Hotel Sugicho, Kyoto1 / 22
9.1
Kyoto, 172 Moriyamacho, Nakagyou-ku (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The room had a wonderfully calming Japanese-style interior. The lobby also maintained a strong Japanese aesthetic, making it the kind of hotel where you'd want to stay another night.
The hot tub on the first floor was a hit with kids, and the breakfast was a perfect Japanese meal. It also offered an experience of Japanese tatami culture. The price wasn't the best value, but overall it was acceptable.
Incredible! Large bathtub and spacious ryokan-style room!
The location is close to the station, and the facilities are clean. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The bedding was clean, and the breakfast was surprisingly good, with a decent selection. I'll definitely stay here again.
Very nice house, well maintained. Excellent value for money for Kyoto. Good central location close to transport to the main sites!
Very comfortable tatami, clean, free hot spring. I like it very much. It takes a long time to walk after getting off the subway. There is no subway station nearby. Other than that, it is very good.

Overall was ok for this price, location was not convinent, have to take bus when go to the restaurant or shoping center.
Very comfortable, small room but very friendly. Check-in is very convenient. Near the aquarium, not far to walk. There is a Family Mart in front. ☺️
Very good, very good, very good
Accommodation is quite affordable and location is somewhat decent with a bus stop nearby with a direct bus to kyoto station. be mindful you will be sharing toilet and shower.
The room is really good for this price. You can go to Kinkakuji Temple and Arashiyama from 205. There is also a Sukiya at the intersection.
It was so good I plan to use it again next time I go to Kyoto. I recommend it~~

Kyoto, 423 Matsuyacho Shimogyo-ku (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
I chose to stay at Pocket Hotel near Gojo Subway Station for my cherry blossom viewing trip in Kyoto. It was incredibly clean and hygienic, with separate accommodations and bathing facilities for men and women. I'll definitely stay here again next time. It offers excellent value for money and is very clean. Truly a great choice!
It feels like a boutique hotel but at a hostel price point, offering the perfect balance of privacy and community. The rooms are cleverly designed and spotless, while the communal lounge is a great place to plan your day. Being so close to the subway and Kyoto’s best shrines, it’s the ideal home base for exploring.
The hygiene was good, but you have to make your own futon. The front desk service was also very good. I arrived in Kyoto in the morning feeling very tired, so I paid extra to check in early, and I could even pay with Alipay.
This place is AMAZING for its price point. Everything is sparkling clean and quite new. The location is amazing as it is just next to the metro station. It is also quite close to the bus station and that's important as buses are way more convenient than trains in Kyoto. For food, there are cheap franchised restaurants around and 7-eleven right opposite. In terms of service, the staff there are friendly...
I had a very satisfying trip. It was very convenient to get to several places from here.
This hotel is in a super convenient location, very close to the subway exit. It's also really quiet, and there are plenty of dining options nearby like Yoshinoya, McDonald's, and three Japanese restaurants, all at reasonable prices. Plus, there's a 24-hour supermarket just around the corner. Inside the hotel, the restrooms, showers, and hallways are all very warm and comfortable, thanks to the good...

Good place and location , a lot of technological innovations which is pretty cool
If you want to make international friends and are into the backpacker vibe, this is the place for you. Very clean. Polite staff. Able to store luggage before check in. Location is right in the middle of the tourist district. Sometimes the elevator was very slow to pick you up if a busy time. My capsule room had a rip in the screen which let light in. Of course, the nature of this hotel is you are close...
Overall great experience at the Millenials Kyoto. When you arrive there is a possibility to leave your luggage before check-in. The bed is quite comfortable, the bathroom could be a bit cleaner ->dust falling from the A.C fan… The service is impeccable (there is even unlimited cofee/hot chocolate… available all day long) Breakfast could have more fresh pastries (they where taken out of the plastic...
Hotels in Kyoto are really expensive during autumn leaf season, so this place is a great value for solo travelers. They provide slippers and towels, and the shared bathrooms are very clean and modern. The showers are spacious, and the staff are friendly. It's a bit of a walk to the subway on the main street, but very convenient for buses. Everyone staying here is quite quiet. The only downside is the...

THE POCKET HOTEL Kyoto is suitable if you are looking for a simple place just to sleep. The room is very small, typical of budget hotels in Japan, and only really comfortable for resting. If you want to open your luggage, it’s best to bring a cabin-size suitcase, as there is very limited space. The bathroom is shared, which can be a bit inconvenient, especially if your room and the bathroom are on...
Stayed from 12 to 16 of March Good location near the subway and the market. The hotel was nice and quiet and I stayed at the female only section. You had to use your card so I felt very safe. Good location near Nishiki market. The rooms are expectedly small, but clean and they provide fresh towels every day. The shower/bathroom facilities are always clean and comfortable to use. I appreciated the women’s only floor.
Very convenient location, the hotel service is super excellent. Prepare a lot of guidance (tourist spot or food spot) for tourist. Room is clean and facility all good.
it clean, bright for both the , room and toilet. the room was small but feel very comfortable. they have private female use toilet located onnthe 3rd floor. it safe as u near room card to access to the lift and toilet. it location is great with branded shopping and near to the nishik market. can find vegetarian/vegan restaurant around the hotel
Was a lovely stay, the hotel felt extremely clean, well managed and very safe. The rooms were small but cozy, the toilets and shared bathrooms were clean with good vibes all around, the location was great being smack bang in the middle of down town Kyoto. Excellent service and a fantastic location! It's surrounded by a bustling commercial street, making it incredibly convenient for getting around.
Great location with basic amenities. Good for tourist. Well recommended and situated in a good location Laundry facilities can be improved by having paid laundry and the machine being lockable. Had laundry taken out inconsiderate users when it’s not finished yet
The location is great! The wifi was problematic though...we ended up using our own sim cards. Facilties are a bit old, especially the heating. There's only 4 settings, not like an aircon remote. But otherwise beds are comfy and there was sufficient space for luggages.
Old hotel with an entrance right at the station. Living on lower floors guarantees vibration from the trains and sound from the street. Location itself is great and price is adequate for the location.
The location couldn't be better. It's super convenient for visiting Arashiyama, Uji, and other places. Downstairs, you'll find popular shopping spots like Shinkyogoku Shopping Street, and Takashimaya is right across the street.
The Kyoto Central Hotel boasts an excellent location, right by the Hankyu station exit. The facilities are a bit dated, and you don't need a key card for power, but there are very few outlets. I booked a single room with a single bed but was given a standard room, which was a bit confusing. Living in the city center has its clear pros and cons: it's next to a subway station, making it convenient to...

Not very close to Kyoto station ngl . You have to walk like 10-15mins . But close to 九条 station(but no elevator). The bed sheet was a little bit dirty..
Very clean nice but i litte bite confuse about the key😅
Good location and good service. It’s easy to access Fushimi Inari Shrine and Tofuku-ji Temple.
We stayed at this hotel during for two nights. 15 minutes walk from Kyoto station. The room is small, but quite clean. Friendly staff all time, no issue during our stay. Breakfast has a small but pleasant selection of food, including self cooking noodle bar and curry rice. I also noticed that they change some menu items daily. This property is good money worth choice.
Staff are friendly & warm welcome. Room cleaning was done as scheduled.
Enjoyed the free drink station and place to eat food. Didn’t like how they won’t clean your room if you stay under 3 nights.

The room wasn't big but it was very clean. Breakfast was a buffet, consisting of simple toast and instant noodles. The hotel's location was excellent, very close to the station and next to Aeon Mall, making shopping and dining very convenient.
Although the room is small, it's fully equipped and offers all the basic services you need. Breakfast, drinks, and coffee are provided free of charge on the first floor. It's about a 5-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station. Note that getting to the JR station from the hotel requires walking through a long underground passage; the hotel faces the Shinkansen platform directly.
The room is old, the location is average, about ten minutes walk from Kyoto Station, the hygiene is not very good, and the hotel does not provide luggage storage service, which is very inconvenient
Simple hotel for the night with a great location near Kyoto Station. Room is standard size but it’s all I needed.
Location wise, its very convenient but it isn’t the best hotel within its price range. They don’t accept luggage storage after checkout which is unusual in business hotels as far as I’ve experienced.
Second day. No bread for breakfast ! I ask why. Answer of the desk : hôtel is crowded ! Guys, you know it in advance, just buy enough bread !

Couldn't have found a better place in the heart of Kyoto. The owner is amazing and very helpful for everything, location is perfect for exploring on foot. Highly recommend this ryokan for your stay in the city.
This was the perfect place to stay for our four nights in Kyoto. It is located in a quiet neighborhood that is close to many dining options and sites, but also close to public transportation if you need to go further. Really good location here. Really good location here. relax
Clean, quite and convenient. A very good place to stay a while.
The hotel is located right outside the Otsu Station ticket gates. Entering the property is through the attached bar and restaurant. Most of the nearby restaurants seem to close around 11pm. There are no cooking utensils, but you can bring your own food and drink in the common areas. There are also pots and water dispensers, so we were able to eat cup ramen inside the hotel.
Excellent establishment, the staff are very pleasant and everything is very clean.
I used it last time, and the location, directly connected to the station, is very convenient. The showers, powder rooms, and other facilities are spacious and clean, making it a pleasant experience. I'd like to use it again.
Excellent location, right at the station. Check in 16h00. No wifi offered. Hotel access via public restaurant - feels weird to walk between diners to go out / return. The room is a little bit small for four persons but still sufficient considering it’s in Japan. The facilities provided are perfect especially the lounge area.
I had a pleasant stay at Webase Kyoto. The room was clean, the common areas were well-maintained, and the staff were helpful throughout my visit. I would consider staying again.
The room is clean, a little bit far from the BTS station but convenient. The management system is good. The bathroom is shared but well managed. The shared shower room has enough space.
The reception was very warm; there was even a Russian-speaking staff member who gave us detailed information about the hotel's surroundings. Thanks to him, we were able to find perhaps the best cento of our trip. The room's downsides included the windows not opening, the combined bathroom and shower, and short blankets. The room's advantages included power outlets by the bed.
Best place to stay. The room is big, but the bathroom is not inside.
For the price its a good deal. However, note that the room is really small. We had to open our suitcases on the table to save space.

I'm happy to be able to drink soft drinks for free. I also appreciate that there is a WaterServer on each floor.
Very small hotel. Not suitable for taking children.
The hotel is about 100 meters away from the subway exit, as long as you find the right exit. The room is not too small. The front desk is from Southeast Asia and the service is no problem. The room is really not too small, and there is also a leg massager. It is within walking distance to scenic spots and shopping. All kinds of food in the surrounding area can satisfy you.
Breakfast is average, not many choices. The hotel staff are very polite.
It was clean and good for the price. I had a free time and didn't have to worry about laughing. The front desk staff was also kind and happy. Sightseeing is easy and convenient. Recommended!
The hotel is very close to the subway station. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Zhuyuan, Yasaka Shrine and Kamogawa. The hotel room is relatively large in Kyoto. The hotel environment is clean and soundproofed, and the service staff are very friendly. The room is equipped with a leg and foot massager, which can help relieve the fatigue of daily travel, which is great!

I don't know why, but I can't seem to remember staying here at all.
The hotel has a very authentic Japanese style, giving it a cozy, home-like feel. The hot spring baths are also great and free to use. Breakfast was very rich, and the rice, in particular, was delicious. The only downside is that breakfast starts quite early, and the room facilities are a bit basic, but overall, the value for money is still acceptable.
Really good amenities. Has Massage and public bath
The hot bath and service were very satisfying. Soaking in the hot springs really helps wash away the day's fatigue. The front desk staff proactively helped with our luggage, which was excellent service. The only slight disappointment was that the futon mattresses on the tatami felt a bit old and had a faint smell.
Great onsen tattoo friendly! If you want a traditional Japanese experience this is the place, from bedroom to breakfast.

Staff was friendly and polite. Room is clean and comfortable. Location is a strong point as the hotel is very central and within walking distance to temples and shopping district.
For this price, the value for money is really good. However, they don't offer room cleaning, but they do provide towel changes. There's a free coffee machine on the first floor. The location on Huajian Road is also very convenient. Overall, the size of the room is perfectly fine for one person. Recommended!
Fantastic hotel. Great location, super helpful employees (who called a bike rental place for us), and good lobby with tea and coffee. There is no breakfast available, but we ususally got breakfast at a convenience store and ate it in the lobby. I would book here again.

Karaksa was a very comfortable and clean stay. The downstairs area was also welcoming and comfortable. Staff were great, location was close to public transport but if you like to walk places probably not the best location as it's slightly too far to walk easily to a lot of Kyoto's tourist destinations.
The Karaksa hotel is a clean and nice hotel. It has everything you need and nothing else. It is a modern hotel with simplicity at its core. No extravagant offerings or amenities.
