We had a wonderful stay at Atami Kaihourou. The staff were friendly and made us feel comfortable right away. The ocean view was amazing and so relaxing—definitely something we looked forward to. We booked their last room last minute, it’s the cheapest room but still was spacious and with great design and nice view. I enjoyed my stay at Kaihourou. The view was breathtaking. Room was cozy yet sophisticated. The building is an architectural masterpiece by Kengo Kuna. Food was amazing and aesthetically presented. The onsen experience was very relaxing and exclusive. Not sure if this resort normally have English speaking guests. As the staff’s communication is quite limited with non-Japanese speakers.

The service and the large private onsen were excellent! Although Sawa's room was nice, it gave my son three big insect bites on his arms. We were not allowed to go up to view the second floor. The dinner and breakfast kaiseki were so-so and seemed ordinary. There is nothing to do around this place. The beach is too far. For the pricey amount we paid, I wouldn't recommend it. It's not worth it.

The room was spacious and clean, and the food was delicious. They provided futons for us which was convenient, and I was grateful that they could store my luggage for us. It was a bit of a walk from the station, but it was fun as it was close to the Ginza shopping district and the sea.

It took me about 15-20 minutes to walk from Atami Station. There is a bus, but I arrived late on the first day, so I walked instead. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes. The location is pretty good. There are small restaurants and the beach just outside. You can also walk to Hatsushima Pier or the Atami Castle Ropeway. But I think the hotel itself is just average.

A little vintage, and lacking a few amenities perhaps but the onsen is great, the staff friendly and its a minute walk to the beach. Corona season made it feel like a ghost hotel, but we had the onsen to ourselves so that was nice.

The Japanese-style room was very clean and nice. There was no TV in the room, but there was one in the multipurpose hall, so it wasn't a problem. There were no children around, so I was able to relax. The hot spring was just the right temperature, and although it was a small bath, there were no other guests, so I was able to relax.

The clean facilities include a kitchen, microwave, cutlery, and cups in the rooms. There's even a drum-type washing machine with detergent and a drying rack for drying your clothes.
