Kyoto, JR Kyoto Station, Karasuma Chuo-guchi (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Great location and extremely nice hotel. For anyone worried about staying at a train station, the station is one of the nicest places I've ever seen. It's close to everything and the staff is very kind
Super great location, one minute walk to kyoto station. Spacious room, feeling Comfortable.
The night view from the window was fantastic; from our room, we could see the railway lines of Kyoto Station, and I imagine the Kyoto Tower would be visible from the other side. It seems the swimming pool has a fee
When we checked out, my son forgot his watch in the room. After contacting Ctrip, the hotel located it and held it at the front desk. When we went to pick it up, they had even packaged it nicely in a bag for us
The location is incredibly convenient, right on the second floor of Kyoto Station. Every time we exited the subway, we were practically at the hotel, which was super handy
The room itself was quite spacious, with a business-like aesthetic

Only fall short in terms of amenities. Only very basic standard items such as comb, face wash. Disappointed that it doesn’t provide items such as mouthwash, onzen bath powder, facial mask
Received the beat customer service. Rooms are small but well formed and very clean. Only critism too hot in the room, but once you open the window, it is fine
Extremely good breakfast buffet spread and sufficient varieties for vegetarian travellers at JPY1,980 after tax
2nd floor onzen opening hours are long enough to accommodate guests’ travelling plans/schedules (6am to 9am & 4pm to 1am). Great location and hassle free self check in and check out process. Room is small but comfortable
The new annex has a free public bath on the second floor; you need your room key to enter, and women also have an additional code. After a day of exploring, the public bath was our favorite place to relax every evening
The lobby offers complimentary DHC basic skincare products, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. I especially loved their cleansing oil and facial cleanser. The POLA toiletries provided in the public bath were also excellent

Also can’t/won’t accept our luggage a day before check-in, which was a bit inconvenient compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at in Japan who happily accepted our luggage two days prior
In fact when we tried to extend our stay, they told us that the hotel was fully booked. However I found availability online and managed to book through there. The smaller rooms are definitely tight but well kept
We had a comfortable stay overall at Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto. The staff were professional and polite, and the hotel is conveniently located close to the station, easy to get around
The entrance and ground floor assist to be renovated and quite modern. Rooms are old school decor wise but very comfortable. Great location, Close to kyoto station via a pedestrian shortcut
Overall, this hotel is pretty good. My only minor complaint is that I wasn't informed about the two breakfast areas upon check-in
There’s a complimentary shuttle service to and from the hotel to the station. That said, some areas could be improved. The bathroom felt quite dated and could really use a reno

The beds were firm and very comfortable, and although our room was on the smaller side (typical for Japan), it had everything we needed. We were also treated to POLA hair and body products in the bathroom and the onsen
This is a large onsen hotel, not far from JR Kyoto Station, with plenty of dining options nearby, making it very convenient. Upon entering, you need to take off your shoes and store them
The onsen (hot spring bath) area is communal, and it's a good experience to try it out. Hotel breakfast requires an additional payment, and it gets very crowded after 8 AM. They also offer free ramen after 9 PM!
This was probably the best hotel I stayed at in Japan. It felt incredibly clean — guests must remove their shoes at the entrance and store them in the shoe cabinets, so everyone walks around in socks
After each onsen session we could enjoy free ice cream or ice lollies and a bowl of ramen. The rooms blend modern design with traditional tatami style
The onsen was outstanding: there were at least four pools, so it never felt crowded, plenty of shower cubicles, and a steam room with a TV
Kyoto, 44-1, Kamitonodacho, Higashikujo (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
The only downside is that the ventilation fan is quite noisy at night, which might affect light sleepers. However, I'm very satisfied and would consider staying here again on my next visit
The room is genuinely tiny, but the location is fantastic. It's a very compact space, but they've managed to fit in a good range of facilities. The price, however, is truly high
The hotel is less than 2 minutes from the exit, making its location excellent for getting anywhere. The rooms are very clean, and the breakfast is delicious
Service was excellent, they even mailed my 8 year old daughter's purse overseas to us that she accidentally had left in the bathroom. Definitely would stay there again
Had such a great stay at this hotel. The environment is beautiful and comfortable, and the location is very convenient — easy to get around everywhere
It’s also very family-friendly, especially for those traveling with kids. Definitely a place I would come back to again 🤍

Convenient central Kyoto location, next to subway station and in close proximity to many local attractions. If you a keen runner, there is a beautiful run and walking route around the river and map is provided by hotel
Traveling to Kyoto with my family, choosing to stay here was definitely the right decision. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from Kyoto Station, which is incredibly convenient
The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming; we weren't sure how to get to the lobby for check-in from a shop in the mall, and a staff member from the shop actually escorted us there
The hotel staff, just like in a standard five-star hotel back home, helped us with our luggage, which is quite rare for the five-star hotels we've stayed at a few times in Japan
The buffet breakfast is on the 17th floor, offering lovely views of Higashiyama and the Kamo River. The breakfast spread is quite extensive and the quality is good
We recommended this hotel to all kinds of travelers from nearby beautiful places and shopping areas spacious room, delicious meals and good services
Kyoto, 707-1 Myodenji-cho, Shijo-sagaru (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The room was very clean and spacious. The hotel is right next to a bus stop and a convenience store, which made getting around super easy. All the staff were really welcoming and provided excellent service
I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Kyoto!
I had originally scheduled to pick up my luggage at 6 PM, but my plans changed, and I went to pick it up at 1:50 PM. The staff helped me with my bags and even asked if my kids and I were hungry, offering us a simple meal
Extremely satisfied! 😀 The lobby always smells amazing, and I got an incredible price for a 5-night stay this time. Super happy! I'll definitely be back! Always beautiful Kyoto!
The service was great, and the environment was nice too. The main advantage is the convenient location, very close to the tram station, making it easy to get anywhere
There are also many supermarkets and convenience stores nearby, which is handy for shopping. However, it's a bit of a shame that the public bath isn't a hot spring
Kyoto, 604 Manjuya-cho, Sanjo-sagaru (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel is incredibly well-located, just 200 meters from a subway station. A large supermarket is also conveniently situated about 200 meters to the right, and there's even another supermarket down a nearby alley
The front desk staff were very polite, but it seemed there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff. The hotel feels a bit old, and it seems to cater more to local Japanese guests rather than mainland Chinese tourists
Great hotel to stay at Kyoto! Love the hot spring bath! It's definitely a big plus. 2 min walk to metro station is very convenient. Room is spacious. TV can watch YouTube! Will stay again if I ever come Kyoto again.
The onsen (hot spring bath) is small and gets very crowded; the women's bath was almost always full at every time of day
It's like no one wants to shower in their own room's bathtub; everyone prefers the public bath for convenience
Thanks to the hotel for giving this 'maple leaf refugee' an unforgettable memory!
The hotel's hot spring was great, and the breakfast tasted good, though it got a bit repetitive after four days 😂
For those reading this, here's a bonus tip: the furisode at the costume shop opposite Yuanshan Park are super cheap, highly recommended!
Finally, it's a shame I still couldn't make it to Kibune-Sanzen (°ー...

We came to Kyoto for three nights and checked into this wonderful hotel
It's within walking distance of a very large and bustling train station filled with shops, perfect for buying souvenirs, for example! There's also a shopping mall near the hotel, though we never made it there
However, the air conditioning in the dining area is incredibly strong; everyone was freezing, and some even came down in their jackets. We wore warm hoodies and still felt cold, which was uncomfortable
About a 10min walk from Kyoto Station. Room for one in the main building was the standard business hotel (Bed, table/desk, bathroom). Also has a side building/annex but not sure of the rooms there
its a little walking distance from the Kyoto station but closer to the other metro station. the facility has common bath and a massage place. Its relatively clean and the stay was good.
I was able to get rid of my large suitcase that I dragged around for 2 weeks and sent it to Haneda Airport allowing me to travel light for my last week which I was super grateful for

You can access beautiful gardens directly from the hotel's central area, and the hotel's onsen hot springs are also very good. Breakfast is abundant with great views too. Overall, it exudes a classic sense of luxury
The hotel is also less than two kilometers from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, so it's an easy walk. The surrounding area is beautiful too, with a lovely free park nearby, and the hotel even has its own back mountain
The Junior Suite is great!
The room is spacious with a fabulous countryside and temple view, the welcoming snacks and water are warm and sweet. Shuttle Bus service and Family Mart is convenient
A big plus is the free shuttle service to and from Kyoto Metro Station, which was incredibly convenient. The shuttle even makes free stops at attractions along the way, which was super handy
queit location to enjoy the authenticity of kyoto. it has everything we need, a well equipped gym, good size indoor pool and a hotpring spa. we had a room with terrace overlooking the city
Cake shop and Club Lounge offered wide variety of food and drinks. Overall it’s a pleasant stay, will definitely come back again. Hopefully can get a higher floor next time :) :)

Super quiet too - Feel like no one else was staying on our floor. So so clean, modern bathrooms really lovely! Staff were super friendly. Pretty good locations for trains and walking distance to Kyoto Tower/Kyoto station
The onsen is clean and spacious. Rooms are spacious too for Japan. Water pressure in the shower is great and loved the scent of their hotel bath gels and shampoo
At first we had a room down to the road and was a bit bothered by the noise of car/motorcycles late at night - so we asked to change rooms and the staff was very helpful about it
Enjoyed the amenities in the room. Comfortable mattress, compared to other Japanese hotel mattresses. One underground stop from Kyoto Train Station. Also hotel location is quite central to all sights snd shopping
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel for 3 nights. Its room was clean and well organized with modern furniture and equipment. It offers many washers and dryers as well as ice machine and microwave oven
The location is perfect for a visit to Kyoto and the hotel is very nice and clean. There is an onsen/public bath available for guests

The hotel's location is pretty good, on the north side of the JR station. It's not as bustling as the south side, but it's very close to the bus stop. You can also easily catch buses to various attractions
There’s a curry rice shop 1-2mins walk away from the hotel towards Kyoto station, that is absolutely delicious and affordable and is on our mind till this day!)
As is typical for Japanese hotels, the room and the bathroom with its separate toilet, sink, and shower are on the small side. The housekeeping is excellent, and the breakfast is quite good
The room feels cozy and has a spacious bathroom which was a pleasant addition. We will be recommending this hotel and will make a return in future! (P
This hotel is less than a ten-minute walk from Kyoto Station, but it's on the opposite side of Yodobashi Camera, which makes it slightly less convenient than the other side

The hotel's location is fantastic! The design is also very modern and forward-thinking. The front desk and concierge staff were all incredibly enthusiastic and always attentive to whether we needed any assistance
this hotel provided us with a top quality service and the rooms are super huge. Gym has plenty of machines and weights. Breakfast was amazing as well. 1 minute away from Kyoto station to top it all off.
It was a very satisfying stay. We stayed in Japan for 7 nights and switched between 3 hotels, and this was by far the most satisfying five-star hotel experience!
Hotel was very sophisticated and clean. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.
They have an excellent dry sauna and a stone sauna along with a cold pool to cool off in after the sauna, as well as, a traditional hot water bath to soak in if that’s more to your taste
Spacious room, good coffee and tea making facilities.
Super handy location for main Kyoto train station.

I enjoyed every moment in the hotel. They've a restaurant with really nice breakfast and in the evening, they've live singing a well. It's just about 10 minutes from the train station by a slow walk
The hotel also provides a free coffee machine and self-serve pour-over coffee. Plus, guests can enjoy a complimentary welcome drink at the restaurant & bar daily by simply showing their room key
I stayed for five nights, and this was hands down the best hotel during my entire 20-day trip to Japan. The room was spacious and even had a balcony, offering excellent value for money
Its location is superb – just a five-minute walk from Kyoto Station, making it incredibly convenient for day trips to Nara and Uji, as well as catching the airport bus or Shinkansen
The location is excellent! It's just a three-minute walk from Kyoto Station, which is also the main hub for trips to the airport, Osaka, and Nara
I'm sure there's a lot more to discover about the hotel which I've not explored. But if i ever come back to Kyoto, this will be the hotel i book

Don’t miss breakfast! It’s really good
Saw the hotel right outside the subway exit and didn't want to drag my luggage around looking for another place. The location is super convenient, and the price was a great deal – the cheapest hotel I booked this week
Booked a triple room this time, and I'm really happy with the atmosphere here. It's super spacious! I slept very comfortably. They offer complimentary drinks and coffee in the pantry until 11 PM
They did provide a while range of selections - even ungai! Unfortunately, I didn’t really like the pillow/bed as I couldn’t sleep well. Overall, it is value for money so I might come back

The location is super convenient; within a 10-minute walk, there's a subway and bus station, and it's also very close to Kyoto Station – excellent transportation. The hotel facilities are relatively new
Hotel very near to Kujo station and Kyoto station. Hotel is clean but toilet is quite small.
Check-in was seamless, and the hot springs were open very late, almost all day long! You can grab toiletries and other items as needed, and room cleaning can be intelligently selected, which eliminates a lot of communication hassle and is very efficient
This time I tried the breakfast, but unfortunately, I went a bit late so there weren't as many options, but it was still really good and delicious. The only thing is the shampoo and toiletries changed from Pola to Kao
The hotel's location is super convenient, just a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station and about 8 minutes from Isetan and Aeon. There's also a bus stop just 5 minutes away that goes directly to Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Only cons is that you can smell cigarettes in the lobby.
I booked this through Ctrip's group buy, and it was excellent value for money. Although the room was small, it was very well-designed. It was also very convenient and safe for my child to stay there alone

We cannot complain this hotel is perfect for travelers who want comfortable Western-style accommodation in Kyoto with easy transport access.
Also visitors planning to explore the city (walking + subway/bus)
Although an older hotel it is very clean and excellent customer service. There is a business centre so one can search for places to go in Japanese and print out the address and show to taxi drivers
This was my boyfriend’s first time visiting Japan, and we came to Kyoto for sightseeing. The hotel staff were kind, and at check-in they upgraded us to a room on a newly renovated floor
We would definitely love to stay here again the next time we visit Kyoto. Special thanks to the bus drivers and to Mr. Nishimura at the front desk for their kindness and support
Even for me, living in Tokyo, the interior design and the hospitality of the staff really made me feel the true essence of Kyoto, and it became a wonderful memory for us

The room wasn't small (the double bed allowed access from both sides), there was a bathtub (though I didn't have time to use it), and the bathroom design was well-thought-out (separate wet and dry areas, convenient for two people to use simultaneously)
It was definitely clean, and pretty close to the high-speed train station, which was convenient. The breakfast was decent, and the bathhouse was clean, but it felt a bit lacking in terms of amenities and features
The hotel offers great facilities such as a public bath, laundry area, and on-site Family mart.

I will definitely stay here again next time.
We did not expect to check in early but we had been told our room was ready when we have arrived 3 hrs early. 1 minute walk to JR station, Umekoji park and The Aquarium
