Airone Hotel in Naples

First of all, it's in a very central location, within walking distance of the metro. However, we didn't like the room we stayed in. The hotel is old; they've renovated some parts, but it's not quite right. There was an incredibly bad smell coming from the bathroom. The taps were dirty and rusty, as if they hadn't been cleaned for years. There were no duvet covers on the duvets; instead, the duvet was placed between two sheets. You're in a mess while sleeping. The sheets and the duvet kept sliding to different sides. It's also not hygienic. I wouldn't want to sleep with a duvet that someone else has slept on and hasn't been washed frequently. Breakfast is limited; there's coffee, croissants, fruit yogurt, and cereal. I wouldn't choose it again. However, I would like to mention

Unfortunately the experience was disappointing compared to the description.
• Missing equipment: No ironing facilities despite being listed, no coffee machine as shown in the photos, minibar empty except for water. No cotton pads, cotton buds, conditioner, or hand sanitizer — just small soap.
• Breakfast: Very poor quality — no fresh orange juice even though the machine is there, well no juice at all ! only water, tea or coffee, no eggs, no variety at all.
• Cleanliness: Bathroom only barely clean, floor and shower joints dirty.
• Outdated amenities: The hairdryer is so old (at least 20 years) that calling it a “hairdryer” is almost a joke.
• Staff: Not welcoming or friendly, which is unusual for a hotel.
• Price transparency: Booking.com price showed taxes included, but an extra €9 city tax was charged on arrival.

For a 3-star hotel, this is far from the standard you’d expect. I’ve stayed in better hotels in Naples just a few blocks away for a lower price. This place might work if you just need a bed for one night, but don’t expect the comfort, breakfast, or service promised in the listing.
