Nicolas Inn in Rome

I can't say enough good things about this place!

I recently stayed for 4 nights as a solo female traveler in Rome. I felt very safe staying here. The surrounding area felt safe, and I also felt safe within the hotel itself.

The location is AMAZING. So close to the Colosseum, and there are a ton of shops and places to eat nearby. There's also a Pharmacy right down the street. It's also very close to a Metro stop, and a long but doable walk to Termini.

Francesca is a WONDERFUL host. She insisted on carrying my 50 pound bag up and down the stairs when I arrived. On several occasions, she gave me advice on where to eat, what to do, and how to best get to a location. She was always very friendly and prompt with any requests during my stay.

I saw them cleaning several times, and the whole place felt very neat and clean. The room I was in was very basic (a bed, a tiny desk, and a bathroom), but since I was there just to sleep and shower, this worked perfectly for me.

Note: I had emailed twice after booking but prior to my arrival, and my emails were left unanswered. I was simply asking whether they would be able to store my luggage, which would have been a quick and easy reply. This is one of the few complaints I have--their failure to reply to emails. But I would note that while there, I had to communicate with them, and they emailed and sent me messages over whatsapp. So if you have a question for them prior to arrival, you may want to use whatsapp. (Additional note: they did store my luggage for me prior to check-in).

One other possible negative I would note: the sound really carries, so I could hear things from other rooms and the hallway, such as someone else's alarm going off in the morning. This didn't really bother me because I'm a pretty sound sleeper, but it's something to be aware of if you're a light sleeper.

If you're traveling to Rome, definitely consider staying here! It's so reasonably priced for the location and the accommodations!

Great location for the historical area ! Comfortable bed, spacious room and bathroom. Plenty of soap and shampoo. Property very clean and well kept. Extremely kind and service oriented staff. Look for the goldfish in the water fountain in the backyard!

A hidden Jem!! It’s not a 5 star hotel but it’s clean with a perfect location.

We stayed here last minute and absolutely had the most pleasant stay. Rooms were clean and bathroom, hospitality is amazing. Very nice people. Great location and cute restaurants outside.

This is a hidden gem… close to everything and very clean. Walking distance to almost every where …Convenient located for transit as well!!!! It’s privately owned and we were treated like family!!! This is a great place to get around town easily and rest your head at night. The staff was very friendly, and the room was cleaned every day. If you value location, this hotel is a great option.

I had a great experience staying here in 2011 and decided to stay here again. The room was simple and clean. Easy to get to from metro, ＜10 min walk from metro. We did run into an issue with hot water the second night we were there and ended up taking a cold shower. Overall, a great location.

We were lucky enough to stay at the enchanting Hotel Rosetta in Perugia. The Concierge from beginning to end made us feel utterly welcome. This is a lovely place to stay. Located in the centre of beautiful Perugia, the hotel has charm and is authentic. We will definitely stay here again.

The customer service provided by Valentino and his sister was amazing. They take immense pride in providing tourists a brilliant experience. The room was exceptionally large, plenty of hot water, air conditioning, block out blinds, king size+ bed, desk, wifi and located only 300 metres from the Coliseum.
