B&B Art Suite Principe Umberto in Naples

Easy check-in and check-out, but the property was advertised as bed and breakfast, and there was no breakfast at all. The area was very busy, noisy and dirty. The building was very old with early 20 century ascenseur. On the first day, there was no internet or hot water, and the room was cold. As a result, my husband caught a severe cold.

Not recommended at all.

Booked the Superior Triple Room after looking at pics as 3 of us were travelling, we specifically wanted a lift as one adult with back problems & one recently had hip operation....the room they gave us was in no way suitable...single bed downstairs was as hard as the floor, the double bed up some awful metal stairs was noisy each time someone moved in bed, the ceiling was too low even for our shorter friend, unable to stand up or get changed at all!! We were promised tea/coffee making facilities, we found one small ramikin dish, one spoon in kitchen area, no kettle to be seen either! No hot water for shower at all...when we complained the manager told us they didn't have room we showed him pics of & offered us a DOUBLE room instead....what use is that for 3 of us? Getting in & out of building is another farce, you all have to leave together as only one set keys which we eventually found in key boxes, this wasn't explained to us at all, also advertised a communal room but no key fit into that door! It's situated in a grim part of Naples with one cafe bar outside, area did not feel safe. All in all, a horrible place that should be reported to trading standards & we will be contacting *********** to sort it out....was so awful we left a day early to go to Rome...do not bother staying here, you will get NOTHING of what you paid for...FALSE ADVERTISING!!!! Find somewhere near Pompei, much nicer!

- Air conditioning producing mouldy air gave both of us bad cough + cold (still on-going as I write this)
- No front desk.
- No Iron
- Sofa bed which is terribly uncomfortable

I'm not one to complain usually since I'm used to sleeping very modestly but if you do book with these people make sure you specifically ask them NOT to stay in the 'Napoli' room, it is a hazard. It's possible (inevitable) that the other rooms are habitable.

It's quite far from the airport. The bus has to walk a long way to get in. The road is difficult to walk. There are many bars around the hotel. It's very close to the train station, 6 minutes. Then the hotel will send you a check-in registration and city tax, and then send the hotel information and say OK, and then the hotel will give you the key and room. , the hotel elevator is very small and old. The room is very antique and clean, but there is no thick quilt, just a piece of cloth. The key point is that the hot water is not hot enough and the water pressure is very low. The air conditioning is too cold. There is a kitchen and a large bathroom without an exhaust fan. It is a duplex room. The bed has to go up stairs, and there is a sofa and a wardrobe below. restroom.
