Park Hotel Paradiso in Piazza Armerina

I was not sure if I wanted to post this review, for two main reasons. First that the staff were very helpful to our needs - the most important was the taxi service which seems to be a common problem in Sicily. Secondly, I am not aware of the reason/reasons for this hotel to be in such a poor state. The reason why I am leaving a review, is that my boyfriend and I needed a weekend to relax, but the only thing we longed for was to go back home from this place. It is rated as a 4 star hotel - this is a total and complete scam. We travelled for around 6 hours so the first thing we wanted to do upon arriving to our room was shower. I will not comment on the state of the bathroom or room upon first impression, but what I will say is that as soon as my boyfriend turned on the water in the shower, the shower head came off with the pressure of the water. You can read that again, that is what happened. We had to shower with no shower head for the entire stay, yes. Breakfast and dinner are another dissapointment. We chose to ignore the short comings for our sanity. On our last night we decided to take a look at TripAdvisor to see what past visitors had to say about this place. You may take a look and understand our shock and 'fear' for our health and safety. We did get a bit paranoid after reading a few reviews and decided to spot check the bed. Apart from little pieces of dark brown/black dirt which until not i am not sure if they were dead bed bugs or their dirt, upon lifting my boyfriends pillow, we find a dead spider. You can also read that again, it is the truth. Other things include the horrible smell when opening wardrobes, the light coming and going in the room, strange noises from the walls, dirty balconies with bird poop, showing that they did not even bother to clean the room properly before we came. I can say so so much more, but this feels like enough to explain what we went through.

The music at the pool is way to loud. Breakfast is horrible dry bread not much choice ,dinner has almost the same problems only is the food also cold! There are chairs that smell like pee and they are messy with keys(they lost our key)!!!You need to be prepared for loud noise of wedding and poolparties?!? Overal for one night is oke but not longer!!!!!

Never experienced something like that. A hotel entrance as beautiful as possible. Real grandeur. All the rest sucks!! The room smelled awfull, a real sewage smell. Diner wasn't much but breakfast realy sucked. Old bread and totally dryed out croissants, thee and coffee cold, meat and cheese with flyes on it. Drinks top expensive. Verry unfriendly personel and the woman at the reception was..... Here I stop because I'll keep it nice.

Sunbeds at the swimming pool cost 3 euro a day. Even for their own hotel guests.
