Suzuki Guesthouse in Kyoto

I really enjoyed my stay here. The host is very nice, the guesthouse is clean and comfortable, close to a bus stop and some convenience stores.
The kitchen area is fully equipped with everything you could need, the common area feels very cozy and the bed was good.
Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the place is very organized and clean, you have wide lockers to put your valuable items, the owners are very nice people and their dogs are adorable. Also the locations is great bc its close to everything but not in the middle of caos and noise. I would for sure come back here. ❤️

The guesthouse was super clean, the location is perfect, it's easy to take the bus everywhere. The owners are really kind and they have two adorable Pomeranian dogs, Chilo and Nico. I had so much fun with the fluffy cute dogs! Would come back anytime!!

A guesthouse that was like my second home during my stay in Kyoto.

The stay at Suzuki Guesthouse was beyond my expectations. The owners brought out a very cozy and homey feeling to the guesthouse that felt like a second home for me during my 2 weeks stay. I frequently enjoyed my slow mornings in the common lounge where I met a lot of travellers on their journey and was delighted by presence of the dogs, Chilo and Nico. The owner, Suzuki-san, has exquisite taste in music and culture as well, so you find yourself enjoying the books, vinyls, and music playing in the lounge. I would 100% recommend the guesthouse and I’ll be back for sure with my sister! Thank you for everything, Suzuki-san and Cory-san. 🙏🏻

Lovely place to meet and talk to travellers. Beds are just right but might be small for those who are over 180cm. First towel is free and there is a place to dry it, it dries very quickly given how cold and dry the weather was. Keep in mind that other travellers may wake up early to start the trip so the sounds and noises may wake a light sleeper.

It's a really nice and small hostel. It only has twelve beds in total, one room with eight beds, the other one with four. The beds are sturdy and give perfect privacy with curtains and Japanese paper. There are very cosy lounge areas attached to every sleeping room in which you can relax. Downstairs is also a communal space with a kitchen and also outdoor seating. The decoration is tasteful, very Japanese and professional. The airflow in the sleeping rooms is well established with two aircons, it's just cool fresh air, I had three really good nights. As it is not directly in the center you get the more mature crowd who knows how to live in a hostel. The manners are respectful and silent, which was great. From the two closest bus stops I could get direct buses to every major destination very easily and frequently. There are two great supermarkets and several convenience stores as well as restaurants in walking distance. Literally around the corner is a nice little park and a really good local Onsen. Reception time is from 9am to 9pm and as long as the bed is ready you can check in early. There are enough showers, sinks and toilets, was never crowded. Overall I'm really pleased with the stay and can recommend it to the experienced, quiet seeking traveler.

The owner, Suzuki, is very elegant and quiet. The first floor is a beautiful coffee shop that sells some interesting handicrafts, bunk beds, and traditional Japanese bathrooms. It is very close to Nijo Castle and has convenient transportation.
