It’s NOT a hotel it’s a B&B no staff is around most of the time. The AC absolutely sucks! I had it full blast for 2 day it barely cooled it down. I complained but never heard back. So I opened the window and was attacked by swarms of mosquitoes! I had to spend a hour running around swatting then to get any sleep. There are nail head sticking out of the trim around doors waiting to snag clothes and skin. I didn’t bother to complain after no response about AC function. Btw the hallways are nice and cool maybe we should have slept out there. They have free breakfast BUT only if you booked direct on THEIR website not thru a third party. Really what’s a stupid croissant and a piece of cheese cost $2. What cheapskates! There are very places open at breakfast in the area. I tried to find another place find another place but everything was booked. Find someplace else.

We stayed at this B&B for 5 nights while we were in Venice. The accommodation is in the Dorsoduro area of the city, very close to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum and also close to the Accademia and the Ponte Accademia Bridge. Despite being close to these attractions, the accommodation was very quiet. Rooms were on the first floor accessed by a staircase with beautiful Venetian masks. Our room was quite traditional, with the walls of the bedroom having a textile covering. Despite this, the bathroom was modern with a spacious shower. Basic toiletries were supplied. There was no safe in the room but the air conditioning was very efficient and it was easy to use, the controls allowing us to change the temperature to a level that was sufficient to cope with the heatwave we experienced when in Venice. We did not experience problems with mosquitos. Staff (Michela and Artana) were friendly and efficient. Michela, in particular, was very pro-active. We had been given a bottle of wine by the hotel we’d stayed in Val Gardena. Michela noticed this and the next day 2 wine glasses and a corkscrew appeared. This wasn’t the only occasion where she was pro-active and we were impressed that she often seemed to anticipate our needs without us having to request services. Both members of staff kept the room very clean. The owner was also helpful and arranged transport for us to get to the airport. Breakfast was served on the ground floor. It was fairly basic; yogurt, granola, salami, cheese and croissant with fruit juice, tea, coffee and water. Locanda Ca’ Del Brocchi is well located, close to galleries and vaporetto stops. The Rialto Bridge and St Mark’s Square are walkable or just a short journey on the vaporetto. The accommodation represents good value (for Venice) and is quiet and clean.

This place is very beautiful however the AC wasn’t working. We only saw the front desk person when we checked in. Told the cleaning lady she said she would tell the manager. We opened the window the first night because it was so hot and got ate up by mosquitoes. The AC never got fixed nor any explanation. I do not recommend this place. We would have left but only had one night left.

One of the Worst Hotel Stays We’ve Ever Had — Trust Me, Don’t Stay Here! We travel often and have stayed all over the world—from resorts to simple family-run inns—and we know not to expect five-star treatment unless we’re paying for it. But this hotel barely delivered a one-star experience, despite what was advertised. Let’s start with the air conditioning, or complete lack of it. Their website clearly stated the rooms had A/C, but when we arrived on a very warm May 29th, we were told it couldn’t be turned on due to a government regulation. Odd, since our friends were staying in another nearby hotel with the A/C running just fine. Not once was this “regulation” mentioned on the website or in our booking info. What we got instead? One sad little fan with no front cover that they hesitated to even hand over. Useless. The hotel itself was old and tired, and not in a charming way. Rooms were stuffy, poorly ventilated, and definitely not soundproof as claimed. With no staff on-site after noon—yes, you read that right—there was no one to help, answer questions, or provide even the most basic service. The only bright spot was the kind and cheerful morning housekeeper. As for sleeping with the windows open to stay cool? Sure, if you’re OK with mosquito bites and street noise keeping you up all night. We understand that some European hotels limit A/C usage seasonally, and we’ve stayed in plenty of places that handle that gracefully—with fans, better ventilation, helpful staff, or at the very least transparency. This hotel offered none of that. If you’re considering this place—don’t. Venice is magical, but this hotel will absolutely drag your experience down.

First and most importantly the website states that they have air conditioning. Well that isn’t exactly true. It may have it but it barely works. It’s May and we were hot and sweating the whole time. We complained but nothing was done. We opened the window but were attacked by lots and lots of mosquitoes. I had to shut the window and run around killing them for a hour. They have free breakfast BUT ONLY if you made the reservation yourself on their website. Not through a third party. WOW what does a stupid little croissant and piece of cheese cost, $2 seriously! 1% of the room fee. What a cheapskate! The beds are very firm and uncomfortable. The shower pours out onto the floor so you use 2 towels to keep it from flooding the place. Staff is rarely there only when someone is checking in otherwise you’re out of luck with any help for anything. I tried to find other accommodations for the rest of our stay but everything was booked. Thank goodness it was only a few nights. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place especially in warm weather or you’ll be miserable.

First off beautiful room. NO AC as advertised. It was extremely hot for end of May. We opened our window and 100’s of mosquitoes came inside. I got buzzed all night around my head couldn’t sleep and so many mosquitoe bites all over. We told the cleaning lady out AC wasn’t working but nothing was done about it. Very disappointing for our stay for our 40th Anniversary vacation.

Very friendly & helpful staff. Great location. Very clean.
The room unfortunately had no jug in which to make tea or coffee & no where on the premises to do so. Not a glass or plate provided. Heated towel rail not working.

We rarely write reviews of places we have stayed but Locanda Ca' del Brocchi is so good we simply had to let others know about it. We were so blessed to have chosen it for our stay in Venice. Everything about it is great. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would return in a heart beat, If you are coming to Venice we absolutely recommend that you book to stay here, Stephen and Yvonne from Auckland New Zealand

Beautiful hotel in academia district. Accommodations were beautiful. We were provided new blow dryer when one didnt work. The refrigerator was stocked with affordable treats. We were provided a fan when the weather was hot and the AC was not allowed to be used due to Italy's policy. The staff was very helpful. We had to leave at 4:15 am by water taxi to get to the airport and it was all set up by staff. Great location and easy to walk to many areas

Stayed beginning of June for 4 nights with my granddaughter. Perfect location for visiting all sights in Venice. Excellent and attentive staff - very comfortable room and bathroom . Highly recommend
