Residence Hotel Kriss in Deiva Marina

I do not usually leave reviews for hotels, but I am compelled to say that my wife Jette and I have enjoyed ourselves immensely at Residence Kriss, run by Franco and Cristina. The hotel is Ideally located in Deiva Marina close to the sea. The rooms are very well appointed and maintained, with cooking facilities and balconies. Our room faced the ocean and is very bright and airy. We found Franco, Cristina and Lucia to be friendly and very helpful. We stayed 2 weeks, and found the community to be very charming. Cinque Terra is easily accessed by train from here, and we were happy to visit the different locations and return back to Deiva Marina. I would not hesitate to recommend Residence Kriss and Deiva Marina. As Franco and Cristina live on the property, we had the pleasure of meeting their daughter Katarina and Christina's 102 year young aunt who was visiting. We hope to return here in the future.

Wonderful hotel, the little town is beautiful and peaceful. The beach is less than 5 minutes away. The hotel terrace is cozy and perfect for relaxing after a long day visiting cinque terre.
The rooms are clean and spacious as well as the balcony.
The service is great, they are very helpful (and they speak french).
We would gladly go back.

Me and my wife had a verry nice stay at Hotel Kriss, already for de second time, the staff is verry profesional and de room ar clean and kept clean every week.
We had a balcony and could see the sea from there, there is airco and that is nice allso.
The beach was nearby and easy to walk to and there was a bed and umbrelle aswell.
The name of the Bagni was Arcobaleno, a verry nice place to get café, ice, or eat a meal.
We will be back some day i am sure!

Deiva Marina it self is a bit a boring town although they are developing a shopping centre close to the beach.

Residence Kriss has large and clean apartments with a fully equipped kitchen. The staff is kind and helpful.

There is a bakery opposite to the apartments where we went to get breakfast (you can also have breakfast at the Residence).

The train station is a 5 minutes walk and will bring you to Cinque Terre and Portofino which are both highly recommended to visit.

Within a 10 min. drive you can rent a scooter which is also fun way to visit some of the Cinque Terre villages.

Three generations of my family have been going for 20 years to the Residence Kriss. We have been in peak season (August vacation) as well as earlier in the summer. The Residence Kriss and the lovely proprietors (Franco and Cristina) and their staff are part of our lives and I hope to return for years.

The Kriss rooms are lovely, modern, and relaxing, with air conditioning, comfortable beds, kitchenette, and balconies overlooking charming gardens and a quiet piazza. The light and airy bar has excellent coffee, drinks, and light snacks as well as gelato, with seating both indoors and on a canopied terrace. A comfortable nook off the main seating area has couches and a large-screen television which attracts viewers for football (soccer) games. My children have spent hours there watching Eurocup and World Cup football.

The Kriss is about 100 m from the beach, and my children go back and forth with ease.

The beach is gorgeous and clean, a comfortable mix of sand and pebbles. It offers columns-and-rows of umbrellas rented by several bagni (beach clubs). The water is beautiful and refreshing; it is warm enough and (9 days out of 10) calm enough for long swims. There is a newly renovated boardwalk that overlooks the beaches and the sea, which is nice during the day but especially for walking at night.

Between the Kriss and the beach are two well-stocked tiny grocery stores with both basics and luxuries (including local specialties and excellent fresh fruit). There are several very good restaurants within 200 m, ranging from a very good pizzeria to impressive Ligurian fare and seafood specialties.

In principle you are a short train ride from Cinque Terre and other touristic spots on the Italian Riviera (Porto Fino, etc.), but we rarely leave Deiva because it is so nice. There is an attractive old section of town off the water and walking trails in the hills.

Kriss rooms are available on a weekly (Saturday-to-Saturday) basis. I recommend at least two weeks because as my dad says, you really need the first week just to unwind from whatever you have been doing and then you can begin the vacation in earnest. The Residence Kriss and Deiva Marina are a perfect place to do this.

Good place to stay ... it's quiet, close to the beach and easy access to the Cinque Terre.

Great hotel and great hosts!
I really recommend this place.
The only downside is lack of iron in the apartment. You need to go downstairs to the laundry to iron your clothes.
