Aside from its location by Lake Biwa, this is a very ordinary hotel with basically no service. The air conditioning was uncomfortable, either too cold or too dry. The windows were also dirty, making it hard to see the Lake Biwa scenery clearly.

The lobby bar on the hotel's ground floor is even cozier than a cafe; I stayed for five days and started every day of my trip with a coffee there. The hotel's facilities and service are impeccable. The location is perfect for a visit to Kyoto and the hotel is very nice and clean. There is an onsen/public bath available for guests. At first we had a room down to the road and was a bit bothered by the noise of car/motorcycles late at night - so we asked to change rooms and the staff was very helpful about it.
