Huge thanks to the hotel for upgrading our room to the top floor! It's located south of Kyoto Station, making it super convenient to get to all the city's attractions via train, subway, or bus

There are plenty of restaurants and large department stores nearby, including an Aeon mall, plus all three major convenience stores are just around the corner. The room itself was renovated, quite spacious, and clean

Now, about the location: the hotel is actually a few minutes' walk further from the Shinkansen JR station compared to other hotels on the same street

It takes about 6-7 minutes to walk to the bus stop, so it depends on individual needs. Overall, for the price, staying here offers great value for money

The room amenities were thoughtfully prepared with three of each item, and the toothbrushes even came in three different colors, which was a nice touch

However, it's very close to Aeon Mall; you just turn left when you exit, which is a big plus. The mall closes at 9 PM and the supermarket at 10 PM

Great location and extremely nice hotel. For anyone worried about staying at a train station, the station is one of the nicest places I've ever seen. It's close to everything and the staff is very kind

The ramen at Ramen Street on Isetan's 10th floor is also delicious – I recommend the tantanmen; it's spicy and incredibly satisfying! When checking out, I bought a Hello Kitty Haruka e-ticket directly on Klook, and I could just scan my phone to enter and exit

The location is incredibly convenient, right on the second floor of Kyoto Station. Every time we exited the subway, we were practically at the hotel, which was super handy

Very good, the room was spacious with a pleasant view from the window. Personally, I felt the breakfast on the 36th floor was better than on the 37th.

Aircon in room wasn’t that cool as it could get stuffy with 4 people in the room. Little dated hotel but good for staying a night or 2. Parking was free when signed up with their free membership program

About a ten-minute walk away, there's also a sushi restaurant with excellent value for money and incredibly fresh ingredients

The lakeside room is incomparable to general street view or building view hotels, giving guests the feeling of exceptional value. It is difficult to find such spacious rooms at the same price in other hotels in Japan

This hotel faces Lake Biwa directly, offering fantastic views. It's conveniently located near a supermarket and a popular duck meat soba restaurant by the lake. The hotel's shuttle bus is also very convenient

Hotel Otsu Biwako was absolutely superb in terms of both facilities and service. It was the most satisfying hotel stay during my entire trip to Japan. We were given a high-floor room with a delightful view

Also can’t/won’t accept our luggage a day before check-in, which was a bit inconvenient compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at in Japan who happily accepted our luggage two days prior

In fact when we tried to extend our stay, they told us that the hotel was fully booked. However I found availability online and managed to book through there. The smaller rooms are definitely tight but well kept

We had a comfortable stay overall at Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto. The staff were professional and polite, and the hotel is conveniently located close to the station, easy to get around

The entrance and ground floor assist to be renovated and quite modern. Rooms are old school decor wise but very comfortable. Great location, Close to kyoto station via a pedestrian shortcut

I later found out and planned to try the 14th-floor breakfast the next day, only to discover the air conditioning was broken and it was temporarily closed for repairs

Service was good. The hotel comes with onsen and there are many amenities available at the lobby. The best part of the hotel is the location. You can’t get any closer to the train station. Love it!

2nd floor onzen opening hours are long enough to accommodate guests’ travelling plans/schedules (6am to 9am & 4pm to 1am). Great location and hassle free self check in and check out process. Room is small but comfortable

Only fall short in terms of amenities. Only very basic standard items such as comb, face wash. Disappointed that it doesn’t provide items such as mouthwash, onzen bath powder, facial mask

The lobby offers complimentary DHC basic skincare products, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. I especially loved their cleansing oil and facial cleanser. The POLA toiletries provided in the public bath were also excellent

This place is just amazing. Good foods, location and friendly staffs. Wonderful onsen, perfect supper etc. We will definitely revisit!

Service and facilities were excellent. The morning buffet had a large variety of food. And the nightly ramen was a thoughtful touch to the whole onsen.

The onsen (hot spring bath) area is communal, and it's a good experience to try it out. Hotel breakfast requires an additional payment, and it gets very crowded after 8 AM. They also offer free ramen after 9 PM!

This was the second hotel on our Japan trip, and it was excellent! The hotel is located directly across from Kyoto Station's Hachijo Exit. Since we had a JR Pass, staying near the station made getting around much easier

I stayed here for New Year's Day and found it incredibly convenient for getting around. It's perfectly situated between Daimaru and Takashimaya, making it a top choice for shopping

Great hotel! Literally just beside the train station and tracks. My room faces the train station and tracks. You can see the people and train up close! 😁 So convenient! Malls everywhere with tons of food to eat

We found one halal restaurant Zen which was a little pricy but the quality of the food and the friendly staff makes it so worth it. There's a few shopping malls and the Aeon Mall is worth a visit too

Apart from it took us a while to find the entrance coz we missed it the first time and went back down the escalator near the Starbucks than it's on the right side. Just look out for the signage

Easy to reach all the major attractions. Went to uji, otsu and yamashina. Recommend to stay in this very comfortable hotel! Room for 2 person is comfy enough

I had originally scheduled to pick up my luggage at 6 PM, but my plans changed, and I went to pick it up at 1:50 PM. The staff helped me with my bags and even asked if my kids and I were hungry, offering us a simple meal

Despite being away from the city they charge for parking and also despite being a platinum elite member no benefits extended. They were pretty stuck about everything and I did not enjoy the lack of care

The hotel is incredibly well-located, just 200 meters from a subway station. A large supermarket is also conveniently situated about 200 meters to the right, and there's even another supermarket down a nearby alley

The front desk staff were very polite, but it seemed there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff. The hotel feels a bit old, and it seems to cater more to local Japanese guests rather than mainland Chinese tourists

Best hotel ever visited. Service is superb. Bus stop no.31 right in front of hotel goes back and forth to Gion area. Breakfast was really good, tasty and fresh

Also, there's no washing machine or laundry room, which is quite inconvenient for extended stays. The water dispenser and ice machine on our floor were also broken. I feel like the facilities could be greatly improved

It's quite close to the subway station (and two lines intersect there), but in Kyoto, it's generally more convenient to take the bus. Next time, I might choose a hotel with more bus stops right outside

The hotel was quite okay & the location was good as it was near stations.

It's within walking distance of a very large and bustling train station filled with shops, perfect for buying souvenirs, for example! There's also a shopping mall near the hotel, though we never made it there

However, the air conditioning in the dining area is incredibly strong; everyone was freezing, and some even came down in their jackets. We wore warm hoodies and still felt cold, which was uncomfortable

About a 10min walk from Kyoto Station. Room for one in the main building was the standard business hotel (Bed, table/desk, bathroom). Also has a side building/annex but not sure of the rooms there

queit location to enjoy the authenticity of kyoto. it has everything we need, a well equipped gym, good size indoor pool and a hotpring spa. we had a room with terrace overlooking the city

We had connecting rooms right at the end of the hotel leve. The air heater is not working very well although there is an air purifier provided for each room. So at night it became very cold

The hotel's location is pretty good, on the north side of the JR station. It's not as bustling as the south side, but it's very close to the bus stop. You can also easily catch buses to various attractions

There’s a curry rice shop 1-2mins walk away from the hotel towards Kyoto station, that is absolutely delicious and affordable and is on our mind till this day!)
