The hotel environment is stunning, and our room offered amazing views of the snowy mountains. We even had a private sauna in the room!
The hotel staff were fantastic; we arrived around 10 AM to drop off our luggage, and they kindly offered us an early check-in free of charge. Once we saw the room, I honestly didn't want to leave and just wanted to relax there. To top it all off, they also allowed us a late check-out, which was incredibly helpful.
The mini-bar in the room was completely free, which was a lovely touch.
We also tried the hotel's restaurant, Auyl, which is highly recommended online. The restaurant itself is beautiful.
Overall, it was a truly wonderful experience. It even started snowing as we left, making the whole setting even more magical.

Getting here by taxi from the city center was super convenient. I stayed for two nights. On the first day, I saw a glimpse of a 'golden mountain' at the top, and on the second day, there was heavy snow – the scenery was absolutely stunning!
There's a shuttle bus service for getting up and down the mountain after check-in. If you're short on time and miss the shuttle, it's also easy to just grab a taxi.
The hotel description was a bit sparse. The minibar is complimentary and replenished daily. The sauna was also great. Someone will help with your luggage, but it's good to mention it beforehand. You'll need to download another chat app (WhatsApp, I assume) in advance, as most requests are handled there, and responses are pretty quick. The views are beautiful and well worth it.
Plus, the famous Top 50 restaurant is right next door. Breakfast is delivered to the room, but it was a bit monotonous.

Wonderful place, very comfortable and has all necessary amenities. View from house 17 was wmazing. There is not constructin going on, however it was not disturbing.

We were here 3 nights and loved it. Stunning location, great views, spacious and well-appointed rooms. Service was great. This is a very special hotel, every aspect of our stay was wonderful.

I stayed for two nights. The place is great at night, but hot during the day. The place is clean and quiet. The breakfast is average and limited. As for the service, they are cooperative. There is a separate restaurant with a beautiful view. We had dinner there. The service was excellent in the restaurant. I thank the waitress Tangnurym for helping us choose dinner.

The lodge is cute and has nice views. It is nearby the ski lift which overlooks the city. It is also near the Auyl Restaurant, which is well worth a visit. A nice place to chill and do some day hiking. The service was very good, and breakfast was great.

I had been wanting to stay at Qazaq Auyl for over a year since I first came across it online.
The resort has several unique advantages:
-Location: Nestled right next to Medeu, surrounded by mountains and trees, the setting is absolutely stunning. The air is incredibly pure, and the property feels secluded in nature while still being close enough to the city center and Shymbulak.
-Accommodation: The cottages are clean, spacious, and very comfortable — the addition of a private sauna is a wonderful touch that adds to the experience.
-Dining: The resort houses Auyl Restaurant, a destination in itself. Listed in Forbes as one of the world’s 16 most beautiful restaurants and featured in the 50 Best Discovery list, it’s a must-visit for anyone coming to Almaty.
-Service: Communication with the reception was smooth and entirely handled through WhatsApp. The staff was responsive and made a clear effort to assist whenever needed. There were a few hiccups though as described below.
There are a few areas that need to be improved:
-Breakfast: This was the most underwhelming part of the stay. The options are extremely limited — you can choose how your eggs are prepared, but the rest is a fixed selection: porridge, cold cuts, sausage, sliced cucumber and tomatoes, bread, croissant, and jam. If you avoid processed meats or porridge, there’s not much left. Notably, there were no fruits offered. Given the caliber of the restaurant on-site, there needs to be an option for the hotel to work with the restaurant to offer a better breakfast, even if it comes at a slightly higher price. It would significantly elevate the overall experience.
-Early Breakfast/Lunch Box: I appreciated the team’s effort to provide early breakfast/lunch boxes on days we had early tours (since breakfast starts at 9 am). However, the contents were limited to hot dogs, and on one day, due to a “technical” issue, we were brought regular breakfast instead. A bit more communication would have helped avoid confusion.
-Spa Voucher: Our booking included a spa voucher (since we booked directly through the website), but this was not provided proactively. I had to follow up and only received it near the end of our stay.
Overall, I’d give Qazaq Auyl 4 stars — it would easily be 5 if not for the breakfast. With a few thoughtful adjustments, particularly to the morning dining experience and communication, this could become a destination to visit again.

Everything about the hotel is top notch: the location, service and of course the rooms. The views are magnificent! Also liked the availability of a sauna inside the lodge. Hoping I can return to this wonderful spot soon and spend more time there.

Went for our lunch at this incredible restaurant. the ambience and architecture is simply outstanding. They have maintained the culture and heritage of the old times. The food was simply awesome.They have the trestle sitting as well as the regular table and chairs. We opted for a trestle sitting and it was a unique experience. Ameena was the one who served us with not just excellent food but also stories about the place. It was a wonderful experience to visit the place.
