Locanda manages to make vacation stressful! 😅😅 It is a grossly misrepresented property. There was no one at the property when we checked in. The room that we booked was in fact in another building that we had to find, walk to alone with our infant and luggage, then go up 2 flights of stairs - all of this was absolutely not listed in the description of the room. At no point did the booking list this as essentially a self check in apartment with no reception or hospitality. The price and description of this property is way out of line. The owner harassed me with what’s app and booking messages about our time of arrival constantly - also whether or not we would have breakfast, when etc. We are on holiday and want to be flexible- at no point in the booking description did it say that we were at the mercy of the owners to plan our trip. We stayed at 4* and 3* hotels during our time in Sicily and the hospitality at these places was impeccable- even when it was a self catered/B&B establishment. But Locanda is perhaps the worst hotel/B&B I have ever booked for this money (150$+ a night!!) .Worst, the building we were in locks with a very cumbersome lock situation and no one there for reception. In case of a fire, I cannot imagine people would get out alive. This property to me is misrepresented and grossly abusive in management. They must be making a killing charging people the price they do, having no one to assist you, no one at reception, no one available and nothing updated for 40 years. Lastly, people have said the breakfast is good- I’m not sure who they are but it was basically pitiful in comparison to others we had on this trip?? This is the photo of the bathroom we had to use after breakfast - with no light inside! Wild Palermo place- do not stay 🤣🙏🏼😅

Clean and through what’s app able to contact the owner if an issue. Code to get in door. Come and go. Breakfast right outside our door top floor. Marble steps. No elevator. A great workout. lol. Friendly staff. Air conditioning. Modelled as an old Sicilian home.

Great location in historical district. We were able to walk everywhere. Breakfast was good and staff friendly.

We only stayed one night at this property on our way through Palermo and it was nice but I wouldn't want to stay much longer. Our room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator and the steps were steep and narrow. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was good for walking to nearby shops and restaurants.

Great location, close to port and shopping and restaurants. Staff is so nice and helpful. There are a lot of steps to get to the rooms and they are a little narrow. The staff helped with bags which was amazing but this is probably not good if you have mobility issues. I highly recommend and would stay again.

This is the worst ‘hotel’ we have ever stayed in. We arrived at 22.00 having received a text with instructions on how to enter the building - no reception staff. Finally we got in through the main door but could not find the electronic key card which had supposedly been left on the reception desk. We mailed and rang the number given and was finally greeted with a torrent of abuse. The lady at the end of the line refused to repay our money - didn’t ask for repayment at all just wanted access to our room. She never stopped shouting at us but eventually said she would ring around the other hotel guests to hear if they had taken our key card. This certainly did not make us feel safe. She eventually told us to take a general key card which we could use to access our room - and presumably all the other rooms! That was the last communication we had with any of the hotel staff. We used a key that we found in our room to lock the door. Our room was never cleaned in three days, we never found any bathrobes as mentioned in the booking. If you find steep and narrow steps difficult while carrying your luggage then avoid this place. There is certainly no lift, no assistance and the three flights of marble stairs are a nightmare.

We had a large comfortable room. The hotel is an old small hotel without an elevator and the stairs are steep. Silvia was so helpful and responded via messaging very quickly. There was no one at reception except when we met her the first morning.
