Hotel Atarayo Osaka in Osaka

Overall, fantastic experience at the hostel, especially in the common areas where you can cook your meals if you choose to. A refrigerator is also available in the common area as well. I did enjoy the spa-like environment of keeping your shoes in the first floor locker to maintain cleanliness and sanitary standards throughout the entire hostel area. I was provided these very useful slippers that I kept for future accommodations or using while on a long haul flight . I had a private room which allowed me to store my bag and have a little privacy. My only gripe in the room was I wish the mattress was a little thicker. I have mentioned this to the staff before but it seems that nothing has been done about it. Even though my stay here was short. I did get some recommendations from the staff places to eat and where to go to a sento (public bath house). Somewhat the staff members can also speak Vietnamese as well which was a huge help! The bathrooms and shower area were extremely clean. I would stay here again. Just hoping that the mattress would be a little thicker or at least replaced.

Wonderful stay with atarayo with no complaints. Check-in process was smooth, the staff were friendly and always greet you.

Room was well equipped with ventilation, small table lamp, audio headphones and extension plug. I stayed in the L cabin and was given a generous locker space.

Rules were set in place and communicated to you upon check-in; this creates a mindful and quiet environment for you and other travellers! No eating and drinking in cubicles, but there is a common pantry area where you will find desks, a fridge, microwave and hot water flask. You will not be able to lock your own cubicle & it is not fully soundproof, but I had no issues with that at night as the other travellers were considerate.

A luggage area is available where you can store your oversized baggage if it does not fit in your cabin. Coin laundry is also available.

Ample of shower rooms, sinks & toilet cubicles. Soap & shampoo provided and are of good quality. There’s a powder room where you can do your morning / night routine. Straighteners and hair curlers are provided free to use.

Upon check in, you are given a set of 3 towels, disposable slippers and pyjamas, which you can switch for new ones daily at the front desk.

Short walk to the Shinsaibashi shopping area.

Overall, a pleasant stay and will definitely visit again as a solo traveller.

I originally stayed at another hostel, but since it was fully booked for the next night, I decided to stay here for one night instead.

When I checked in during the morning, all the staff were female — one of them looked like an intern and was super cute, which left a deep impression on me! At night, the staff were all male, and everyone was very friendly and spoke English fluently.

In terms of facilities, the dining area is a bit small, but I liked that there’s a small eating space on the same floor, so you don’t have to go all the way down to the first floor. The showers and dressing rooms were very clean and well-maintained, and they even provide comfortable pajamas, which was a nice touch. The accommodation price is slightly higher compared to other hostels in Osaka.

Overall, even though this wouldn’t be my first choice in Osaka, it would definitely be my second or third! 👍🏻

The hotel is great — very clean, with excellent service and a beautiful design. However, be aware that the room size is quite small, so make sure it fits your needs before booking.
The only issue I faced was with the air conditioning — the room stayed a bit warm, and I often woke up sweating.
I don’t blame the staff for this; it seems more like a policy or system setting issue.
I stayed for 4 nights, and on my checkout day, I left my luggage at the hotel until the evening. When I came back to organize my bags before leaving, I sat in the community room beside the reception. A staff member politely informed me that it’s not allowed to use that room after checkout and asked me to move to the lobby instead. I was surprised, but I understand it’s their policy.
Overall, it’s a very nice hotel with great service — just a few small points to keep in mind.

The facilities and location are great, and the service staff are helpful and enthusiastic. However, if you stay in a separate L-shaped room in the summer, the sliding door will be closed, and the air conditioning inside and outside cannot be ventilated, causing stuffiness. Since I stayed for 4 nights, if the service staff provided a small electric fan, I would check out immediately and ask for a refund, and choose other ordinary hotels nearby because the price is not much different.

The hotel is in a good location. It is much larger than the average capsule. There is a small locker and a walk-in space in the room. It is no problem to put down a 26-inch suitcase. However, I bumped my head twice when I entered the room. I hope that some anti-collision materials can be used to decorate the edges. There are also lockers near the washing area. There is a dedicated dressing table outside the room, which is separate from the washing area. This is good.

Clean facilities, a room large enough to sleep in, and a good price. My recommendation would be to check in a little early to avoid noise in the room after 10:00 PM.
