Good hotel but not a 4 star experience. Buffet breakfast -good selection and plenty of it. Evening meals were poor with very limited and sometimes strange selections. If you’re a vegetarian, don’t expect anything but salads. Expected more fresh food but some was obviously frozen.

This hotel and staff are charming, we would definitely stay again but try and get a room on the front. The staff were so helpful and we are both slightly disabled, nothing was too much trouble. The only reason for not 5 stars was the bar closed very early and we wanted a drink in our own bar. Apart from that. Perfect

Fantastic location on the Piazza Novembre and harbour, just steps from the Torre Apponale, MAG Museum, Bastione di Riva, historic Hydroelectric plant and ferries. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were small, but recently renovated - clean and comfortable with new bathrooms and mini fridges.

Great location right on the main square. Parking worked out great, easy to find, we provided our license plate number to the hotel and the car was recognized at the gate. We were able to park before checking in. Easy walk to the hotel from the modern garage. The breakfast was also delicious. We also used the free bikes to ride along the waterfront to Torbole in the evening when we arrived. We were very happy with this hotel!

We booked and paid for a stay of three nights at Hotel Portici, but when we arrived, we were informed that they only had a room available for two nights ( caused by mistake in reservation system) and that we would have to move to another hotel for the third night. This caused us a lot of inconvenience and completely ruined the last day of our vacation. The worst part was the attitude of the receptionist, Stefano. He told us that we had to check out at the latest 11:00 and that the check-in at the other hotel would not be until 14:00. We asked him several times to help us, explaining that we had already paid for all three nights, but he was rude, uncompetitive and unhelpful. He pretended to call the other hotel but said there was nothing he could do. In the end, when I tried to solve the stressful situation myself at Hotel Sole, they told me that the room there was actually ready at 10:00 and we could come immediately. Stefan's arrogant behavior completely ruined our day and left us very disappointed with the service at Hotel Portici. I do not recommend this hotel.

Our experience at Hotel Portici was perfect! It really is the best hotel in Riva del Garda! It is just steps from the city center and Lake Garda! We enjoyed being able to walk out of the hotel and be right there close to shops and restaurants and of course Lake Garda! The rooms were very big and had plenty of room for putting clothes and suitcases. We also loved the wellness spa! My husband and I loved the saunas, steam room, hot tub, and salt room. It was a perfect way to unwind after we arrived. Parking was also perfect. We received a pass to park right in front of the hotel to unload our suitcases and then given instructions where to park our car in the garage. The garage is about a block walk and you can reach it underground so you do not have to cross the busy street. You really do not even need to unload in front of the hotel because parking is so close. The breakfast included was wonderful! It had so many options for everybody! The front desk staff was so warm and welcoming! The evenings were so active with people which we love and there was even a musician playing a little concert right outside the hotel. What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city! The shopping was fantastic. I bought a few leather purses and linen clothes. We would definitely stay here again and also have dinner at Al Volt again which was one of the best meals we have ever had!

Booked 2 Junior suites for the family of 4. They gave us rooms 214 and 215. To reach 214 you have to take a lift/elevator, walk a few steps and climb a few steps to get to the 2nd lift. For 215, we had to climb 3 flights of stairs to reach it. Good size rooms with decent storage space, airconditioned, and very good bathrooms. There was no view at all as the winfows opened into the walls or windows of another building just a meter or two away. The breakfast room also had steep slippery ramps with no anti-slip provision to reach the buffet and then return with trays to your seat walking up the ramp. This experience is not at all recommended for the elderly or those with physical health issues. Parking located far out. Despite all the impediments posed by the buildings structure and design, the staff does an outstanding job and manages the place well.

Stayed here for our first trip to Italy. What a perfect place! Hotel Portici is located on a square by the lake, surrounded by coffee bars and restaurants and in the most spectacular setting Quaint little streets lined with small shops and restaurants on the doorstep The hotel itself was fantastic- all areas very clean, the buffet breakfast had selection of food and the staff were so friendly Our room was spacious and the added bonus of air conditioning was most welcome Only point to mention was that the non Italian TV channels were limited, this didn't really bother us though Definitely recommend

The Portici is situated right on the main square in Riva del Garda and in our opinion is very well placed for exploring the old town, nothing is more than a few minutes stroll away. The rooms are very well maintained, spotlessly clean and smell wonderful. All of the staff, from check in at reception to cleaning staff, restaurant staff both in the mornings at breakfast and in the evening were very friendly and helpful.Breakfast has a very good choice and well stocked, nothing runs out!We ate outside on one evening and again the food was lovely. Sadly upon arrival our room was not ready due to previous occupants not checking out on time (no fault of the hotel) and so we were upgraded to a double aspect corner room over looking the square and a bottle of prosecco sent to our room by way of apology....amazing ! We would definitely return, can't recommend it enough.

Our small family group (me my husband and my mother) spent 4 nights here just after Christmas and had a wonderful time. Gabriela and her colleague on reception were welcoming and so helpful and efficient. We had lovely rooms (104 and 105) overlooking the square and they were clean, very modern and well appointed. Very quiet at nighttime and we slept soundly! Housekeeping was very good also. We didn’t visit the wellness centre but heard it was very nice. We stayed on a half board basis and the breakfast was very good - the usual choices and very nice fresh pastries every morning. The dining team was excellent - led by Josef who is a model of quiet efficiency. We must compliment Adam and Sebastiano - always smiling and welcoming and their female colleagues who I’m afraid we didn’t get their names. Very good choices on the 4 course dinner menu - nice simple food well cooked and unpretentious. The location is ideal - close to the lake and the Christmas market and all that beautiful Riva has to offer. We didn’t drive but it appears you can drive to the entrance to check in and then park at a nearby car park. We had no complaints whatsoever and would happily return again. Reception organised our return taxi to the airport and allowed us keep one room a little later on the last morning. The staff make this hotel so I hope the manager realises what treasures he has!!
