Our experience in this hotel left much to be desired. Room was small with opaque glass walls on the en-suite bathroom which does not give any privacy! Good service at reception on arrival but thereafter the service delivered was appalling - staff were downright rude and lacked any kind of training. After several requests to speak to Alberto the owner he finally came to talk to us on our departure. Alberto apologised profusely and offered compensation which we agreed to. Our bank details were given to reimburse us for one night if our 2 night stay. Needless to say after many emails and excuses from this hotel, ie our accounts manager is off sick etc., we have never received any compensation. Extremely disappointed that we have been lied to - will never return and never recommend to anyone who likes to be treated with courtesy and honesty.

Although in a great location, the “villa” as they refer to the older building adjacent to the newer building is far below standards one would expect for the price charged. One is made to feel awkward or inferior for booking this older building with outdated rooms. In terms of the guest experience, you check in and out of the Sunset, you park in the Sunset, breakfast is served in the Sunset, and the buildings are architecturally attached. Any confusion of properties is not the guests' responsibility to decipher. Despite the spectacular view to the sea, the actual guest experience tells a story of exclusion. I do not recommend.

We are on a group tour & this was our last stop. It was pouring rain when we arrived. No valets to hep. They gave me & my friend a room in the villa section with one bed & we had to drag our luggage up & down & up to our room with no valet to help. We had to drudge through 2” of water to get to our room. The hotel was booked solid & we wanted another bed but that wouldn’t have mattered because my friend overheard them telling someone else that the single bed was just for babies! We’re 2 adult women in our 60’s & that would be fine in our 20’s but we are over it. The room has some issues with age. Others in our group had bugs. The management did nothing to accommodate us. For others they gave them a half hour massage. I’m very disappointed in this hotel. Let’s see what tomorrow brings!

We booked this hotel for one night as part of our tour of Sicily. It was pricier than most but booked due to location. We were very disappointed. The room was soulless, no complimentary water, no tea or coffee making facilities just a sterile shell. The bathroom was nice though but shower broken and no action when reported. The worst issue was no one told us about the large and loud fairground directly next to our balcony. The noise continued late into the night making a quiet ‘night cap’ on the balcony impossible. More worrying was when I went to complain there wasn’t a member of staff to be found anywhere and no security even though the hotel doors were wide open. Location and rooftop pool fine (despite staff there also disappearing) but overall a disappointment.
