The room smelled moldy as soon as you entered the door. You had to open the window to sleep at night. There was no light or ventilation in the room. The hangers and other items in the room looked like they were picked up from the garbage dump. There was dust in the corners. The price was 15% higher than similar family apartments in Tokyo and twice as expensive as in Osaka. It was really unlucky!

Although May is considered off-season, I booked a room just a few days before my trip, expecting few options. However, this hotel was surprisingly good, and the room met my expectations. The only rooms available were Japanese-style, which, while significantly smaller than Western-style rooms, were still acceptable. I happened to check out a quadruple room, and while it might not be comfortable for four people, the double room was spacious enough for two.

Transportation: While it's quite close to Karasuma Oike Station, the nearest station doesn't have an elevator, so if you're carrying your luggage to the hotel, you'll have to walk from a station with an elevator, which is quite a distance. After unloading the luggage, everything was fine. Karasuma Oike is located in Shijo, and the area is full of delicious food and fun things to do, making it very convenient to get around.

I forgot to take a picture of the room. It was very simple, with two mattresses and a small coffee table. It had everything, including an iron and microwave. The basic furnishings were okay (the lighting was a bit dim, which was a downside).

For 1670 for three nights, it was an acceptable price.

Other items: The staff was very nice, there was only one key per room, and cleaning and replenishment were only done once during the stay.

The photos in the copy do not match the actual room. The room in the photo is a new building in the north, while the actual room is a small and old room in the south.
The lock in the unlocking video was for the north entrance and exit, but the actual lock was for the south. The video didn't match at all. It took me an hour to figure out, and I only found out from the e-mail that the mailbox and entrance were in completely different locations. Sent e-mails, no response at all. No service at all
There were big dust balls on the floor, the TV remote control fell to the floor behind the bedside cabinet, the washing machine had no drying function; the TV only connected to the Internet, and normal TV could not be viewed; the mattress was a tatami mat, not a spring mattress, and when I got up in the morning, the mattress would be tilted to one side. The room has heating, but the toilet has to go through the kitchen, and there is no heating in the kitchen and the corridor, so you will wake up in the cold when going to the toilet in the middle of the night.

The room is very spacious. The 4 beds are very suitable for family travel. The staff are very attentive and proactively inform us about activities nearby. We are advised to go and check it out. We can store our luggage on the day of departure. The hotel is in an excellent location, 1 minute away from the subway station and nearby It is very convenient to go shopping, eat, and get a haircut. There are also supermarkets and small grocery stores.

Don’t be deter by the photo thinking that you need to take the staircase to your accommodation, you access the unit by the lift at the back of this building. Value for money due to it great location, just a few walk to the metro station and walking distance to few places of interest, Nishiki Market, Yasaka-jinja Shrine, Gion (10 to 20 mins). Self-contained unit, very comfortable beds, lot of space for bags. It is a surrounded by supermarket, convenience stores and eatery. There is also locker to store your luggage at 300 yen after check out since there no reception area.
