Borgo Magliano Resort in Magliano in Toscana

Borgo Magliano is a sofisticated camping site with apartments. The only reason they have 4 stars on Booking, is because of their restaurant and swimming pools.
Our apartment was so dirty we had to ask for another... The chairs in the kitchen had dust all over... Not mentioning underneath the bed... Appliances in the cupboards and drawers had leftovers on them, and we could not stay. They could not replace the room until the day after, so we had no chance at eating breakfast before mid-day.

Pools were ok. Sunbeds were "taken" from early morning, even noone stayed there before mid-day. The rules for the pool area differed with this, but no one seemed to care. Certainly not the pool guard, who was occupied on the phone..

Beautiful area, a short drive off Pittiglione. A real gem.

The admin of Borgo Maglione compensated 20% off our dining bill, but since we ate other places, the compensation was nowhere near what we were entitled to.

Our advice is to find somewhere else to stay. It's nowhere near worth what you pay. Since we have travelled Tuscany the past 12y, we should know.

Firstly we were met with an ant invasion in our apartment and on our porch.
The beds were hard as rock.
Pillows gave no support.
The AC made rumbly noises from time to time.
The light on our bathroom took ages to turn on.
The fridge wasn’t really cold (but better than storing items outside).
There were no dustpan in the apartment.
The bins were almost always full.
The dinner and breakfast buffet was tasteless - we ended up making our own food at home.
The olive oil tasting trip they’re selling you is a joke: the staff doesn’t know English. All you see is a bunch of machines, then you sit down to taste the oils. We got molded bread..
Lastly we had to pay extra for services we were told in advance we would get discounts on.

I’d expect much more from a supposedly 4 star resort.

Just came back from 10 days stay. The location is very good with great view on Magliano. But the biggest problem are the dirty rooms, and quality of the furniture. Our sofa in the living room was so dirty that we had to cover it with the towels (dust and balls of rolled up covering; see the pictures). I went to the reception and asked for cleaning but nobody came during these 10 days. It should be 2 stars resort not more.
The advantage is the restaurant. We had bought the dinner's vouchers for 10 days and very day there was something different. The dishes were tasted, diverse and quite big. The biggest attraction of the whole stay was the Boss of the restaurant Mr. Rodolfo, fantastic sense of humour, he made every evening a great fun.
