Matsuyama, Takanoko-cho 737-2, 790-0925 Matsuyama, Prefektura Ehime, Yaponiya (5 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Stayed here with friends for a golf trip. Getting around wasn't an issue as we rented a car.
What really stood out was the hotel's hot spring – the water was incredibly soft and felt amazing. Even softer than Dogo Onsen, I'd say?
My only minor gripes were that there was absolutely no Korean or English spoken, and the pajamas in our room were quite old and too big. Overall, we had a good stay though
At approximately 5,000 yen per person, the hotel included hot springs and breakfast, which I felt offered excellent value for money. The hotel and guest rooms were clean, and there were no particular issues.
The parking lot was spacious and easy to park in, which was convenient. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying. The hot springs included a sauna and an open-air bath, and the facilities were excellent...
Both the exterior and interior have been beautifully restored! The hot springs were also great ♪
The hot spring was great and there was a massage chair in the room, so I was able to relax!
The room was comfortable and the heating was excellent. The onsen, which is operated in conjunction with the hotel, is especially better than Dogo Onsen. Towels and linens are provided daily, ensuring exceptional cleanliness. The breakfast was delicious and varied, making it hard to believe it was a hotel breakfast. There's also a delicious yakitori restaurant in front of the hotel. Definitely check...
Guests could use the hot springs for free.
It was a bit far from Matsuyama City,
but the staff were friendly,
and it was great to be able to enjoy the hot springs.

The staff were very polite and kind. Even though I had booked the same room twice through another website, they kindly processed the cancellation for me. However, it was disappointing to find clumps of hair in the shower and bathtub when I was bathing.
The hotel facilities are a bit old and the rooms are on the small side, but it was fine considering the affordable price, and I really liked that the front desk staff were incredibly friendly! They even showed me to a parking spot and waved goodbye all the way up in the elevator.
The sign said to take off your shoes, but I laughed when I saw someone who had already taken off their shoes in the hallway.
It was nice to have a welcome drink; it was especially helpful on such a hot day.
I was impressed with how environmentally conscious the operation is.
This price is normal with breakfast included, but it would be nice if parking was free.
It was about a 10 minute walk to Okaido. I took the tram to Dogo Onsen and it was easy to find and convenient. The hotel staff were very kind. There were ample amenities and I didn't have any problems, and if I stayed multiple nights I got a free mineral water server. It was great. I'll definitely use it again when I go to Dogo Onsen.

Just 7 rooms and it should have 7 stars to describe this place. We enjoyed every minute in this magical place. The design is one of a kind. Thank you Tadao Ando and the entire team for creating this place.
This hotel is located on the top of a mountain and was designed by Tadao Ando. There are seven rooms in total, one per floor, including the new building and the main building. Because we arrived late today, the hotel left four staff members to serve us. They had been emailing us to inquire about the arrival time and whether we had food allergies. They were very caring and meticulous. We booked a semi...
Really the most wonderful
Place to find to find out that your fiancé has been cheating on you for over a year!
Only 7 rooms, the view was spectacular, and the food with ehime sake pairing was perfect. I really appreciated how the sommelier spent the time to go through all the details of the sake. The underground pool was so big and the sauna was great. In this time of year you get leaves and ocean...
Amazing stay in a beautiful hotel designed by Tadao Ando. Service, pool and breakfast were amazing. The room was really great but a tiny bit disappointed by the bathroom which was a bit weird and not so beautiful especially compared to the rest. Lunch was also so-so. We didn’t have dinner there but regretted the lack of simple options (only a very expensive one).
Staying in the hotel is like staying in an art museum. I really like the sunny restaurant. The breakfast and dinner are very exquisite and delicious. The cafe has many Tadao Ando books to read. I highly recommend the sea view room, which directly overlooks the Seto Inland Sea. You can enjoy it early in the morning. Watching the sea slowly grinding beans to make hand-brewed coffee, I really like the...
Extraordinary architecture, excellent service and good food. The in-room onsen has flat bed which is very relaxing I could stay there for a whole day. The hotel only has 7 rooms, very quiet and peaceful.

Nice location near JR Station. The room is kind old fashion, but clean. The staff are very nice and helpful.
Cleanish enough. Rooms were okay. Onsen baths cross the street for a fee (albeit reduced to 550¥). Easy access to everything Matsuyama city has to offer.... Buy a bit dated.
The hotel is located about a hundred meters from Matsuyama Station. The room was good size, looked recently renovated although the furniture was old and somewhat worn out. The room supplies are provided at the front desk and are available 24 hours. The room key must be used to turn the light by inserting it into a separate keyhole located on the wall panel.
Advantages: Located next to the JR station and the Matsuyama tram loop line, the transportation is very convenient. There are several restaurants downstairs next to it. Among them, the Japanese restaurant Tomiya, which is closest to the hotel, is recommended. It serves affordable home-cooked dishes. The owner is a kind old lady. Except that the food is a little slow, everything else is good.
Disadvantages...
Located at the intersection of JR Matsuyama Train Station, buses and trams
The transportation is very convenient.
The hotel facilities are old, but very clean.
The service staff are very nice, most of them are older sisters.
Especially when the room is cleaned every other day, the service staff will not enter the room.
The price is considered high value for money in Shikoku, Japan.
The breakfast buffet was delicious. There was also a hot spring nearby that was very affordable. The service was also polite and they kept our luggage both at check-in and check-out, so we were able to sightsee at our own pace. We could see a bit of Matsuyama Castle (*^^*)

If you are wondering where to board the bus, its right in front of starbucks at dogo onsen eki. The resort is not bad, worth the price, but nothing to shout about. If you dont want to take the bus, go up to the flight of stairs to the orange temple, the resort is abt 100metre from the carpark from the rear of the temple.

Super kind and passionate staffs. Room's clean and you can borrow Yukata in various designs. The onsen in the ground floor is great and well equipped and have nice open-air bath. It's on the top of the hill next to the Dogo onsen main building, but the hotel offers free shuttle bus from the hotel-Dogo onsen-Dogo station in every 30 minutes. Beautiful place. Surprisingly big. Highly recommended
Very good dinner and breakfast has a very good variety too.
Good hotspring with good variety - there are 2 floors with options to book private onsen too
Friendly staff that is able to speak English

There were toys, toothbrush and yukata for kids too. Also ball pit and udon making for kids which was delightful...
High points:
- Kid friendly Kaiseki meals: They actually make different meals for the kids. This was huge for my family. (Even though I personally have to apologize for the fact that one of my kids is a very picky eater.)

We didn't stay the night but went for the private onsen that are available to rent for 5,5k yen. The staff were friendly and helpful as we showed up with no reservation and were able to proceed to the bath right away. The after-bath drink was included, a refreshingly nice cold green tea. Very much recommended.
Very comfortable stay. The room is spacious and clean. staff was very friendly and helpful. At the dinner restaurant they adjust the meal plan for me even it’s the last minute information my food preferences. I couldn’t get his name but thank you very much. The shuttle’s very convenient and ran frequently.
It is a 50-year-old hotel, but it was recently remodeled and is clean. There are small events and the large bath is well-equipped, so it is recommended for families.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Dinner is well served with a variety of delicious local dishes. The Onsen bath is clean and the facilities are good. The facilities are amazing and the onsen was super clean the food was great as it can be! I would totally go back. I just hope they have options for travelers with dogs. Where they have beautiful garden to walk around and if dog was allowed the stay would be more efficient and comfortable. Amazing place!
A very enjoyable onsen resort, the tatami room looks great and is very wonderfully designed.

The hotel staff were incredibly kind! I think I messed up dialing the phone and only my voice went through, but before I could figure out what to do, they came to my room to assist me. Both at check-in and check-out, they were just as lovely. Such great service for an affordable price!
While I felt that hotel prices in Matsuyama were a little on the expensive side, this hotel provided decent value for money. It's conveniently located near the tram station, and although the building isn't new, it was spotless. Room - passable. I got one which has mold on the window panes and curtains. Room smelt wet and the carpet very slightly moist. But the bed was comfortable at least and the temperature control worked. Unit bath was upgraded but tiny.

The hotel photos seem to be quite old.
This may be due to Livemax's management policy, but the indoor bath was blackened and I didn't feel like taking a bath. I had high expectations, so I was disappointed.
The food is good, but the hotel staff don't speak English very well. They will try their best to meet the needs of guests. There is a table tennis room, but parking spaces are limited, so you may have to park on the street.
