We had a lovely weekend at this hotel! The experience felt truly authentic; the room, the view, and the overall vibe are perfectly captured in that classic Venice style. It really immerses you in the atmosphere of the city.

Service:
The staff was incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay. It was also very convenient that the reception is open 24/7, which made check-in and navigating our schedule much easier.

Dining:
The breakfast is just okay—it's edible and gets the job done, but it isn't particularly amazing compared to the rest of the experience.

Bottom Line:
If you want a stay that feels like "Old Venice" with great service, this is a wonderful choice. Just keep your expectations modest for the morning meal!

I would not recommend staying at Hotel Canaletto.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel unwelcome. The receptionist was extremely rude and insisted on seeing our physical passports before allowing us to check in, saying photo ID wasn’t acceptable. As a result, I had to unpack my luggage in the middle of the lobby in front of other guests just to find our passports, which was embarrassing and unnecessary.

The following day, another receptionist named Igor was just as unpleasant. He insisted that I leave my room key at reception before leaving the hotel and wouldn’t let me walk out without handing it over, even though I was only going next door to have dinner at the hotel’s own restaurant. The way he spoke to me was disrespectful and made me feel like I couldn’t be trusted with the key even tho it was my room with all my personal baggage in there

I understand that hotels have policies, but there’s a respectful way to communicate them. Throughout my stay, I felt looked down on rather than treated as a valued guest. What should have been an enjoyable visit to Venice turned into a frustrating and uncomfortable experience because of the way we were treated.

Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel was within walking distance of so many sights and restaurants which was great. The room was a bit small and had a musty/moldy smell. The breakfast was limited but the ability to refill your water bottles from filtered water all day was great.

The stay was just perfect location and roomwise, but what really stands out is the amazing staff which came after every wish. The interior is classic venice-style and just feels very authentic.

Lovely rooms. Very spacious, modern and perfect air conditioning for both hot and cold.
Location was super close to Rialto and San Marco square.
Only wish is that the breakfast was slightly better. Not many options and the eggs, sausages etc were just not amazing.
Would definitely recommend!

Very good location, acceptable breakfast and the only negative thing is the extra bed which is small for an adult.

The location is quite good, there are a lot of restaurants or shops you can go to. It takes you a 6min walk to the nearest ferry station. The breakfast is quite good, they serve pancakes, hams, scrambled egg from 7.00-10.00…
However, the hotel seems like one with a long history. The wood door, wood cabinets are cracking all the time and I think I saw mould on them.
My stay would be so much better if the hotel decide to repaint the wall and update the furnitures.

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the main attractions. There are many restaurants and gelato shops nearby that taste good. The room is neat and beautiful, not big but very comfortable. The breakfast tastes better than expected, and the front desk staff is also very friendly. The only drawback is that the hotel is older and the soundproofing of the room is not very good, and the sound from the corridor and the next room is obvious. Moreover, the door lock is an old-fashioned key lock, which is difficult to operate, but the staff is very friendly and helped open the door several times. All in all, it's a very good hotel.
