up the sun. The thermal spa is also brilliant, with lots of areas to just unwind and take it easy. The food was a real highlight. Breakfast had so much choice and everything was really fresh. For lunch, the Zingara sandwich was honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Dinner each night was just as good, with loads of fresh ingredients and great flavours – the chef is excellent. What really makes this place though is the people. The staff are so warm and welcoming, and nothing is ever too much trouble. The reception team were especially helpful anytime we needed anything. The waiting staff were also great – really friendly and attentive without ever being over the top. The shuttle bus to and from the port was so handy and always ran smoothly, which just made everything easier. And then there’s Enzo – the heart and soul of the hotel. He’s an absolute legend. Every day he took the time to properly chat with us, have a laugh and make us feel at home. He’s genuinely warm and funny, and those little moments really made the trip for us. On the morning we were leaving, he even made sure we had breakfast before heading off, which just sums up how thoughtful he is. We ended up eating in the hotel six out of seven nights, which says it all as we’ve never done that on any of our trips to Italy before. To Enzo and the whole team, thank you for such a memorable stay – we’ll definitely be back.

Our stay at Grifo Hotel Charme and SPA in Ischia was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome, and the whole hotel has such a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you can instantly relax and enjoy the beauty of the island. The food was absolutely amazing, with every meal feeling fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared. The pool is also beautiful and was the perfect place to unwind and soak up the wonderful surroundings. What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone was so attentive, thoughtful and genuinely warm, always going the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. Enzo is an absolute gem — his kindness and hospitality made such a lasting impression. Valentina and Antonio were also incredibly thoughtful and warm, and we felt so well looked after throughout our stay. Grifo Hotel Charme and SPA is a truly special place, and the combination of the beautiful setting, wonderful food, gorgeous pool and exceptional people made our stay unforgettable. We would absolutely love to return and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ischia.

Quiet location above Casamicciola Terme that was a friendly, organized and clean sanctuary. The family and staff were very professional and pleasant and seemed to really care that you enjoyed a nice visit to Ischia. They had a regular pool and a soaking pool with mineral water onsite as well as a bar and accommodations for reasonably priced and delicious meals. They provided suggestions for day trips and dinners at places around the island. They also arranged taxis and tours and provided a convenient free shuttle to Casamicciola Terme. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grifo Hotel in Ischia and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The food was absolutely lovely and exquisitely prepared by the talented Head Chef, Pasquale. Every meal was beautifully presented and full of flavour, making dining at the hotel one of the highlights of our stay. A special mention must go to Enzo, the head waiter, who served us on most days. His service was truly exceptional. He was attentive throughout our stay, offered excellent food and wine recommendations, and even remembered our preferred drinks every morning and evening. It’s this level of personal service that really made us feel valued and welcome. The concierge team were also fantastic, always happy to help and offering complimentary transfers at various times throughout the day to the main port of Ischia, which was a brilliant added touch. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with drinks, setting the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Special thanks to the reception staff and everyone at the hotel for their kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. We would highly recommend the Grifo Hotel to anyone visiting Ischia and look forward to returning in the future.

Overall A fantastic stay for 6 nights which was very relaxing and just what we needed. Very clean and fantastic food. Enzo the Maitre’d and his team made the hotel, so much passion for his work it really showed! The only thing letting this hotel down was the location. Great that they provided a free shuttle into Ischia Port (albeit you need to reserve the times) but if you want to walk from the hotel it’s quite a walk and has steep inclines which make it very hard work. The buses around the island are very good tho and cheap.

Our second time visiting the Grifo. A beautiful hotel located on the outskirts of Ischia town. It feels secluded and private, whilst giving quick access (with a very convenient shuttle) to the town itself. Despite visiting in peak season, it never felt overly busy. Whether relaxing at the pool or dining in the evening we had space and privacy. The rooms are comfortable. We tend to to go for a simple room. But what you get for this is very good. There is access to the spa included (a lovely place to take a break and relax in natural spring water). And an outdoor pool and lounging space for when you want to be in the sun. It is easy to travel to different parts of the island from the hotel. We used the local public transport (buses) to go to Forio and Sant Angelo, getting off close to the hotel on the way back. With a convenient shuttle service available to take you back to the hotel from the nearest bus stop so that you can avoid a steep walk back to the hotel itself. The staff are lovely. Friendly and attentive. We have to say a big thank you to Enzo. If you visit, being greeted morning and evening by Enzo will be a highlight of your stay. The spaces for eating are very nice, with views over the outdoor pool. In the evening you can enjoy panoramic views of the island from the rooftop. We had booked this as part of our honeymoon holiday, and there was a lovely touch of a bottle of prosecco waiting for us when we arrived. We very much hope to visit the Grifo again soon.

What a wonderful hotel! Where do I begin? This hotel is absolutely beautiful and so clean. It is perfectly located near the port with a free shuttle bus service included in the price. The service was our highlight. The staff could not have been more attentive- particularly Michaele, Antonio and Enzo. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! The pool and spa were fabulous too. The food in the restaurant was excellent and a must when you are there! Thanks again for a fabulous time.

This is a 4-star hotel located on Ischia Island. All the staff are incredibly warm and always ready to help. Although the location is a bit secluded, the complimentary daily shuttle bus makes it super easy to get to the city center. The hotel is spotless, and the pool is cleaned thoroughly every day. If you are visiting Ischia, I highly recommend staying here!

This was the best hotel we stayed in during our 4 week trip to Italy. The hotel has spectacular views of the sea. The staff is professional, yet super friendly. The rooms are large and comfortable. We enjoyed the spa and pool. The hotel provided a free shuttle service anytime we wanted to go to the port of ischia. It was only a 5 min ride, but really appreciated the service. Highly recommend and would definitely go back.
