Takigawa Ryokan in Kyoto

This place was AMAZING, exllent service, really warm atmosphere, all the staff was kind and accommodating, we been there for 4 night.. And they are provided free loundry for us.. Twice.. Toilet and shower are for sharing, like the real ryokan, there are also two separate onsen, one side for man, other side for woman.. We sleep in a traditional futon and had a traditional breakfast, all our stay wasn't just a plece for sleep.. But but a really experience of life.. Many many tanks to all the staff.. We enjoyed a lot our time in your ryokan, absolutely racomanded.. Arigató kosaimasu 🙏

An average ryokan, with everything you need, shared bathrooms, shared showers, and a great breakfast. We checked out on time, but asked my mother to stay at reception with her suitcase while we went to the train station. They readily agreed, but after a while, the staff started yelling at her and threw her out. Then they came back, yelled at her again, picked up the suitcases themselves, and carried them inside. My mother was very frightened; they were yelling loudly in Japanese and jumping around. Be careful, the staff are inappropriate.

What a wonderful experience? If you are looking for a traditional Japanese stay inn, this is the best option for you. We were so pleased with a location, the 5* customers service and how well was this establishment running. Our host even provided a laundry service for us. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I'm a fan of Ohno-kun, and I'd decided for a long time that if I came to Kyoto, I'd definitely stay here. The staff were all very kind, and they provided everything I needed, including face wash, toothpaste, and yukata. They asked me what time I wanted breakfast the night before, and the breakfast was very luxurious, and even coffee was provided. I was able to enjoy a traditional Japanese inn in comfort.

And the landlady showed me some private selfies that Ohno-kun had taken for a fan who had recently stayed here, and I was so touched by how kind she was 😭 Staying here was the happiest moment of my trip!

- A Nostalgic Touch: The entire ryokan has a delightful retro vibe, reminiscent of visiting grandparents’ home. The warmth and hospitality make it feel so special and inviting.

It's a very quiet and clean Japanese-style inn. The proprietress is warm and thoughtful. She will help you wash your clothes every morning, and put the folded clean clothes neatly in your room when you come back at night. I look forward to staying there next time.

It was my first ryokan ever in my life and I had a great experience. Everyone is super nice and the rooms are cute and the beds are very comfortable. The only problem was communal bathroom but honestly, it’s not that far from the rooms. They also have their own onsen which was super clean and nice. They do come into ur room and clean every day such as making your bed, providing you with new towels. They also provide laundry service and water for free.

This was our first ryokan in Japan. I liked everything very much. Perhaps because we were the only visitors. The breakfasts were wonderful. The staff tried very hard to make you feel comfortable.
