Atami Fuga in Atami

This was my first visit in four years. I was disappointed to find the quality had significantly declined. I suspect it's due to cost-cutting measures, but the main course wasn't served warm, and the buffet, which should have been a good accompaniment to wine, was disappointing. Having to constantly get up to get up ruined the atmosphere, and the menu lacked anything that would encourage drinking. It felt like they just wanted us to finish our meal quickly and go back to our rooms. Last time, we drank two bottles, but this time we could only manage one. Why are cheese and charcoal-grilled chicken served at breakfast instead of dinner? They'd sell more wine if they served them at dinner.

The check-in system, while seemingly convenient, is actually quite inconvenient. I wish they had provided some advance notice to help with preparation.

I won't be going back, but I hope they improve.

The staff's smiles and service were excellent, however.

I requested a shuttle service, but I was worried because I didn't receive any notice even though I was more than 10 minutes late. Since we had to climb quite a steep hill, I think it would be better to request a shuttle if you have a lot of luggage or if you arrive at night. Everything, from check-in to check-out, paying the bathing tax, and reserving the shuttle service, was done online, and I personally would have liked a little more interaction with the front desk and staff (I understand they're understaffed, but I booked because I wanted something different from a business hotel). The room was spacious, the view was amazing, and the hot springs were very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was also very satisfying.

Good Points
The room was spacious and the toilet was clean.
Room access was by PIN, so there was no need to carry a key.
I was happy that there was a wide variety of welcome drinks and light snacks.
There was a rock bath.
There was a Repronizer in the hair dryer in the changing room!
There was an air purifier.

Concerns
The telephone service before the stay was not very good.
The welcome drink booth was not cleaned properly.
We did most of the work online, which was actually a hassle, especially for someone my age.
I was also surprised that there was no internal phone line in the room.
Even though the indoor wear was yukata, there were no rubber bands provided in the dining area.
Overall, I felt that a little more hospitality could have been provided.

The basement carpark has only 6 lots for the size of hotel.. So we hv to park further down in the open car park.

The room we stayed has toilet but no bath or shower which make it inconvenient if you don't go for the onsen

The Onsen is nice anf clean.

Breakfast is too simple for the price of ¥29,500 we paid.

The room is big and clean.

Overall is not value for money

The room was clean and uncluttered, and the amenities were all the bare minimum. All the meals were delicious, and while the main fish and meat dishes were brought to you by staff, if you wanted more you could pick up food from the buffet corner - a style I've never experienced anywhere else, but I thought was great. I was traveling alone, and the style was comfortable for a solo traveler, allowing me to enjoy leisurely meals in the morning and evening. The cold pumpkin soup at dinner was particularly delicious, and I had seconds. I wondered how they managed to create that flavor... It became a memorable taste of my trip.

The scenery is very good and the price is very affordable. It is very suitable for vacation and rest! The breakfast is Japanese style, which is very enjoyable.

The food was delicious and the staff were very polite, so everything was perfect and it was a relaxing solo trip.

Onsen was good all the time.

Location abit far and hilly from town. That will be good if you are driving. They also provide free shuttle bus go train station.

Be prepare you own food before stay in if you dint get their dinner and break fast.

Good chill and relaxing hotel.

Upscale spa hot spring style hotel . Very clean and organised. Breakfast was very good and is included in the package. The downside is that the hotel is up a mountain and there are no restaurants or bars or stores nearby , for any activities you will need to take a taxi to the centre
