The staff, facilities and view created an awesome Valentine's Day long weekend. Visiting the surrounding towns was an extra plus.

Every time I come to Lake Garda, lunch at Villa Sostaga in Gargnano is an absolute must—it's become a little tradition for me. Perched high on a hill with those incredible panoramic views over the lake that just take your breath away, the place has this magical old-world charm. Originally built in the late 19th century as a hunting lodge for Count Giuseppe Feltrinelli, it's surrounded by 40 hectares of beautiful grounds, blending rustic elegance with real luxury. The interiors are done with such impeccable taste—antique touches mixed with cozy comfort—and the food is always outstanding, creative yet comforting, with fresh local ingredients that make every dish memorable. What really makes it special though are the people: owners Gabriele and his son Francesco are so warm and welcoming, always making you feel like you're visiting friends rather than staying at a hotel, and Sonia at the front desk is endlessly kind and helpful with that genuine smile. Whether you're there for a relaxed lunch on the terrace or lingering longer, it's the perfect spot to soak in the beauty of Garda. Can't recommend it enough—it's one of those places that keeps drawing me back!

The Villa Hotel is undeniably beautiful. It’s set in a stunning location overlooking the lake, with breathtaking mountain views. I’ve stayed here twice in the past and absolutely loved it. The grounds are extensive and immaculate, everything feels very well maintained, and the staff have always been friendly, professional, and helpful. However, I’m very disappointed by the hotel’s recent change to its dog policy. On my previous stays, I brought my two small dogs and was happy to pay the dog supplement, as the hotel advertised itself as pet friendly. My dogs are under 5kg, very calm, quiet, and have never caused any mess or disturbance. When I recently contacted the hotel to request a quote for a future stay, I was informed that the dog supplement has increased by 40%, from €15 to €25. In my opinion, this is a very steep and unjustified increase, particularly for such small dogs. While I understand a reasonable supplement, this feels excessive and more “dog tolerant” than genuinely pet friendly. Unfortunately, this change has put me off returning. It’s a real shame, as otherwise the hotel is a wonderful place to stay.

A wonderful escape — remote, peaceful, with breathtaking views, superb food, and exceptional service throughout.

Me and a friend stayed 2 days in the SPA-suite, and it was just amazing! We had a sauna, hamam-shower and a jacuzzi - we chose to use the garden jacuzzi instead wich was beautiful. The restaurant and breakfast was awesome, the service was perfect - so warm and genuine, and the view from the villa is just stunning. We slept like babies and felt completely at home. We also went for a really cool 2 hour hike in the mountains that the reception recomended us - so great. Extra plus for the queen of the villa - the english bulldog Gina greeting us on the stairs upon arrival. Do go here if you want to spoil yourself with some italian luxury - I will definately be back again and again...
