IM Guest House - Hostel in Osaka

IM Guest House is an older hostel with firm beds and firm pillows. Admittedly, I did not sleep as well as in the hostels I stayed in during my Kyoto and Tokyo stays, but that being said, I'll still give this place 5 stars. Why? Because it was close to the cheapest option but with better reviews than the cheapest option.

The host Nami is the reason for those glowing reviews, and the reason for mine. She speaks English (since I don't know Japanese), makes you breafkast (toast, spreads, hardboiled egg, tea or coffee), gives you recommendations, teaches you Japanese, and is committed to providing her guests the best experience possible. Nami is the sweetest and enhanced my Osaka experience! If you want a community feel where everyone comes together for breakfast every morning, which allows you to meet other great travelers, IM Guest House is the place to be. Through breakfasts, I met a couple from Switzerland who had amazing stories and even invited me to their place when I visited Switzerland! Shout out to Markus and Joanne, looking forward to visiting!

Staying at IM Guest House felt like stepping into a home full of warmth, laughter, and human connection. From the delicious breakfasts that brought everyone together each morning, to the cozy and welcoming atmosphere, every moment here felt truly special.

But what made this stay unforgettable was Nami herself — her radiant energy, kindness, and joyful spirit lit up the entire house. She has a gift for creating a space where strangers become friends and days feel brighter just because she’s around. I’m sure I’ll be back!

This wasn’t just a place to sleep — it was a place to live, connect, and feel. Thank you for one of the most heartwarming experiences of my travels so far. I’ll carry the memories (and the smiles) with me forever.

Nami was simply amazing. The location is very close to the stations, and there’s a market just a 4-minute walk away. The hosts were incredible—so accommodating and provided the best service. The room and bathroom were clean, and we felt right at home. I’m actually glad our previous place canceled on us, because it led us here. Would absolutely recommend!

This Hostel is very clean and Nami the host is very helpful and cheerful, her English is very good. This is a nice and cheap place to stay at. Located near the Korean shops, and not far away from the Momodani station.

Great location and wonderful hostess. She was so energetic and helpful, and made the atmosphere warm and welcoming. My only concern would be the fact that there was only one shower/tooth brushing area for all 3 4-person rooms... that's like 12 people! But overall a great place and would come back.

Also the lock on the toilet doesn't work xD always knock

I can't say much about the location but it looks like a non touristic neighbourhood which I like :3
