Reviews
The rooms are excellent, very clean, well maintained, and with high-quality amenities. The gym on the top floor is comfortable and a great extra for a city-center hotel.
Breakfast was very good—every morning my omelette was perfectly prepared, and the staff were always kind, attentive, and smiling.
A special highlight was the Santa Lucia celebration on December 13th, beautifully organized and full of atmosphere. It really made the stay memorable.
The hotel is beautiful, elegant Belle Époque style, full of history and emotions, and perfectly located in the heart of Palermo. The front office team was always friendly, professional, and helpful from check-in to check-out.
A truly special hotel that makes you feel welcome. Highly recommended, and I would be happy to return.
The bedrooms & bathrooms are very comfortable and luxuriously appointed.
The gym is the biggest & classiest I’ve ever seen at a hotel.
The breakfast spread is also the biggest & most beautiful I’ve seen in at least a decade.
The staff are so hospitable and very handsome. 😂
I *must* give it 5 stars because that’s what it is.
My only complaint is one that was serious for me: Room 405 (huge!!) is perfect in every way except that it’s underneath the hotel bar. The noise from furniture being dragged around or slammed down from up there made it very challenging to get good rest even with earplugs. Just a caveat for that one room, though the same side of the hall (overlooking a courtyard instead of the street) was quiet enough in 404 next door, from what a companion in there said.
That said, I whole-heartedly recommend this hotel – with its incredible elegance and fascinating history – and exploring its many beautiful spaces.
The rooms are an ode to refined discretion. Silky fabrics, calm colors, details that don’t shout but whisper good taste. And then there’s the silence—that rare kind of silence that turns every night into an invitation to unwind completely.
The best part, though, is the feeling of being treated not just as a guest, but as a silent partner in a small enchantment. Every gesture is measured, yet natural. From impeccable room service to a breakfast that feels like a morning caress, everything works in harmony to transform your stay into an experience rather than a mere overnight.
And then there’s the restaurant, the true stage of the Grand Hotel et des Palmes. Here, the cuisine doesn’t simply feed you: it woos you, teases you, conquers you with almost theatrical precision. Every dish is crafted like a short story—intense, polished, with not a single note out of place.
The chef moves between tradition and invention with disarming confidence. A broth that smells like memory, fish brought to the table in a perfect balance of sea and technique, desserts that seem to murmur, “Relax, we’ll take care of the grand finale.” The presentations are so elegant you almost hesitate to disturb those little masterpieces… until the first bite makes all doubts evaporate.
Service ties everything together with gracious professionalism: well-judged suggestions, unforced smiles, wine pairings that feel like a perfectly rehearsed handshake.
In short, the restaurant at the Grand Hotel et des Palmes isn’t just an accessory to the hotel: it’s its gourmet soul, a place where cooking becomes an act of pure hospitality. An unmissable stop for anyone who loves being surprised with style.
