Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo, Kyoto1 / 28
9.3
Kyoto, 17 Nishi Kujoin-machi, Minami-ku (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Parking: Free parking
This is a relatively large hotel. Check-in and check-out at the front desk were self-service, which was very convenient. However, they didn't provide any skincare products
Huge thanks to the hotel for upgrading our room to the top floor! It's located south of Kyoto Station, making it super convenient to get to all the city's attractions via train, subway, or bus
It takes about 6-7 minutes to walk to the bus stop, so it depends on individual needs. Overall, for the price, staying here offers great value for money
The room amenities were thoughtfully prepared with three of each item, and the toothbrushes even came in three different colors, which was a nice touch
Now, about the location: the hotel is actually a few minutes' walk further from the Shinkansen JR station compared to other hotels on the same street
However, it's very close to Aeon Mall; you just turn left when you exit, which is a big plus. The mall closes at 9 PM and the supermarket at 10 PM

Great location and extremely nice hotel. For anyone worried about staying at a train station, the station is one of the nicest places I've ever seen. It's close to everything and the staff is very kind
Super great location, one minute walk to kyoto station. Spacious room, feeling Comfortable.
The night view from the window was fantastic; from our room, we could see the railway lines of Kyoto Station, and I imagine the Kyoto Tower would be visible from the other side. It seems the swimming pool has a fee
When we checked out, my son forgot his watch in the room. After contacting Ctrip, the hotel located it and held it at the front desk. When we went to pick it up, they had even packaged it nicely in a bag for us
The location is incredibly convenient, right on the second floor of Kyoto Station. Every time we exited the subway, we were practically at the hotel, which was super handy
The room itself was quite spacious, with a business-like aesthetic

Only fall short in terms of amenities. Only very basic standard items such as comb, face wash. Disappointed that it doesn’t provide items such as mouthwash, onzen bath powder, facial mask
Received the beat customer service. Rooms are small but well formed and very clean. Only critism too hot in the room, but once you open the window, it is fine
Extremely good breakfast buffet spread and sufficient varieties for vegetarian travellers at JPY1,980 after tax
The lobby offers complimentary DHC basic skincare products, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. I especially loved their cleansing oil and facial cleanser. The POLA toiletries provided in the public bath were also excellent
2nd floor onzen opening hours are long enough to accommodate guests’ travelling plans/schedules (6am to 9am & 4pm to 1am). Great location and hassle free self check in and check out process. Room is small but comfortable
The new annex has a free public bath on the second floor; you need your room key to enter, and women also have an additional code. After a day of exploring, the public bath was our favorite place to relax every evening

Otsu, 4-7-7 Nionohama (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Parking: Free parking
I especially love the fragrant POLA toiletries they provide, and the bath salts are also lovely for a very comfortable bath in the evening
Overlooking lake biwa room! From far you could also see the snow mountain ! You can walk around the lake in the morning!
The lakeside room is incomparable to general street view or building view hotels, giving guests the feeling of exceptional value. It is difficult to find such spacious rooms at the same price in other hotels in Japan
It's especially handy if you're driving, as guest parking is free. The rooms are spacious and tidy. Definitely a top choice if you have a car
Aircon in room wasn’t that cool as it could get stuffy with 4 people in the room. Little dated hotel but good for staying a night or 2. Parking was free when signed up with their free membership program
This hotel faces Lake Biwa directly, offering fantastic views. It's conveniently located near a supermarket and a popular duck meat soba restaurant by the lake. The hotel's shuttle bus is also very convenient

Also can’t/won’t accept our luggage a day before check-in, which was a bit inconvenient compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at in Japan who happily accepted our luggage two days prior
In fact when we tried to extend our stay, they told us that the hotel was fully booked. However I found availability online and managed to book through there. The smaller rooms are definitely tight but well kept
We had a comfortable stay overall at Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto. The staff were professional and polite, and the hotel is conveniently located close to the station, easy to get around
The entrance and ground floor assist to be renovated and quite modern. Rooms are old school decor wise but very comfortable. Great location, Close to kyoto station via a pedestrian shortcut
Overall, this hotel is pretty good. My only minor complaint is that I wasn't informed about the two breakfast areas upon check-in
There’s a complimentary shuttle service to and from the hotel to the station. That said, some areas could be improved. The bathroom felt quite dated and could really use a reno

This was probably the best hotel I stayed at in Japan. It felt incredibly clean — guests must remove their shoes at the entrance and store them in the shoe cabinets, so everyone walks around in socks
The onsen was outstanding: there were at least four pools, so it never felt crowded, plenty of shower cubicles, and a steam room with a TV
Breakfast was impressive, with a wide selection of Japanese and Western dishes and even matcha latte
The only feedback I have would be regarding the robe provided for the onsen, which felt a bit too small. It would be great if guests could be asked for their sizes beforehand to ensure a better fit
Additionally, while the room itself was comfortable and well-appointed, we did not receive the view that we had paid for, which was slightly disappointing
Overall, it was still a lovely experience, and I appreciate the hospitality

The breakfast was great, and the location was convenient for getting around. Plus, the price wasn't too steep.
The room size was decent, not cramped for three people, and it was clean and tidy. The breakfast had a great variety, and my parents were very happy with it. We'd definitely stay here again
**Environment:** There's a 7-Eleven on the ground floor of the hotel. Guests can enter directly from the side of the lobby, and when returning, you can swipe your room card at the 7-Eleven to enter the lobby
This was my second stay, and compared to last March, the housekeeping was a bit lacking. A small clump of trash in the bathroom was still there from the first day until I checked out
Decided to visit Kyoto with my parents last minute, and the price for this hotel was quite good for a last-minute booking. It's very close to Kyoto Station, just a 5-minute walk
Plus, it's near the airport limousine bus stop, which was super convenient for our departure; we took the bus directly to Osaka Itami Airport and arrived in just 50 minutes

An absolutely wonderful hotel! It's clean, hygienic, beautiful, and elegantly simple. The hotel's interior environment is excellent. The staff are very patient and enthusiastic, a truly professional service team
The room was very quiet, and the breakfast offered a choice of Japanese and Western buffets. There's a souvenir shop next to the lobby that closes at 5 PM, where you can buy gifts
My room included executive lounge access, offering snacks, drinks, coffee, tea, and alcohol – a great place to sit and relax. The room facilities were meticulously maintained, and all appliances were quiet
The room was okay; it didn't have a separate shower and toilet area, but it was clean and the decor wasn't bad. The lobby was quite grand, and the service was good – they even offered room service!
Had a great 3 night stay. Booked the premium room with access to the lounge with drinks & snacks. The shuttle service to and from Kyoto is very convenient.
It might be the off-season, so the price was really good. Check-in was at 2 PM, an hour earlier than most hotels, and I could extend check-out until noon

Convenient central Kyoto location, next to subway station and in close proximity to many local attractions. If you a keen runner, there is a beautiful run and walking route around the river and map is provided by hotel
Traveling to Kyoto with my family, choosing to stay here was definitely the right decision. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from Kyoto Station, which is incredibly convenient
The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming; we weren't sure how to get to the lobby for check-in from a shop in the mall, and a staff member from the shop actually escorted us there
The hotel staff, just like in a standard five-star hotel back home, helped us with our luggage, which is quite rare for the five-star hotels we've stayed at a few times in Japan
The buffet breakfast is on the 17th floor, offering lovely views of Higashiyama and the Kamo River. The breakfast spread is quite extensive and the quality is good
We recommended this hotel to all kinds of travelers from nearby beautiful places and shopping areas spacious room, delicious meals and good services

The room was very clean and spacious. The hotel is right next to a bus stop and a convenience store, which made getting around super easy. All the staff were really welcoming and provided excellent service
I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Kyoto!
I had originally scheduled to pick up my luggage at 6 PM, but my plans changed, and I went to pick it up at 1:50 PM. The staff helped me with my bags and even asked if my kids and I were hungry, offering us a simple meal
Extremely satisfied! 😀 The lobby always smells amazing, and I got an incredible price for a 5-night stay this time. Super happy! I'll definitely be back! Always beautiful Kyoto!
The service was great, and the environment was nice too. The main advantage is the convenient location, very close to the tram station, making it easy to get anywhere
There are also many supermarkets and convenience stores nearby, which is handy for shopping. However, it's a bit of a shame that the public bath isn't a hot spring

The hotel is incredibly well-located, just 200 meters from a subway station. A large supermarket is also conveniently situated about 200 meters to the right, and there's even another supermarket down a nearby alley
The front desk staff were very polite, but it seemed there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff. The hotel feels a bit old, and it seems to cater more to local Japanese guests rather than mainland Chinese tourists
Great hotel to stay at Kyoto! Love the hot spring bath! It's definitely a big plus. 2 min walk to metro station is very convenient. Room is spacious. TV can watch YouTube! Will stay again if I ever come Kyoto again.
The onsen (hot spring bath) is small and gets very crowded; the women's bath was almost always full at every time of day
It's like no one wants to shower in their own room's bathtub; everyone prefers the public bath for convenience
Thanks to the hotel for giving this 'maple leaf refugee' an unforgettable memory! The hotel's hot spring was great, and the breakfast tasted good, though it got a bit repetitive after four days 😂 For those reading this, here's a bonus tip: the furisode at the costume shop opposite Yuanshan Park are super cheap, highly recommended! Finally, it's a shame I still couldn't make it to Kibune-Sanzen (°ー...

It's within walking distance of a very large and bustling train station filled with shops, perfect for buying souvenirs, for example! There's also a shopping mall near the hotel, though we never made it there
However, the air conditioning in the dining area is incredibly strong; everyone was freezing, and some even came down in their jackets. We wore warm hoodies and still felt cold, which was uncomfortable
About a 10min walk from Kyoto Station. Room for one in the main building was the standard business hotel (Bed, table/desk, bathroom). Also has a side building/annex but not sure of the rooms there
its a little walking distance from the Kyoto station but closer to the other metro station. the facility has common bath and a massage place. Its relatively clean and the stay was good.
I was able to get rid of my large suitcase that I dragged around for 2 weeks and sent it to Haneda Airport allowing me to travel light for my last week which I was super grateful for
We really liked the hotel itself; it's clean, cozy, and offers good service. The breakfasts are delicious and varied, with vegetables, fish, meat, and pastries 👍🏼

You can access beautiful gardens directly from the hotel's central area, and the hotel's onsen hot springs are also very good. Breakfast is abundant with great views too. Overall, it exudes a classic sense of luxury
The hotel is also less than two kilometers from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, so it's an easy walk. The surrounding area is beautiful too, with a lovely free park nearby, and the hotel even has its own back mountain
A big plus is the free shuttle service to and from Kyoto Metro Station, which was incredibly convenient. The shuttle even makes free stops at attractions along the way, which was super handy
The hotel has a pick-up point in Kyoto, and it's also a convenient 3-5 minute walk from Keage subway station, right next to Nanzen-ji Temple – a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle
The hotel facilities are excellent, and the rooms, renovated a few years ago, are well-maintained. Amenities are plentiful, with a thoughtful selection of various cups
The hotel service was excellent, truly a luxury experience. It has a swimming pool, gym, and hot springs, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed during our two-day stay

The only downside was parking; getting into the garage was a bit of a hassle as we had to wait for a lobby attendant to operate the elevator every time
The hotel lobby is big and bright. The hotel offers tea bags and toiletries at the lobby for you to take to your room. The hotel staff are friendly and professional. The location of the hotel is very convenient
Even though it's quite old, the service is excellent and very professional. I stayed for 2 or 3 nights, and overall it was decent 😌. Facilities: Average Cleanliness: Good Ambiance: Okay Service: Excellent
The rooms were decent, clean, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. The location is excellent, right across the street from Kyoto Station, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient
Old hotel, still using manual key but good enough and clean. Room is big enough for luggages to open and store. Location is superb across the Kyoto Station next to Kyoto Tower

Super quiet too - Feel like no one else was staying on our floor. So so clean, modern bathrooms really lovely! Staff were super friendly. Pretty good locations for trains and walking distance to Kyoto Tower/Kyoto station
The onsen is clean and spacious. Rooms are spacious too for Japan. Water pressure in the shower is great and loved the scent of their hotel bath gels and shampoo
At first we had a room down to the road and was a bit bothered by the noise of car/motorcycles late at night - so we asked to change rooms and the staff was very helpful about it
Enjoyed the amenities in the room. Comfortable mattress, compared to other Japanese hotel mattresses. One underground stop from Kyoto Train Station. Also hotel location is quite central to all sights snd shopping
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel for 3 nights. Its room was clean and well organized with modern furniture and equipment. It offers many washers and dryers as well as ice machine and microwave oven

Despite being away from the city they charge for parking and also despite being a platinum elite member no benefits extended. They were pretty stuck about everything and I did not enjoy the lack of care
The location is quiet, the hotel environment is excellent, and the service is very professional. The rooms are spacious with great views, and opening the window lets in fresh air. The welcome gift was a pleasant surprise
The environment here is great, very tidy and clean. The breakfast was delicious, and the location is super convenient for visiting nearby temples. Getting around by subway is also very easy
First off, because we booked during maple leaf season, the price was in the four figures, but neither the service nor the facilities met the standards one would expect for that price point or for a 5-star hotel, as some reviews claimed
After we changed rooms, we discovered that the ventilation system or something similar in the new room was also very noisy. We called housekeeping again to have it checked, but again, they never showed up
We have no idea what the hotel staff were doing; it was very frustrating. We then contacted Ctrip to mediate, and their handling of the situation was very effective, so kudos to the platform

The hotel is conveniently located directly across from JR Kyoto Station, making it super easy to find. The room size was decent, especially for the king-size bed I booked, which I really liked
The absolute highlight was the breakfast! There was such a wide variety, including sushi 🍣, various alcoholic beverages, cheese, salads, and grilled meats
The hotel's location is great, right near Kyoto Station, but following Google Maps can be a bit confusing as you have to go through B2. The room was quite spacious and very clean
The hotel room was spacious for Japan, and the location was excellent with convenient transportation. Our tour bus stopped right opposite the hotel entrance, and the bus to Daigo-ji Temple was also by the side entrance

The hotel's location is fantastic! The design is also very modern and forward-thinking. The front desk and concierge staff were all incredibly enthusiastic and always attentive to whether we needed any assistance
this hotel provided us with a top quality service and the rooms are super huge. Gym has plenty of machines and weights. Breakfast was amazing as well. 1 minute away from Kyoto station to top it all off.
It was a very satisfying stay. We stayed in Japan for 7 nights and switched between 3 hotels, and this was by far the most satisfying five-star hotel experience!
Hotel was very sophisticated and clean. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.
They have an excellent dry sauna and a stone sauna along with a cold pool to cool off in after the sauna, as well as, a traditional hot water bath to soak in if that’s more to your taste
