Tenir Eco Hotel, Shymbulak Mountain Resort in Chimbulak

Excellent experience, beautiful location, very comfortable room.

What a beautiful experience, The views of the mountains are incredible, it is incredibly easy to do a days skiing and return to the top of the mountain to retire for the night. The room was amazing it has a small sauna perfect for 2 people, the room was warm, underfloor heating , bathrobes and a wonderful shower. Nice speaker and smart tv, comfortable sofa and big bed. The restaurant is fantastic too, We had breakfast each morning and a romantic meal for 2 on our last night and had the restaurant to our selves it was very special. All the staff were amazing they all had very good local knowledge and even spoke English to me which was very nice. We thank you for hosting us

This hotel is located right at the top of Shymbulak, making it the best possible location if your main goal is skiing. The atmosphere is amazing—very energetic and friendly with everyone having fun on the slopes. The rooms are spacious, well-heated, and clean. A nice bonus is the private sauna in the bathroom (a bit small, but a great feature). Noise was never an issue. Service Tip: Service was great. There is a bit of a language barrier with English, but I found that communicating via their WhatsApp number was much smoother and more effective. Important Considerations & Logistics: While I enjoyed my stay, there are crucial logistics to be aware of: Access is limited: The only way to reach the hotel is via the cable car (teleferik), which takes about an hour from the base and closes strictly at 4:30 PM. You must arrive at the base by 3:30 PM. If your flight arrives at night, you cannot reach the hotel. Early Departures: I booked an extra night because my flight was at 3:00 AM, hoping to leave late. However, I was forced to check out and leave by 4:30 PM due to the cable car closing time. Cabin Layout: This isn't a traditional hotel building; it is a series of individual cabins. If you need to go to reception or the restaurant, you have to dress in full gear and go outside. Dining: The restaurant closes at 9:00 PM and there are no other options at the top of the mountain. I highly recommend packing snacks if you eat late. Luggage: Transporting bags through the 3 cable car stops is a hassle. The hotel offers a luggage pickup service (from the 2nd station), but they charge a fee. Given the room rates, I feel this should be complimentary. Verdict: If you are visiting Almaty strictly for a few days of skiing, this is a great choice. However, for a general vacation, I found it more convenient to stay in the city and visit Shymbulak as a day trip to avoid the logistical restrictions.

Very cosy room, Netflix and smart tv, very scenic view of the mountain, short hike nearby, very nice breakfast. Very scenic sunrise and sunset. Cute dog. Comfy and amazing stay! IG WORTHY! Even have sauna in the room! Starry night!

Con: dinner only available at restaurants below, need to take cable car. Cable car timing is quite limited. Must check in earlier. I missed the cable car time so I need to wait for the last session! May get high altitude sickness, please prep some Panadol or altitude sickness pill! Abit far to get there. 1 car ride & 3 cable cars up!

Would recommend to reach early because can do short hikes and even paragliding! (Although i didn’t try because i reached at 6pm)

Located at the top of Shymbulak, eco panir provides a breathtaking view of the mountains, sunset and sunrise.

Great hotel on top of the mountain with a wonderful view. To reach out the hotel, I needed to use cable car from Medeu parking area that will take approx.1 hour. In addition, there’s some time constrain on the cable car operating hours, hence I needed to plan accordingly to reach the location. The hotel also arranged the horseride tour and it was amazing on summer.
