Arima Onsen Taketoritei Maruyama in Kobe

Visited in winter, it was really good overall. The only drawback was that the tatami mat was quite cold when we first entered.

The private onsen experience was excellent. The front desk staff spoke Chinese and provided great service. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus to the bus station, which was very convenient. In the lobby, there were various drinks and ice cream available, perfect for a refreshing treat after a hot spring bath. My only minor complaint is that the outdoor onsen didn't seem as clean as the indoor one, which was very refreshing.

I really like this private onsen hotel. It has both indoor and outdoor baths, featuring Arima's famous 'Golden Spring' and 'Silver Spring' waters. You can reserve them for private use, 45 minutes each time, and soak twice a day, morning and evening. I could only book the room through Ctrip, but I emailed the hotel directly to add breakfast and dinner, and the staff were all very enthusiastic and helpful. The hotel is halfway up a mountain, which was no problem since I was driving. They also offer a shuttle service to the station or city center, but you need to book it in advance.

It was absolutely awesome.
We really needed this kind of rest after two busy weeks in Japan. We were so happy to relax body and soul. The room was luxurious and spacious; we chose a traditional one. This was our first hot spring experience, so it's hard to compare, but we loved it. All the hot spring rooms are strictly private, which is why we chose this ryokan. We have very large tattoos, and there are no problems with that. The kaiseki dinner is a real ritual and a show that lasts two hours of clear pleasure, everything was incredibly delicious, beautiful, and nutritious. Breakfast was also excellent. I recommend arriving in Arima village in the morning, rather than staying in Kobe or Osaka, to have time to explore it. It's small but charming, with that perfect anime vibe.

Trip to heaven! The view is amazing

Made the right choice to splurge more on an room with an indoor Onsen. It’s our first time at a Ryokan and it was truly and enjoyable experience for both myself and my husband.
Service was immaculate from the pick up from Arima station, check in, dinner, breakfast to transfer to the bus station.
We shall plan to return when the weather is cooler.

One of the best accommodations I've ever had! Extremely polite and friendly service, private hotel springs are amazing, truly relaxing. Very easy and convenient self booking option. Free shuttle but to/from station, if you are afraid to call you can easily write them to WhatsApp or other messengers. I'm very exited and highly recommend this place to stay.
