Hotel Villa Igea in Alassio

Other than social distancing on the beach, I would say quite shameful as the rules are not respected. All in all, the residence is in an excellent location within walking distance of everything.

Panama: Residence, restaurant and equipped beach all together, the residence just beyond the gut of Alassio. Unfortunately only three stars, due to objective deficiencies.
We are a couple with two very young children (almost three and a year and a half years old) and we ask for equipment accordingly, receiving positive responses during the booking phase, which then showed more or less serious flaws.

The beach: like the whole Alassio Riviera, it suffered a strong storm at the end of 2018, which reduced its size to a third compared to before. The result was only three rows of umbrellas, the first of which practically in the water, as almost all the establishments have done. Here, however, the problem is that in order to have the maximum income, maintaining a lower price than the average (28 € / day in July with the agreed price, 32 € / day otherwise), the beds have tightened so much that they passes with difficulty and only literally crawling on them. UNACCEPTABLE, other establishments 100 meters away with € 35 give a much greater livability margin on 4/5 rows.

The restaurant: we had dinner (agreed price because in residence) one evening by booking. Excellent service and quality of food, even that of the children, two vegetable soups made on request in advance in the afternoon, absolutely nothing to complain about on this point, indeed a small applause.
On the other hand, the bill is very expensive, even for Alassio, specifically for the water and the even exorbitant coffee (4 € x 75cl). The discount (not indicated anywhere) is only 15%.

The residence: beautiful, well-kept, renovated in a shabby chic / poor Provencal style. Two rooms with bathroom and two balconies, with air conditioning in both rooms. Very nice, well stocked in the amenities, except for the number of electrical sockets and linen change, only once and partial (why 1 out of 4 towels?).
Two-room apartment on the second floor with large lift and internal access ramp in the hall for prams and strollers ... it is a pity that on the floor there are TWO HIGH AND NARROW STEPS (but how?) And that the entrance door to the hall has a step of about 8cm overlooking an internal road one meter and twenty wide. In short, architectural barriers that make movement difficult for those with very young children. But unfortunately for us the worst was the air conditioning NOT working, with 30 degrees at night and an incredible heat so that the second day we went to buy a fan to be able to survive with the children. To be fair, Mrs Nuccia has said several times that the problem was lightning that would have hit the structure a few days earlier, but only our apartment seems to have had a malfunction for all 4 days of the split, both. Many excuses, no results, except the fact that the owner often passed in our two-room apartment (and privacy?) To verify the obvious, that is the suffocating heat. In the end, the cost of 1 day on the beach was discounted for a late attempt to make up for the lack of air conditioning.

Finally, an unpleasant event at check out with the cleaning ladies who literally kicked us out, causing a real confusion and inconvenience with the owner.

In conclusion, an excellent structure, expensive net of any discounts, in a strategic position at the end of the gut, but with serious flaws to be eliminated and with difficult accessibility for younger children.
