We stayed in a treehouse, which was small but very cozy. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were clean. It had everything we needed (fridge, TV, hairdryer, electric heater, shower amenities). The food is delicious, and the location is great for a winter vacation.

We stayed in a yurt, which was very comfortable and warm for November, and the breakfasts were wonderfully delicious. There are also places to walk around and explore. However, the ski slopes are quite close to the yurts, which might be a disturbance for those who want to sleep in.

The stay and the location was exceptional, there were many activities which are well organized. However, the room service was pretty much delayed all the time. Any support took time to attend. Overall it was good!!

A little better handling of the queue to the poma lift would make the entire experience more enjoyable.

Nice ski resort. Cheap but warm and polite. The slope is not steep but bumpy and interesting if you like to jump and carve. The pulling lift itself is an adventure, it is the longest I've ever seen.

Perfect little ski slope for a family outing where you can see your kids, eat within meters of their skiing slope and enjoy the view without hundreds of people.

Beautiful place both in winter and summer. I do not know winter sports so always visit this place in summer. In summer it is amazing with greenery and flowers.... And treks to walk. Treks are good and of moderate difficult.

A great place, came with family, very wonderful time, the slope is not big, but very diverse. Excellent staff and professional instructors, know their business, I recommend everyone!

Wonderful place, very comfortable and has all necessary amenities. View from house 17 was wmazing. There is not constructin going on, however it was not disturbing.

The room is spacious and the facilities are good. It is inconvenient to carry luggage.

One of the highest ice skating natural ring covered with snow all around.

The place is closed for construction for more than a year. So ice skating is closed. You can ice skating upstairs after the cable ride.

Ice Rink and the place is really nice. The view is amazing because it’s surrounded by mountains, and the air feels super fresh. The rink is huge and the atmosphere is fun, even if you’re not a pro at skating.

Absolutely stunning views! Walked up the stairs (854 steps, elevation gain 210 m). It was hard work but worth it.

Medeu is a must-visit spot in Almaty, especially during winter. Set in a beautiful mountain valley, it’s one of the highest ice rinks in the world. The scenery is stunning, with snow-covered peaks all around. Whether you’re skating or just enjoying the fresh air and mountain views, it’s a refreshing experience. The first time I checked in, the front desk accidentally gave me two keys. Both rooms I entered had a strong smell of food and garlic. I thought it was just someone nearby cooking and the smell hadn't dissipated yet. I was really tired, so I just lay down. The more I rested, the more I realized something was off. Later, I discovered the smell was coming from the bathroom, and it was so bad it made...

The hotel is surprisingly (for Kazakhstan) excellent. Everything is clean, the ceilings are high, and it's warm. There are many minor issues. Some minor gripes: the water takes a long time to get hot water, and the Wi-Fi password in the left wing isn't listed. It's only available at reception. The soundproofing is poor. All the shops are closed at night. We had to hunt for food 1.5 kilometers away...

When I checked in, I was told "There is no reservation." I had printed out the voucher, so I showed it and was able to check in. The walls were thin, and I could hear noise from the next room.

A decent hotel, close to the airport. The room was fresh, clean, and cozy. There are plenty of cafes nearby. We liked the Badam cafe (a 10-minute walk from the hotel); the shashlik was delicious (we recommend trying the duck shashlik), and the prices were half those in the city center. It took us about 20 minutes to get to the airport by taxi in the evening.

I extended my stay for another night, and I must commend the hotel's thoughtfulness. The breakfast was quite good, but because I'm lactose intolerant, I got diarrhea after drinking milk. When I asked if the hotel had any medication, they first checked if I was allergic to it before giving me the medicine. They were very considerate and attentive.

Good enough location, but not very convenient for pedestrians, because it's next to a busy highway.

Small and cosy. Good price for what you get. Would be excellent if breakfast was included.

For the price it is a perfectly serviceable hotel, clean tidy had a sauna and a pool and a 15-20 minute walk to town. Perfect for visiting Medeo as the bus route goes down Dostyk which is right next to the hotel. The check in staff were also friendly and helpful. The only downside was the lack of bed side lamp and that it is quite hard to locate the first time. It's actually on a side road off elebekov...

Rooms are small and basic, I stayed a few times, once during the winter the room was freezing cold and the heating could heat it. Breakfast is good but no longer self service.

Had an enjoyable and social stay here. I was especially grateful that I was allowed to check in early & shower (about 11am) after a very long flight. Rooms were your typical dorms, mine was a bit on the smaller side but there's a large variety of sizes. No AC in the peak of summer was tough however. I really enjoyed my stay at Almaty Backpackers. The staff is really friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is amazing. There are lots of other travelers here to meet and go on trips with. I will always come back here whenever I stay in Almaty.

I’m so glad that I stayed at this hostel. It was last minute but I made so many friends and felt really welcomed and safe. Valentine and Aisultan and everyone else who works here are so helpful and funny and kind and generous. It’s located in a nice spot and has a shop right next door. Kitchen, washing machine, close to metro, etc. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lives up to the name. Very friendly staff, super welcoming and social atmosphere, the yard out front is a great place to hang out, play cards, socialise. Rooms are cheap, beds are comfy although on the hard side, location is pretty good too, right next to a shop and down the road from a great restaurant. Would highly recommend!

The hostel has a great location and the staff are extremely kind and always willing to help. The cleaning staff is constantly working, so the place is always spotless. The beds don’t have curtains and the mattresses are a bit thin. Also, when I visited it wasn’t a very social hostel, though that might have been due to the time of year. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Amazing hostel. Staff are very down to earth and super helpful with everything. Had an amazing time, you should absolutely stay here.

Convenient transportation, spacious house

The staff and location were great. There was a stream and cafe nearby, so it was perfect for a walk or a coffee break while soaking up the negative ions. There was a shopping mall and restaurants within a 10-minute walk, so it was convenient for shopping and eating. There is no elevator, so it may be difficult if you have a lot of suitcases.

The location of the hotel is very good, quiet in the bustle. There is a natural park next to it, and it is also very convenient to go to the shopping mall. The room is large in size and there is a breakfast option. There are not many rooms in the hotel, so you need to book as early as possible.

Room looked cheap motel. Hoped to have a shower but the water was ice cold.

I came to check in around 5 pm or later. I was told the room will be ready in 10 minutes which actually was longer. Anyway, the room should have been kept ready for the normal check in time. Spacious rooms with balcony and comfortable leather sofa and chair with desks, shelves, and refrigerator. Bedding is luxe! Hosts serve breakfast on porcelain: sausage, eggs, salad, bread, yogurt, homemade pastry, potato pancakes, coffee or tea. Free airport shuttle. Family run business with exceptional hospitality!

I stayed here at the beginning and end of my two weeks Central Asia trip. The owner Valdimir and his parents are very nice, love the breakfast, spacious room and very clean bathroom. The free airport transfer made navigating from airport to the guesthouse a hassle free experience. Definitely high value for the price!

A very good hotel. They answered a phone call late at night at 4am. They accommodated me. The staff was polite and friendly, the rooms and hotel were clean. All the amenities were there. Very clean and tidy. Peaceful, quiet, and cozy. I asked for a slightly later check-out, and the staff kindly agreed. Highly recommended.

Good location, very nice and clean room, pleasant stay.

In order to spend the night, others will go, the most norms for a long stay, not for me the windows are small and high.

Great location, affordable rooms. The air conditioning did not work well, the springs on the mattress were sticking out, it was not comfortable to sleep.

A good place to stay for a few days until a decent accommodation is found. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you need. There is a convenient shared kitchen. The staff are nice and friendly (for the most part). There may be inconvenience with neighbors who rent rooms by the hour for a known purpose, but in general this is not critical.
