Reviews
We had the most memorable vacation at Tombolo Talasso! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and warmth made us feel right at home. A special thank you to the incredible restaurant crew who truly made our stay unforgettable.
Chef Alberto delighted us with exquisite dishes every single day, and Leonardo always welcomed us with the kindest smile, making us feel like family. Giuseppe was so attentive and thoughtful, and I can’t forget Nico, my personal Italian teacher during our stay – grazie mille for the fun lessons and laughs!
You guys were absolutely fantastic. We left with full hearts (and full stomachs!) and can’t wait to come back again very soon. Grazie mille a tutti!!
Breakfast is fine but the restaurant evening meal options are poor also the service was extremely slow we waited 45mins for dinner to come after ordering so did others!! Very small portions and little vegan or veggie options for my wife!
The restaurant on the beach is good for lunch!
It’s small hotel, old building, very well maintained.
Located in small town has everything you need for relax and quiet environment around.
A lot of potential activities around: great swimming pool outside, private beach at the sea with restaurants and bar.
Great spa with caves style seawater pools with different temperatures, jets massage options and special massages and skin treatments.
Excellent service all around.
Huge park area nearby for morning walks or biking.
Great breakfast, good restaurants around.
Very friendly staff, English speaking.
I would be happy to recommend this place to all my friends and family.
All the staff I had to deal with was excellent in my opinion.
The SPA and the pool are very nice, with nice and helpful personnel. We enjoyed the place a lot. Marina di Castagneto Carducci is designed to have quiet vacations in my opinion, and it is a small town. This notwithstanding there’s a little bit of everything there and I have found it very accommodating, even if we stayed there for a short time only.
I totally advise this hotel for people who love to combine relax, body care and excellent food in a seafront environment, all integrated and close by. Honestly I would go once again.
I saw reviews saying the rooms are dirty, the pools are dirty and the food is not good. I don’t think it is like that. Maybe (but it is just a speculation because we’ve not been there in high season) when the structure is overloaded in August or July it can happen that the staff struggles, but that’s definitely something that happens everywhere in my opinion.
Also I noticed that somebody complains about the town, saying there’s not nothing to do. It all depends on the kind of vacation one’s looking for. This location is for quiet people who want to relax. Before going and complaining, one should use google maps and try to understand the services present in the place and what the place is.
I noticed that somebody complained about the lack of availability of the deckchairs at the swimming pool. In my opinion, it does not depend on the hotel, this depends unfortunately on rude people that leave their towels there to occupy them, go away, and then come back at an unspecified time. Five stars hotels sometimes do not host five stars people unfortunately.
Overall very satisfied. My wife and son were very happy as well.
Staying here made me want to buy a place in this town.
We stayed at Tombolo talasso for a week and we're disappointed in many aspects, especially after spending 4 days at Adler Spa which is another 5 stars hotel, in the same price range, in the same region, and is much better.
First thing to know, Tombolo talasso allows dogs, which means you can expect to heard dogs barking at any time. We were waken up by a dog barking at 6:30am three mornings in a raw. People can be really disrespectful.
Then, the rooms are not great. Small bathroom with the toilets inside, you can barely get in the bathtub to take a shower (yes it's not a real shower). We had booked a very expensive junior suite for our 10 years wedding anniversary, with our daughter, and there wasn't even a separation between our bed and our daughter 's bed.
The air conditioning is bad, it's impossible to put the right temperature as the control panel does not display anything. Plus there were drops dropping from the ceiling, which we mentioned at the beginning of our stay but was never fixed.
The cleanliness of the room was not great when we checked in, especially the floor where we could feel some sand.
The service is uneven, sometimes good, sometimes very slow, waiters often forget things we order and we have to ask several times.
The food at the beach restaurant is really bad while being expensive. Better go eat in a restaurant in the street near the sea for lunch.
When we checked in the hotel, nobody proposed us a beverage or anything, not even water. Even though we booked half board, we still had to pay 4€ every evening for a simple bottle of water (of course there's no tap water in the restaurant).
Many times we could not have seats to lay down at the swimming pool. It's unbelievable that in a 5 stars hotel and for the price paid there's not even enough seats near the swimming pool for the guests. And the seats are not so great, it's hard to find the shadow. In the other hotel Adler Spa, they had special seats that can be easily turned to always be under the shadow, but not here.
After a day, we got a survey to give our first impressions on the hotel. We mentioned some of these things, especially the room which was very disappointing, and someone from the hotel proposed to meet to discuss. So I met with Giulia, who said she would try to find us another room with a real shower and a separation between the beds the next day. The next day, she said it's not possible today, maybe tomorrow. The next day, she said it won't be possible. She said there was another better room available but we had to pay more. She asked if she could do something more but she did not suggest anything by herself, not even the smallest gesture. She said she remained available for anything. So after 2 days being awaken at 6:30am by the dog barking near our room, I came to see her to see if she could do anything, but she did not do anything and the next morning we were awaken one more time at 6:30 by the dog barking in some room near ours.
Despite all this, there are some good things. The food in the evening is delicious, the private beach is great, the spa area with all the jacuzzis is really nice. The 2 women taking care of the kids at the mini club are great, our daughter had a great time there.
Overall, we don't recommend this hotel. For half the price I'd give 5/5 but unfortunately it's extremely expensive for what it is.
For the same price and also in Tuscany , we recommend the Adler Spa resort.
